Hong Wen looked at the computer screen in front of him, feeling a little dizzy. He had been working on this transmission diagram for three nights, working overtime for two days straight. His body was starting to give in, and his vision was becoming blurry. He covered his heavy head and muttered to himself.
"Let me sleep for a while, just ten minutes~"
But in his drowsiness, it seemed like someone was calling him.
"Norfy~ Wake up~ Norfy, the Star of Destiny has arrived~"
The voice was gentle and pleasant, like a beautiful girl whispering in his ear. Hong Wen couldn't help but open his eyes, but what he saw bewildered him. It was a strange world!
"What place is this? Why am I floating in the sky?"
He looked at his transparent body, as if made of clouds in the sky, while on the vast land, there was a peculiar battlefield.
On one side, there were rows of steam tanks emitting white smoke, with humans and fish people wearing heavy armor standing in formation, accompanied by dwarves wielding firearms and elves with bows and arrows. On the other side, there were endless demonic flames. They swung their weapons, flapped their wings, and the longswords in their hands burned with raging fire as they roared towards the human defenses.
Inside a command vehicle, a handsome young man opened the top cover and took out a telescope to observe the approaching enemies from the sky. He then said something on the intercom, and countless propeller planes swiftly descended from the clouds, trailing white streaks as they poured bullets into the dense demonic legion.
On the ground, steam tanks spewed fire, fireballs lit up in the distance, but it did nothing to stop the advance of the demons. Magicians with pointed hats joined the battle, invoking spells of gales, storms, meteor showers, and lightning, as the steel legion clashed fiercely with the flaming messengers.
"What is this? A dream? A game?"
Hong Wen touched his face, but felt no sensation.
"Indeed, it is a dream."
"This is the future I have foreseen, and it is your destiny, Norfy~"
The gentle voice rang out again, and Hong Wen looked up, captivated by the appearance of the white-haired beauty.
"I-I'm Hong Wen, not Norfy."
But the girl smiled and shook her head.
"No, you are Norfy."
Then she pointed to the chaotic battle below and said slowly.
"This world needs your power, the Star of Destiny."
Hong Wen looked at the fierce battle below, and suddenly a plane passed by. A pursuing demon violently whipped its flaming whip, slicing the plane in two. The ground was flooded with a torrent of steel, relentlessly pushing forward. He asked in confusion.
"My power? What is it?"
The girl opened her arms, and a crimson vortex suddenly appeared in the sky. A gigantic parachute opened in mid-air, bursting with blinding light, illuminating everything like daylight.
"All of this is your power, Norfy. You shall lead the steel legion and save this world from the flames."
Hong Wen jolted awake. The familiar computer desk had disappeared, replaced by an old room with dim flickering candlelight. He was lying in bed drenched in sweat, his body aching all over.
A voice filled with excitement suddenly came, as the butler with stubble on his face exclaimed.
"Young Master Norfy! You've finally awakened! Sir, Young Master has awakened!"
But Hong Wen seemed to have completely forgotten the strange dream he just had. Looking at his own hands and clothes, he was filled with terror.
