Nowel transformed back into her adult form. As someone with a childlike nature to begin with, she easily got along with the four kids, who were all quite innocent except for Arlean.
"I will take you to defeat the boss that bullied you all!" Nowel proudly declared, patting her slightly bulging chest in front of the four little girls.
“Master…” However, Nowel knew to first seek Bexia’s opinion and looked at him expectantly.
“Let's go together!”
“Thank you, Master!” Nowel joyfully replied.
Under Luo Cailing's lead, the group of mischievous children walked into the dense forest, chatting along the way. Bexia also took a look at their levels—none of them exceeded level ten.
Soon they encountered wild monsters that, presumably due to taking care of Luo Cailing and the kids, looked oddly cute instead of fearsome. It felt difficult to attack them.
Even Beibei, upon seeing a monster that resembled a flying fish, pounced and bit it, causing the monster to vanish into data fragments. Beibei felt disappointed, as if the meat in its mouth had disappeared.
Luo Ningxian was not much different. Her pure-hearted effect seemed to work even in a virtual network world, making monsters not attack her and allowing her to pet them at will. As for Luo Ningxian, she preferred fluffy little creatures.
The only relatively normal one was probably their own daughter, Xia Bi'an; however, her way of fighting monsters had nothing to do with the mage profession. Have you ever seen a mage hit monsters with a staff?
"If they can handle this well, that would be a miracle…" Bexia buried his face in his hands, unable to fully comprehend the odd combination of these kids, feeling that they were even more "wild" than the wild monsters.
“Dad, help!” Xia Bi'an ran towards him in tears, with creatures like rabbits, butterflies, and bees chasing after her. She had thrown away her staff.
“Restrain!” Nowel intervened, vines emerging from the ground to entangle the creatures chasing Xia Bi'an.
“It's okay!” Bexia hastened to embrace their daughter, comforting her.
“Daddy, if I can't defeat the monsters, I won't level up. If I can't level up, I won't be able to fight bosses!” Xia Bi'an wiped her tears, lamenting to Bexia.
“And my staff is broken… Wahhh!” Xia Bi'an broke into tears, throwing Bexia into disarray. After all, Xia Bi'an had always been very obedient and well-behaved, and such a situation had never occurred before.
“Master…” Nowel nudged Bexia with her finger, a glint of light appearing as she transformed it into an emerald-gold staff and handed it to him, suggesting that he use it to cheer up Xia Bi'an first.
“Thank you, Nowel!” Bexia accepted the staff without any pretense. It was much better than Xia Bi'an's previous staff, and at the very least, it was of a rare quality in the virtual network world of equipment.
“Don't cry, Papa will give you a new staff, okay?” Bexia shook the staff in his hand. Though he didn’t know the quality, Xia Bi'an could see that this staff was much prettier than her previous one.
"Wow, so pretty, thank you Daddy! Mwah!" Little Bi'an Hua happily gave Bexia a kiss on the cheek, then eagerly took the staff, looking like she never wanted to let it go.
After getting the new staff, Little Bi'an Hua continued happily to bash the wild monsters, and with the new staff being so strong, it was a piece of cake for these newbie monsters, almost too easy.
The slaughterous Little Bi'an Hua quickly caught the attention of others. The other three little girls gazed at the beautiful staff in Little Bi'an Hua's hands, and their eyes lit up. After finding out it was a gift from Bexia, the three little girls crowded around eagerly, looking at him expectantly.
Bexia had no ability to conjure staffs, so he turned to Nowel, who fortunately had some in her collection. She quickly brought out two staffs identical to Little Bi'an Hua's, in red and blue colors, which matched Luo Cailing and Luo Ningxian well.
Of course, Beibei wasn't left out. Somehow, she chose a berserker, so Nowel gave her a wooden greatsword that matched her size.
"Thank you, Nowel, for everything." Watching the four happy little girls discussing whose gear looked the best, Bexia smiled at Nowel and reached out to pat her head in praise.
"I'm just glad to help, and I'm glad you didn't find my things too ordinary!" Nowel squinted contentedly, her eyes forming crescent moons.
"When we get back, I'll have Caidie make matching outfits for Little Bi'an Hua and the others, is that okay?"
"Of course, that would be wonderful!" Bexia nodded in agreement to Nowel's suggestion.
"Daddy! We're going to fight a boss now, make sure you avenge me!" Little Bi'an Hua bounced over, full of excitement.
"All right! Daddy will take you to fight the boss." The boss in the newbie village was at most level twenty, while with his level one hundred maxed account, wasn't it just bullying the wild monsters? Even Nowel probably had the ability to take down the boss.
"Let's go!" But to fulfill his daughter's request, Bexia still decided to first deal with the minor monsters.
With Little Bi'an Hua on his shoulder and seeing Beibei looking enviously, Bexia also scooped up the little kitten and began to pet it, eliciting joyful "meows" from Beibei.
"Let's go, time to fight the boss!" Luo Cailing led the way, staff pointing ahead, looking like a big sister. Luo Ningxian trailed behind, her eyes still shining.
Bexia had only seen such a look on someone's face when they saw food. Why was Luo Ningxian showing that expression while fighting a boss? Suddenly, Bexia remembered Beibei biting the monsters earlier and couldn't help but imagine that maybe Luo Ningxian was a foodie planning to eat the boss.
Wasn't the boss a big wild boar? Even if it looked cute, it couldn't be eaten, right?
With these questions in mind, Bexia, led by Luo Cailing, encountered the big wild boar boss. As they saw the pig as tall as a small building covered in pustules, each one containing a type of dessert, Bexia finally understood why Luo Ningxian had that look on her face, because this big boar was covered in pimple-like bubbles, and each one contained a different kind of sweet treat.
"Delicious!" Luo Ningxian looked at the dessert on the back of the big wild boar with fiery eyes, and even the other kids felt the same way.
"I knew it, Luo Ningxian is always so enthusiastic about food!" Bexia covered her face, realizing that Luo Ningxian couldn't change her foodie nature.
