Chapter Eleven
1
All of us were in the main control room of the Azure Sky Carrier, looking through the panoramic screen at the white and blue sky, the sparsely clouded sea surface, and the deep cratered land below, which was the flipped nuclear radiation zone. There wasn't a trace of green grass in the air, making it a bit difficult but not impossible to restore vegetation.
"This island is huge, about two thousand kilometers, right?" Perra was very happy to have acquired a piece of land, marking the entire island with her Magic and protecting it so that no one could steal it for now.
I gazed around the island and said, "The small island group over there by Perra can also be added, but there must be a peace agreement with humans beforehand. Otherwise, it would be more trouble than it’s worth if humans band together to attack."
"Will you help me? We are allies after all."
"I've already helped you a lot, Your Majesty. I cured your bloodthirsty habits, sent you back to The Demon Realm, not to mention the price you agreed to pay me was to be my concubine~~"
"What!" The girls from the student council reacted strongly, exclaiming in unison, but the most intense reaction came from Perra, with her dagger already at my throat.
Speaking softly, Perra said, "The initial condition was to establish peace after killing the Demon Dragon. But you were originally the Demon Dragon, so it was an impossible promise to fulfill."
"Count how many times you've bitten me, and then think about how many times I've helped you. Offering myself isn't a bad idea either."
Perra and I whispered to each other, causing the girls to perk up their ears and seriously affecting the efficiency of the warship.
"Has anyone seen Tesha?" I asked, counting heads.
"She's in the armory, studying the aircraft from the Sītú family." Qin Ying connected to the armory through the communication station, and Tesha's silver hair obscured the scene.
"So...Tesha, Tesha."
"What? What are you all doing?" Tesha had a pen in her mouth, looking very focused on something she couldn’t understand.
Qin Ying asked her how the research on the aircraft in the armory was going.
Tesha pulled out a piece of paper from the data, covered with dense system codes. According to Tesha's research, the string of code on the paper was the most special in the entire system, with a high variability that could potentially overturn the entire operating system once triggered. It was uncertain whether it was the system's adaptability or evolution. The only sure thing was that the difficulty of activation was very high, and it needed a special kind of Magic to have a chance to trigger this code.
The contrast between the new and old codes was like night and day. Tesha had not fully understood the system's generation process in a short time, only grasping a source and a result.
Tesha believed this was the system evolving, to a degree unreachable by even artificially adjusting the operator’s compatibility. If Tesha could fully decipher this code to reduce the triggering conditions, more humans could receive help from the evolving system, becoming super warriors.
"Who wrote this code? It would be easier if we could find the developer."
"Qin Yang, I'm afraid you'd have to go to the underworld. He wrote everything from the base code to the original system alone. Unfortunately, he died long ago, probably reincarnated twice by now. During the bottleneck of digital Magic, the development was halted, and nobody cared about his program or knew how much the system had changed. There is little information available, and subsequent systems were all modifications of the original system. The first modification was done by the programmer at the Sītú family, the system programmer of the experimental aircraft, who would know more."
"The original system developer turns out to have been a genius."
Ten minutes later, the control room received a soldier's report, carrying with it a piece of extraordinary news—Othrie was surrounded. Due to the information blockade from The Divine Realm, we were unable to ascertain the specific situation within the empire, prompting the firing of a main cannon to gain intelligence. Subsequently, the flagship trembled, its energy unstable, and the propulsion system fell silent.
"Captain, the energy chamber's efficiency is decreasing..."
"Captain, the main cannon worked just now, the scanners received images from the skies above the imperial capital..."
Without a word, everyone in the control room shifted their gaze towards the screen, witnessing the defense Magic of the capital being deployed as the Duke of Qin, besieged by layers of Angels, was already battered. Another view showed Angel legions from all sides of the imperial borders traversing the vast Angelic spatial Magic array.
I immediately stood up, preparing to leave.
"Qin Yang, where are you going?" Qin Ying felt I had to say something at this crucial moment.
"The Magic array and dragon bone properties in the energy chamber are different, I'm going to modify the array and have Tesha assist in modifying the carrier system."
I stepped out of the control room, hesitated, then quickly retreated.
"Nofice, prepare spatial Magic, find ten soldiers skilled in Magic arrays, teleport them back to the empire to arrange the defense. I want an indestructible defense Magic... covering the entire empire."
"Master, this... will consume magic power continuously."
I extended my arm, semi-transforming my left hand into dragon form, extracting dragon scales from it.
"I don't know if my dragon scale can achieve an infinite magic state now, but it will definitely last for years. I'll use it as the core."
True dragon scales, like "floating smoke," could still function after countless millennia.
On my way to the main energy chamber, I encountered Perra again. She seemed unconcerned about the matter at hand, as Othrie did not hold any significance for her.
"Qin Yang, are you overly concerned about Othrie, considering you once ruled over both the divine and demonic worlds separately."
"Othrie must not fall, otherwise once artificial elements fall into the hands of the divine race, they will inevitably merge with the human-demons... However, what I most want to do is to use humans to save The Divine Realm."
"Save The Divine Realm?" Perra didn't understand my meaning, as humans had always relied on the balance between the divine and demonic realms for peaceful development up to this day.
"The divine race has abandoned their beliefs. After the order and light in their hearts dissipate, human hearts become complex and powerful. Once the divine heart becomes tainted by darkness, we will soon witness the collapse of The Divine Realm... If The Divine Realm's Angels mutate into monsters, it will happen even faster."
"Hurry, I received Zhao Yuansong's plea for help... the issue with the vampires in the capital." Perra suddenly became unsettled, her composure from earlier gone.
I, too, felt uneasy. Othrie's events had led to the departure of the Celestial Carrier, leaving behind a single old-style flagship under renovation. The only one capable of a fight was my father, a god-tier, while the rest of the god-tiers who were not listening to commands were likely not going to be of assistance.
In the control room, everyone was on high alert, with soldiers attired in blue combat armor awaiting Captain Qin Ying's orders.
"All combat personnel prepare to leave the ship, in teams of ten, ensuring that no one dares to approach us until power is restored," Qin Ying ordered, instructing the soldiers to leave the vessel to maintain air supremacy.
"Continue gathering frontline information, everyone be on guard... everyone, the country is surrounded, whether our homes still stand depends on us," Elena stood up as well, exchanging a glance with Qin Ying, both recalling their past conversations, trying to determine who was the true heir.
"We, the student council, are ready to advance towards the frontlines."
"Elena, this is too dangerous. They are not soldiers..." Qin Ying interrupted Elena, not believing that students from the council could be on the battlefield, killing enemies like soldiers.
"Most of the student council members have become the empire's fighting force, and with our contracts, we won't lose to these Angels!"
Qin Ying looked at the other girls, their eyes filled with longing, yearning to protect their country.
Normally, Qin Ying would have continued to argue, but the situation did not allow it. This proposal was likely the best choice at the moment, even though she feared it would displease Qin Yang.
"I will go too."
"You are the captain, you need to stay here. Qin Ying, rest assured, nobody here wants to die. Nofice, it's up to you now."
Nofice's staff struck the ground, opening more portals randomly dispersed among the major cities.
"The time has come. I will depart first. Get ready and enter when you are prepared," Nofice disappeared from the main control room.
"Qin Ying, considering the current situation, joining the front lines and utilizing the power of the contracts to buy time for Nofice to complete the Magic is the only chance. If the mothership's power is restored, strategic weapons can only be deployed from this distance to ensure safety. Is it still the aircraft carrier for close combat?"
"Qin Ying, I agree with this method of operation." Zi Liliu finally spoke up. With the student council as the focus, Elena was the supreme commander. With the Azure Sky carrier as the focus, Qin Ying was the supreme commander. With Othrie as the focus, the only one present who held that position was Zi Liliu. This status superseded the roles of student council president and captain.
"Third Princess..." Qin Ying's greatest concern was still the fear of displeasing Qin Yang, but now there was no longer any excuse to avoid it.
Imperial Capital, Duke Qin hovered in mid-air, facing the Angel spirits as they slowly descended. The teleportation process was being disrupted as many Angels got lost during transit.
"How embarrassing, to be defeated by humans," someone spoke, and Duke Qin raised his guard, as another larger Angel appeared among them, with a square face and thick eyebrows, bare-chested, giving a command to resume the teleportation.
"You..."
"The Divine Realm has more than one grand Angel."
