"Roar—!"
The golden giant lion's body rapidly approached with a roar. Just before crashing into the two figures, Talisa forcefully pushed Bexia away, only to be solidly hit by the golden giant lion herself.
However, to her surprise, it seemed like nothing had happened, as if she had simply been pushed by someone?
"What's happening to me..." Talisa stared in astonishment at her unharmed self. This was already the second time, and being not surprised was impossible.
However, the golden giant lion did not give Talisa time to ponder. Its massive lion claw suddenly swiped towards her violently. If it hit, her bones would probably be crushed into pieces.
"Boom—!"
Talisa awkwardly dodged the lion's claw, leaping off the tree trunk with her legs, grabbing two arrows from her quiver behind her, and shooting towards the lion's eyes. However, the arrows were swatted away by the lion's paw.
The golden giant lion felt extremely provoked by Talisa, the weak human daring to challenge it. It launched a frenzied attack towards her, causing everything within hundreds of meters to be decimated in just a moment, with trees felled and craters dotting the ground.
"Huff, huff, huff~!" Talisa gasped for breath, the high-intensity battle leaving her completely soaked, sweat dripping continuously from her delicate chin. Her leather clothes clung tightly to her skin, presenting a rather disheveled appearance.
But she was surprised that she could endure under the golden giant lion for so long?
However, from the perspective of the golden giant lion, it sensed a strange feeling. Countless times, its attacks seemed to have been aimed right at Talisa, yet each time missed by a small margin. The once absolute hits now seemed to have a slightly increased distance between them for some inexplicable reason.
The golden giant lion's rage had escalated beyond words. It needed to unleash its emotions wildly and was determined to use its ultimate move to kill Talisa without hesitation.
"Roar—!"
The golden giant lion roared, forming a platinum-colored light ball in its mouth, which then burst into a beam of intense light, sweeping away everything in its path.
Talisa narrowly dodged the light beam, subconsciously reaching for arrows behind her to attack. But to her surprise, her quiver was empty; all her arrows had been used up in the heat of battle.
"Need arrows?" Suddenly, Talisa heard a voice near her ear, and a shadow was thrown in front of her. She caught it and realized it was a wooden arrow, freshly whittled with a lingering aroma of roasted meat.
Though a wooden arrow was not very useful, it was better than nothing. Talisa nocked the arrow, aimed at the lion's eyes, and let it fly.
"Thud—!"
The arrow missed the lion's eyes, as the small target shifted with the lion's movements. Instead, it struck the lion's forehead, a part of its hardened skull.
The wooden arrow was deflected, just as Talisa had expected. However, what she did not expect was the lion being pushed back, its massive body flipping over and crashing heavily on the ground!
"..."
The scene suddenly quieted down, as the golden giant lion lay motionless on its back, and Talisa simply stared at the unmoving lion in disbelief.
A chilling breeze swept by, and Talisa, drenched from head to toe, felt it. She turned to Bexia, who was sitting comfortably on the ground, slicing roasted rabbit pieces with the dagger she had given him and placing them on leaves beside him.
"You've worked hard. I've cut them for you, and they're still hot!" Sensing Talisa's gaze, Bexia smiled and spoke, seemingly unconcerned about her demeanor.
"You're quite powerful yourself. Why didn't you lend a hand earlier, leaving me alone to deal with this brute!" If Talisa still didn't understand the situation, she would truly be ignorant. She strode over in anger to confront Bexia, but he stuffed a piece of roasted meat into her mouth.
"Mmm~!"
"Eat first!" Talisa had intended to question Bexia fiercely, but seeing his calm expression, her anger dissipated, and feeling extremely hungry, she decided to sit down and eat first before saying anything.
"I'll go over there to take a look!"
"Hey..." Talisa tried to call out to him, but found him gone in front of her. She hadn't even noticed when Bexia had left.
"Damn guy..." Talisa took a bite of meat, as if she were biting into Bexia.
Bexia's figure appeared in front of a middle-aged man draped in half-animal-skin, accompanied by a three-eyed white wolf slightly smaller than the golden giant lion.
"Growl, growl, growl—!" Sensing Bexia's presence, the three-eyed white wolf immediately became alert, growling at him and ready to pounce, prepared to tear him apart!
The middle-aged man clad in animal skins was also very surprised by the appearance of the young man before him. However, he was the Beast God, one of the guardians of this forest. How could he be frightened by one person?
