The Demon God Camp wasn’t just a base for exploring the Sea of the Abyss. It was also a functioning force in its own right, with nearly everything here revolving around the Demon King Tower.
The Demon King Tower had three floors. The first was called the Mission Tower, where all kinds of missions were posted. Completing them earned Demon King Points, which could be exchanged for all sorts of things on the second floor.
The second floor was called the Tower of Treasures. It held all kinds of treasures, but you needed Demon King Points earned from missions to get anything there. You could exchange points for everything from demonic artifacts and things that could dramatically boost your strength to the Demon King’s own cultivation insights and powerful techniques.
The third floor was the core of the Demon King Tower. They said only demons chosen by the Demon King were allowed up there. Ordinary demons knew nothing about what was on that floor or what it was for. Even the demons who’d been up there kept their mouths shut. But judging by how much stronger they became, it had to be a pretty incredible place!
The new demons were naturally curious about the place. After all, the Abyss wasn’t like the human world. Demons often didn’t bother with all those twists and turns. In a way, the Abyss was still seriously behind when it came to culture.
Once the new demons learned what this place had to offer, they were all fired up, as if they’d been injected with adrenaline. Most demons were born of heaven and earth, and without anyone to teach them how to cultivate, reaching the Immortal God realm was pure luck. A few got lucky and caught the eye of some big shot, who gave them pointers. The rest had to feel their way across the river, so to speak. Once they reached the Immortal God realm, many demons had no idea how to keep cultivating.
To these demons, the Demon King Tower was a beacon lighting the way forward. The powerful skills the Demon King used and the techniques he’d cultivated were especially exciting to them. They were practically howling with impatience, wishing they could exchange points for them and start training right away.
But all of that required Demon King Points—and as new recruits, they didn’t have a single point to spend!
Bexia wasn’t particularly impressed by the Demon King Tower. Humans had been doing this kind of thing for ages; you could find it all over the human world. It only seemed new because the Abyss was so far behind!
The stone demon gave all the demons a quick rundown of the Demon King Tower, then left them to their own devices. The things here were tempting enough that this bunch of idiots would work obediently even without anyone keeping an eye on them. As for whether they’d be lucky enough to exchange their points for anything good… well, that was up to them.
The stone demon went back to what he’d been doing lately: recovering from his injuries. Then he sent a few subordinates to keep an eye on Bexia and see if anything happened.
Bexia walked through the Demon King Tower’s first floor. Demons of every kind filled the place. It was noisy and the order was pretty chaotic, but no one dared cause trouble. After all, this place was run by a group of Demon Kings. To put it in human terms, looking for trouble here was like looking for something in a toilet.
A death wish!
“Huh?” A mission marked in red suddenly caught Bexia’s eye. He walked over and took a closer look, his brows furrowing.
“Lucifer’s been trapped…” Bexia murmured.
The mission notice said Lucifer was trapped in a strange place. The demons were being asked to find her, and the Demon King Points offered as a reward were exceptionally high.
“What? You interested in this mission too?” A one-horned demon sneered at Bexia’s slender frame. “Take a look at yourself. Lucifer used to be the First Pillar Demon King at the Demon Lord’s side. You planning to go get yourself killed?”
“Hahaha! He’s pretty good-looking. Maybe he’s planning to seduce Lucifer!” A tall, blue, ram-headed demon burst out laughing.
“…” Bexia couldn’t be bothered to answer their taunts. Instead, he asked, “How do I accept a mission?”
“Hahaha! You don’t even know how to accept a mission? What a clueless rookie. Lucifer could probably blow you away with a single breath!”
“Just touch the mission scroll with your token!” one demon said. Bexia took out the token the stone demon had given him and touched the scroll. Sure enough, the mission details were transmitted straight into his mind.
“He actually accepted it!” one demon cried in surprise. Lucifer had fought more than a dozen Demon Kings at once. She was terrifyingly powerful. She’d been badly wounded, sure, but she was still more than most demons could handle.
Several groups of demons who didn’t fear death had accepted this mission before. Not one of them had returned. Rumor had it they’d all been wiped out—and some of them had even been Great Demon Gods!
Bexia left after accepting the mission, apparently already bored. The demons who’d just mocked him were about to leave too when a huge section of the ceiling suddenly collapsed above them. Quite a few demons were buried underneath, and cries of pain rang out all around. The two who’d been shouting the loudest were hit so badly their faces were unrecognizable. They were practically torn to pieces!
“What the hell? What happened? Did the place just fall apart from old age?” A demon stared in confusion at the pitch-black hole in the ceiling. The Demon King Tower had been built with high-grade materials. How could it suddenly collapse?
“Wait, I remember that guy from earlier. I heard some other demons talking about him. Apparently he’s a demon of misfortune. Anyone who gets near him is guaranteed to have bad luck!”
“Seriously? How can a demon like that even exist?”
“Why would I lie? You know that lava demon who serves Demon King Dinos?”
“You mean the one who got struck by lightning out of nowhere?”
“Yeah!” a demon whispered. “I heard it happened because he attacked that demon of misfortune!”
“Hiss—!” The demon sucked in a breath and said, “He’s that powerful?!”
