Chapter 27: The Ghost Ship
update icon Updated at 2025/3/20 3:10:12

"After a long time passed, one day someone suddenly saw a big ship on the coast. It came with the sea mist, with the flag of a pirate crew flying high on the mast. The ship seemed to be alive, slowly sailing. When the person was about to catch up and see what was going on, the ship suddenly disappeared, without a trace!"

"Later, rumors spread that it was because the people on the pirate ship still had some obsession with the treasure onboard even after they died. They turned into ghosts and continued to guard their shared treasure!"

"But this has nothing to do with us, right?" Bexia was puzzled as to why he would be afraid, or why he would have an eager desire to explore when he heard such things. The surrounding passengers also had expressions of curiosity.

"Are you trying to find those treasures?!" the sailor exclaimed in horror. "If you encounter a ghost ship on the coast, it's no big deal. But once you encounter it at sea, it means you've been targeted by the ghost ship."

"Boom!" Just as the sailor was saying this, the whole ship suddenly shook violently. In the surrounding mist, a huge black shadow appeared. The flag on the algae-covered mast, which depicted the head of a crocodile, was particularly prominent. At the same time, a chilling feeling rose from their feet to their heads, causing their hearts to tremble involuntarily.

"We really encountered...a ghost ship!" The sailor's voice trembled, and he felt his back suddenly drenched in cold sweat.

"Is this the ghost ship?" Bexia looked at the enormous object in front of him. This so-called ghost ship was several times larger than the ship they were currently on, like a sea monster.

"Woo woo woo!" A voice seemed to come from nowhere, like the wailing of a resentful spirit, or perhaps the sound of the wind blowing. In any case, at the same time, everyone felt a bone-chilling coldness that penetrated their souls.

"Avoid! Avoid quickly!" The voice of the first mate shouted. Seeing that the two ships were about to collide, the helmsman immediately steered frantically. Although they managed to avoid a head-on collision with the ghost ship, the friction of the sides caused the entire ship to groan, with wood chips flying and large sections of the hull being crushed.

"Oh no, the left power unit is damaged, not enough power!"

"The left wing is broken, unable to turn properly!"

"And it seems like something is dragging the ship, we can't move now!" the sailor shouted to report the situation to the first mate.

"Could this be the curse of the legendary ghost ship? Any ship targeted by a ghost ship will eventually be eaten and become part of them!"

"Help! I don't want to be eaten!"

"Look at that thing?!" Someone exclaimed, looking in the direction of the ghost ship. A huge black shadow swept over from the ghost ship, like a dark mouth tearing at the ship.

"Damn it! The ship can't move at all now!" The helmsman gritted his teeth. If you look from a distance, you can see that both ships are now covered in a layer of black aura, as if they are stuck together.

"We're doomed! We're all going to die here today!"

"I've just been born not long ago, I don't want to die!"

"I haven't married my wife yet...!"

For a while, everyone on the ship fell into despair. Most of them were originally crew members of the ship, who had known about the terrifying legends of the sea since they were young. How could they fear something like this?

On the other hand, many of the passengers remained silent. Although some of them were also scared, as the situation now was too bizarre, it couldn't help but give people a sense of psychological unease. However, a few people were looking at the ghost ship in a daze, as if contemplating something.

"Shut the hell up!!" A loud roar resounded, and seven or eight unfamiliar figures emerged from below deck, led by a man as sturdy as a tower. He carried a thick sword on his shoulder, emanating a chilling aura from head to toe.

That was killing intent! It was something that only appeared after continuous slaughter, and if used well, it could have a deterrent effect and also be a mental attack. However, this killing intent also needed to be controlled. If it was allowed to develop freely, one would eventually be consumed by it and become bloodthirsty.

"Captain, something's not right!" The first mate respectfully reported to the man.

"I know!" The man waved his hand and frowned at the ghost ship stuck together.

"Hissss!" Someone gasped in surprise and pointed at the man, tremulously saying, "He's 'Bloody Tank Bude,' the wanted criminal from three years ago!"

"Hmm?! I didn't expect someone to recognize me." The man known as Bude turned and looked at the man who spoke, while a crew member behind him made a gesture of touching his neck.

"Do you want it or not, boss?"

The surrounding crew members all took out their weapons, ready to attack at any moment.

"What do you want to do?" Someone looked at them with fear, especially Bude and the people behind him, because they were the strongest ones present.

"Hahaha! Don't always think about killing, put your weapons down, don't scare our guests." Bude laughed loudly, but his words made the hearts of those present chill.

"Besides, if you kill them, who will help us navigate?" Bude looked towards the ghost ship, and with this remark, everyone present was stunned.

"Boss, do you really want to go up there?" Someone still cared about the creepy legend of the ghost ship, after all, that kind of thing was too bizarre.

"Do you want to hide forever?" Bude said, "If there really is a lot of treasure on that ship, as long as we get a portion of it..."

Bude's words made them pause, as he pointed out the truth. Who would want to hide in such a dark and eerie place all their lives? They just lacked enough strength. And now, they were facing a big opportunity, albeit dangerous. For those who lived by the knife, taking risks was no big deal.

Why should one drift aimlessly through life, when one can strive and leave a mark? Who knows what the outcome will be without giving it a shot?

"Since the boss wants to go up, we'll go up together!" The others also nodded. After years of life and death, they did everything together.

"Then let's go up and find out what secrets this ghost ship holds!" Bude licked his lips, his eyes full of anticipation and excitement. He had wanted to see the ghost ship for a long time, and even did some research on it...
