"No problem!" Ophelia waved her hand, indicating the financial officer to sit down.

"Princess, how can you condone such rude behavior?" The financial officer was an old nobleman who placed great importance on noble etiquette.

"He is my boyfriend!" Ophelia said.

"How can a commoner like him be worthy of Princess?" The financial officer was surprised and immediately spoke.

"A commoner? He is a disciple of Grandmaster Bor. What's wrong with him being my boyfriend? Is it not allowed?" Ophelia had long known that this matter was a taboo for some nobles. Setting aside the issue of identity, being a disciple of Bor was enough.

But the real obstacle was Ophelia's own status. She was now the first heir to the kingdom, the future Queen of Asman, and most importantly, she was unmarried. Countless noble youths were eager to get close to Ophelia, hoping to win her heart and become the future king consort, or at least a duke-level figure.

In fact, from a certain perspective, getting Ophelia would mean having the highest authority in the Kingdom of Asman. Was there anyone who could resist such a tremendous temptation?

Therefore, Bexia's appearance posed a significant obstacle to those nobles with ambitions. It wasn't just this elderly financial officer, but also other military officers who looked at Bexia in astonishment. It was estimated that this news would spread like wildfire tomorrow among every ambitious individual. What would happen then?

However, Ophelia's words revealed a hint: Bexia was not without any background. Bor, as a pillar of Asman, had a relationship with him as his disciple and with Ophelia. This was thought-provoking. If it was a private affair between the two, perhaps others still had a chance. But if Bor gave his approval, it was unlikely anyone could shake this decision made by the powerful pillar.

Ophelia's words left the financial officer speechless. He swallowed his saliva. Bor's reputation was untouchable, and even if you had great power, you were still insignificant in front of those people, not to mention Bor, the true authority of Asman.

Bexia also noticed something and smiled as he put the documents aside. He placed the two hundred million gold ticket that Ophelia had previously refused on the table and said with a smile, "Take it for now. If it's not enough, I'll figure something out!"

Since the relationship had been made clear, Bexia naturally wasn't a fool. When appropriate, he would definitely stand up. He also knew that things wouldn't be that simple between him and Ophelia. So, he had already considered these aspects beforehand, which was why he had controlled his desires at that moment. Otherwise, it might have been detrimental to Ophelia!

Ophelia looked at Bexia lovingly and saw that he was clearing the obstacles between them. She picked up the gold ticket in front of her, along with the documents, and handed them to the financial officer. Although she was annoyed by the old codger's earlier words, she still smiled and said, "These funds should be enough to sustain us until the kingdom's allocation comes in, right, Marquess Taurus?"

"Yes!" The financial officer, Marquess Taurus, naturally sensed Ophelia's displeasure. Although she wasn't the ruler yet, it was best not to say anything more. As an old guy who managed to become the financial officer of the Legion, he knew it was wise to remain silent at this moment.

"Do you have anything else?" Ophelia glanced at the others and asked.

Next came some formal reporting, such as the losses of personnel and equipment in each corps, as well as some post-war work. Bexia wasn't interested in these matters anyway. As long as the legion's operating expenses were in place, everything else would be easy to handle.

"Well, you can go!" Ophelia waved her hand, and the legion officers left the tent together, leaving only Bexia and Ophelia here.

"Phew!" After everyone left, Ophelia couldn't help but exhale. These political affairs were particularly troublesome.

"Are you okay?" Bexia hugged Ophelia from behind, placed her on his lap, and looked at her weary appearance with a touch of pity. He gently stroked her forehead, hoping to relieve her discomfort.

"I'm fine!" Ophelia's tone was calm. She cuddled into Bexia's arms and whispered, "Actually, I don't like these things in my heart. If I could, I would prefer to be among adventurers, a free-spirited crowd who can do whatever they want. There's no need to consider so much!"

But being born in the royal family, there were some things she couldn't choose. However, when it came to things she could choose, she would definitely make her own choices. Just like her relationship with Bexia, after these experiences, she unconsciously realized that the young boy who had saved her once had grown up, and in a short period of time, he had become even stronger than her. It was incredible.

If she were to face a political marriage, Ophelia would never agree to it, so she chose Bexia. It was not just because of the formalities, but also because after a period of separation, she realized that she had developed different feelings for him. She enjoyed being with him and felt safe by his side. This must be what her mother meant by a "haven of love"!

"If you have anything to say, don't keep it to yourself. It's not a good thing to bottle up your feelings!" Bexia knew that being a legion commander was not easy. He was sure that Ophelia had many complaints in her heart, but she didn't have anyone she could confide in. But now, he was here, so it was different.

"I really have nothing to worry about. Don't think too much!" Ophelia propped herself up, placed her hands on Bexia's shoulders, and looked into his eyes.

"Why did you choose to be a legion commander here?" Bexia asked.

"I am the heir to the throne in my heart. Coming to Dark Border is the test I must endure. Every successor has to go through the same thing, even in other countries. It is the trial that the heirs to the throne of various countries on the continent must experience in order to understand the situation in Dark Border and maintain peace and stability on the continent." Ophelia explained.

Bexia was surprised to hear this. He hadn't thought that there was such a deep meaning behind it. Perhaps experiencing it personally would leave a deeper impression. If a large-scale continental war were to erupt under such circumstances, it would indeed be a death wish.

"The situation in Dark Border is much more complicated than what ordinary people know. Countless people have explored that area from ancient times till now. But there are still large areas that have never been explored, and even some places that were once called 'forbidden grounds' by the elves!"
