"Do you know the origin of the Cup of Power?" Bexia asked the black dragon.
"I don't know ╮(╯_╰)╭!" The black dragon shook its head.
"I only know the legend that has been passed down!"
"Do you believe in such legends?" Bexia looked at the black dragon as if it was foolish.
"It's true. You see, the Cup of Power is the core of resistance against the gods. The magical web covering this land is the result of the Cup of Power!"
"It is said that this is just the beginning of seeking a portion of its power. It's a prophecy left by a great sage before his death, telling his disciples that if they want to stand against the gods, they must bring the Cup of Power back into the world and drink the magical water within it!"
"Oh...!" Bexia furrowed his brows when he heard this. With his knowledge, he naturally would not believe such superficial information, especially when it involves a quick path to gaining immense power. There is surely more complexity behind this matter.
"If the Cup of Power were to appear, would the magical web that prevents the gods from descending also disappear?" Bexia inquired.
"Naturally so!" The black dragon nodded its massive head.
"Um... can I go now?" Looking at the pensive Bexia, the black dragon tentatively asked.
"Go? Sure!" Bexia chuckled, climbed onto the black dragon's back, and said, "You saw what was on the map just now. Take me to the indicated location!"
Initially, Bexia had intended to use the black dragon as a means of transportation. However, now that he knew about the Cup of Power, he simply changed the route from the Tower of the Wise Men to a different location.
"I'm so miserable!" The black dragon helplessly flapped its wings and took off. It had been hunted for over a month before and was now being used as a mount, unable to resist. Other than death, it had no choice but to comply.
"Sir, may I ask where you come from?" Since being used as a mount, the black dragon was curious about Bexia's background. Despite its considerable strength and knowledge, it was unaware of Bexia, unlike most powerful beings it had encountered.
"I come from the gaps in time..." Bexia said.
"Sir, you must be joking! How could you come from the gaps in time..." The black dragon's voice trembled slightly. While Bexia's words didn't sound like a lie, the content disturbed it greatly.
Time... that was a realm completely inaccessible, with no time god among the myriad of deities, nor any mention of a great mage wielding the power of time.
"If you believe it, it's true; if you don't, just ignore it!" Bexia, who was actually not in the mood to talk to the black dragon, leaned against its back and fell silent, prompting the dragon to obediently continue flying.
The place guided by the map was the territory of the elves, a race equal to the dragons and once followers of the great sage. It was normal for them to possess some information left behind by the great sage, but it was certainly well-hidden; otherwise, someone would have discovered it over the years.
After flying for a whole day, the black dragon finally arrived in the green sea. As the wind blew, the leaves floated like waves on the sea, giving the location its name – the Sea of Great Trees.
However, at this moment, this tranquil Sea of Great Trees was ablaze with raging fires, black smoke filling the sky. The ground echoed with sounds of battle and desperate cries.
"Sir, it seems the elves are being attacked by someone?" The black dragon observed the flames below and asked Bexia on its back. When in a difficult situation, one has to bow their head!
"By whom?" Bexia opened his eyes and asked.
"It seems to be followers of the War God. These people are all war maniacs, and I sense several auras much stronger than mine. I suggest..." The black dragon looked at the erupting energies below. Although the dragon race was strong and formidable, it was only average among its kind.
"Oh!" Bexia glanced indifferently ahead, then walked slowly to the black dragon's head and said, "Aren't you powerful? Why hesitate now?"
"Sir, although I may be a bit arrogant, I won't willingly march towards death!" The black dragon was annoyed to be stepped on the head by Bexia, but it had no choice. As it mentioned, it wouldn't willingly walk into a deathtrap.
"I see..." Bexia took a glance ahead, then kicked the black dragon towards the most intense clash below. Like a rolling cannonball, the dragon crashed heavily onto the ground.
"Didn't expect to run into her!" Bexia's gaze cut through space and landed on a female elf currently in battle. It was Eileen, the Elven Queen who had once appeared in the Godsend Continent, using her Life Divinity to resurrect herself. She had now merged Life Divinity into her body, becoming a deity holder akin to a heart.
"Boom!"
The black dragon crashed onto the ground, causing intense tremors. The followers of the War God and the battling elf all cautiously distanced themselves, wary of the dragon amidst the smoke and dust, unsure if it was friend or foe.
The dragon race had always been a wild and unrestrained species, acting based on their preferences, with formidable Dragon Kings who made even the three god kings wary. Their individual strength was powerful, rare few in this world could contend with the deities.
Most importantly, dragons tended to be protective of their kin. If one provoked a lesser dragon, it would often lead to the involvement of greater dragons, causing headaches for all involved!
