Chapter 15 Yudal's Invitation

The sound of battle rang out between the battlefield, and the remnants of the Third Legion finally escaped back into Alliance City. The monsters outside the city suffered heavy losses under countless magical cannons and were ultimately eliminated by the combined forces of Yudal and the defending army.

"Ophelia, are you alright?!" Bexia looked at the pale-faced Ophelia and quickly supported her, asking.

"I'm fine, just a bit exhausted. I'll be fine after resting for a few days!" Ophelia's body went limp, leaning directly on Bexia's embrace. After days of tension, her nerves finally relaxed. She was truly physically and mentally exhausted.

"Ophelia, you're tired. Just sleep for a while!" Seeing Ophelia closing her eyes, Bexia reached out and stroked her blood-stained hair, then carried her in a more comfortable position for sleep.

At this moment, Kono hurriedly came over. Bexia shook her head at him, signaling him not to make any loud noise, and glanced at Ophelia before saying, "Ophelia is asleep, let her rest properly."

"Okay!" Kono nodded and looked at Bexia, whose relationship with Ophelia was closer than he had imagined. He knew Ophelia wouldn't just lie down and sleep in a man's arms unless there was a high level of trust.

Originally, Kono thought being a disciple of Bor was already impressive, but now it seemed that Bexia was the future prince of the kingdom! He didn't even know that there was someone of the same age as Ophelia who could get so close to her.

"Brother, is this Ophelia?" Sakuya tugged at Bexia's clothes and looked at the sleeping Ophelia, full of admiration. She had witnessed the intense battle outside the city just now, so she idolized Ophelia greatly.

"Yes! When she wakes up, I'll introduce you to her." Bexia turned his gaze to Kono and asked, "Take me to where Ophelia is staying. I can't keep carrying her like this all the time, right?"

"Oh... follow me!" Kono snapped out of his thoughts and naturally showed more goodwill towards Bexia. After all, he could potentially become the prince of the kingdom.

Following Kono, they arrived at Ophelia's mansion. As a princess, she naturally had the privilege of living alone, and she was also the commander of the legion, so she couldn't escape having her own large villa.

Seeing the princess coming back, the maids of the villa hurriedly ran out to welcome her. But when they saw Bexia carrying Ophelia, they were all stunned. What was going on? Ophelia, who usually showed no interest in other young talents, was actually being carried back by a man?

But they didn't pay much attention to it and focused on welcoming the princess instead. However, just as Ophelia was handed over to the maids, she woke up. But by then, she was already in her own room, and the maids had already undressed her and put her in a hot bath.

"Where am I?" Ophelia was still a little confused.

"Princess! This is your room."

"Oh! It's Joanna, right? By the way, where is the person who brought me here?" Ophelia remembered falling asleep leaning on someone.

"Is Princess referring to the adult with black hair? He left with Captain Kono!" Joanna, the maid, said.

"Left... oh well, I'll go find him later!" Ophelia felt that she couldn't run away anyway, so she decided to wait until she recovered before looking for him. Besides, Bexia might come looking for her.

"If he comes looking for me, just bring him here. He is my personal guard!" Ophelia said.

"Alright, Princess!" Joanna nodded and started to clean Ophelia's hair and the bloodstains on her body. It took several changes of bathwater to wash away the smell of blood from Ophelia's body, and in the meantime, Ophelia fell asleep comfortably in the warm water.

At this moment, Bexia followed Kono back to the city gate. The guards were rescuing the casualties of the Third Legion, many of whom were injured. The dedicated doctors among the guards were treating them.

Then, someone unexpected suddenly descended from the sky, causing a huge gust of wind and kicking up dust on the ground. The sound of metal boots colliding with the stone pavement could be heard.

"General Yudal!" Kono saluted the figure that had landed. General was a high-ranking military title, and the number of generals in the Asman Kingdom was limited. The person in front of them was the commander of the First Legion of Asman and also the first commander of Asman Kingdom in the Dark Border. He could be considered the highest-ranking official here, even Ophelia, the princess, had to obey his orders.

He was also Ophelia's uncle and one of the dukes of the kingdom. Although he didn't have the champion level, the Adventurers Guild still bestowed him with the reputation of "Sky Knight".

Yudal, who had descended from his flying dragon, stood up slowly. All the soldiers uniformly saluted him. This was not just a formality; their eyes were filled with admiration.

"Are you interested in joining my legion, young man?" Yudal's first words caught Bexia off guard.

"General, he is Princess's personal guard!" Kono stepped forward and said.

"...and a disciple of Mr. Bor!"

"Oh! I thought I had found a good prospect, but it seems my niece beat me to it!" Yudal didn't have any other reaction after hearing that, he just smiled at Bexia and said, "You are quite impressive, young man. Ophelia mentioned you to me before, but seeing you in person, I realize you are even better than she described. If you don't mind, you can call me uncle, just like Ophelia does."

Yudal's words were surprising. What did he mean by asking him to call him uncle like Princess does? Was he indirectly implying their relationship? But as a personal guard... thinking about the rumors surrounding Princess, she didn't have any interest in young men from noble families. However, with the sudden appearance of a personal guard, even without much thought, it was clear that their relationship was not ordinary. Moreover, many people had seen him holding Ophelia before. The reason behind that was intriguing.

But they misunderstood Yudal's intention. Although there was a hint of ambiguity, most of it was based on the information he had obtained. Ophelia always said that she considered Bexia as a little brother. He also remembered their little mischief earlier. Even though Bexia was taken in as a disciple by Bor, having a commoner as a little brother was a bit absurd for a princess.

However, today he had been observing Bexia in the sky for a long time, and had also come to realize Bexia's eccentricities. Previously, Ophelia had praised his talent without reservation, but after seeing the person in real life, Yudal felt shocked because Ophelia had clearly underestimated this person.

Similarly, he also agreed that Bexia indeed had the qualifications to obtain Ophelia's affection!
