My dear bed, how I've missed you to death!
Aya once suspected that the bed was somehow magnetically bound to Tiran. The speed at which he stripped off his clothes and leaped onto the bed was truly unparalleled.
Although they hadn't encountered any difficult battles since Kent Mountain, they still had to travel far and wide, charging into the fray. While the physical burden may not have been heavy, the mental fatigue was still present.
Nearly a month later, after sorting out all the details of the retreat and negotiations with the enemy, the old man finally allowed Tiran to return to Gilliast Castle.
While she and Aya were setting out to ambush Maston, Mimi and Justice had temporarily closed off the castle and evacuated with the last batch of kingdom troops to avoid the brunt of Glius' forces.
At one point, Glius Federation's landing forces had also arrived at the castle, but they showed little interest in the empty castle on the outskirts. Therefore, the interior of Gilliast Castle was not damaged like Beacon Castle. However, some dust accumulation was inevitable.
With the war over, the castle's staff, including maids, cooks, guards, and gardeners, were fully replenished. It wouldn't take long to clean and tidy up everything, with top priority given to the Princess's chambers.
"Dad really doesn't act like a dad at all..."
The beast-eared loli princess, held in Aya's arms, pouted and muttered quietly.
"Whimper!"
The Princess, who had originally planned to roll around on the bed, stiffened suddenly, as if struck by something vital. She quietly sat up, looking at Chirp, then at Aya.
"Aya... um, if we have children in the future, does that mean I can't roll around freely like this anymore?" The Princess looked pitiful, a reluctant expression on her face.
After all, if they became parents, they would have to behave a bit, right? But why was she already thinking about future children?
"Chirp, will Mommy and Daddy have a baby? Will Chirp have a little sibling?"
"Yeah, maybe, maybe it'll even be an egg..."
The Princess walked up to Chirp, reaching out to fondle her soft, furry ears, a satisfied smile on her face.
"... An egg?"
The little loli looked puzzled.
"Why are you talking about such things with a child!" Aya sighed, finding it hard to believe. But then again, Chirp had emerged from a core similar to an egg, so it was indeed a strange phenomenon.
"Well, well, maybe when little Chirp grows up, she'll get married too. It's good for her to learn about these things earlier on, right?" Tiran, feeling comforted by Chirp's ears, became somewhat reluctant to let go, even becoming more eager.
"Chirp, don't underestimate yourself!"
The beast-eared loli dodged Tiran's playful hands, but being in Aya's arms left her with little room to maneuver. She tried to resist verbally, "Chirp has learned about reproduction and such from books. Mommy and Daddy, don't assume I know nothing!"
"Ah, well, Tiran Miss, do you have these types of books in your study?" Aya slowly turned her head to look at Tiran.
"Uh, I barely go there—it's Mimi and Justice's domain," Tiran quickly deflected.
Considering it was the princess's study, even if she didn't use it regularly, the sheer number of books there would rival a small library. It was possible that there were books covering all topics, including biology and reproduction. But surely no one could get excited reading such material, right?
After revealing a list of increasingly risqué topics, Tiran, with flushed cheeks, actually counted them on her fingers. Wait, do these things really get printed in legitimate biology books?
"What have you kept in your study, Tiran Miss? Why fill Chirp's mind with those dirty things?" Aya was exasperated.
"I wouldn't put those kinds of reads in there!"
Tiran vehemently denied.
"Yeah, I found it in Dad's secret room."
"What is it?"
Tiran was taken aback; she couldn't recall ever allowing Chirp access to her treasure vault. How did she get in there? More importantly, what was wrong with the AI managing the vault? Why would it allow Chirp entry so easily?
"Mistress, it wasn't that I didn't want to stop her; I simply couldn't… she made all the security systems malfunction as soon as she entered."
A distressed voice came from behind the mirror at the entrance to the secret room.
Chirp wasn't someone to be underestimated—a living, nearly unlimited Yuan core capable of controlling magic in addition to her innate powers, she was akin to a walking powerhouse.
"How about you teach Chirp some magic, Aya? Who knows, she might become invincible?"
Even without any special training, Chirp, during her time with Tiran in East Land, had managed to use her psychic tentacles to lift significant objects, rivaling the mental strength of a Magic practitioner who had diligently practiced for over a decade.
"Well, we could give it a try. I happen to have some free time now... Huh?" Aya lowered Chirp to the ground, then raised an eyebrow.
"There are people coming up the stairs, three of them. Judging by the footsteps, it's not Mimi or any of the other maids."
"Got it."
Tiran was also perplexed. Who was coming up? She hadn't asked Mimi to bring her any refreshments, and it wasn't time for afternoon tea. So, who could it be?
Without much thought, Tiran naturally walked towards the door.
"I'll just take a peek... huh? It's—"
Extending her mental senses, she saw the visitors climbing the spiral staircase.
"Wait, Tiran Miss! Outside the door!" Aya warned, just as the unsecured door swung open inward before Tiran could reach the handle.
And Tiran, unprepared, collided head-on with her unexpectedly visiting father, the King.
"My dear daughter, your beloved father has brought the whole family to visit you! I purposely didn't inform you through Mimi, surprise, surprise! Unexpected, isn't it? Little... Tiran? Are you okay?"
The King's excited expression froze upon seeing Tiran holding her forehead where she had been bumped.
"When you come· inside· knock· on· the· door·!" The enraged Princess grabbed a pillow from the nearby couch and flung it with all her might, striking the King with a killer force and sinking him like a volleyball in a whirlwind.
"Hah, serves you right!"
After letting out her anger, Tiran stood hands on hips, letting out a sigh of relief. It was only then that the information registered in her mind.
The entire family?
"Sweetheart, are you still alive?"
A gentle voice came from outside, and a white figure floated in, dressed in a simple yet elegant beige silk dress with a red bow at the chest. The amber eyes and lively, clear gaze of the woman matched Tiran’s own gem-like emerald eyes.
"Mother? You're here too... Gulp!"
Without a chance to react, the woman had already reached Tiran, cupping her daughter's cheeks with a smile that sent shivers down one's spine.
Though slightly shorter than Tiran, she exuded a strong aura that crushed everything in her path.
"Little Tiran~ What did you just call me?"
"Mom! Mom! Um, you misheard me, um, yes!"
Aya saw Tiran submit so meekly for the first time, wondering why she was so terrified. Despite having briefly met the Queen in the palace, she hadn't observed her closely as she had been preoccupied with the Princess's training.
Queen Milanía, wife of Granzon and mother to Tiran, Vienna Elysian, hailed from an ordinary noble family in the capital, and her union with Granzon had faced opposition in the past.
But after the war eighteen years ago, with most of the royal family perishing in the conflict, Granzon was left unchallenged.
Nevertheless, were they really mother and daughter? The Queen seemed only a few years older than Tiran. Considering Granzon's perpetual youthfulness, there was no issue there.
However, Tiran hadn't inherited the noticeable bosom of her mother. Aya couldn't help but notice the difference in their physiques.
"That's good."
Satisfied, the Queen nodded and then noticed Aya holding Chirp's hand.
"Oh! Isn't this the child you rescued before? She's grown taller but still so cute! Let me pet her~"
Approaching Chirp, the Queen gently rubbed her small head. Meanwhile, Tiran finally realized that her reckless sister, Onii-chan, had also followed. Last to enter the room, she raised her rose gold handcuffed wrist awkwardly and greeted with a hint of embarrassment.
"Long time no see, Tiran."
"Hehe, long time no see, Onii-chan."
