Chapter Seven
1
Inside the ancient building of Yu City in the Demon Realm, Pluto sat in the chairman's seat of the meeting room with the air of the most senior member. His eyes conveyed a hint of weariness mixed with authority. Nine out of the ten Demon Lords were seated here, with the Forest Lord's seat being the only empty one.
*Clap, clap!* Pluto slammed the table hard, silencing the chattering Demon Lords below.
"Pluto, what's the point of gathering us here? It's been a million years since the last negotiation," one of the Demon Lords spoke up.
"Today, Ji, we are here to quench the flames of war in the Demon Realm. Please ask your Monsters outside to keep quiet," Pluto used his slightly bloodshot eyes to glance at the perceptive king, Ji- whose Monsters were causing a commotion outside the ancient building.
"Mm." Ji closed her mouth, and the cries of the Monsters promptly fell silent.
The Dream King and the Perceptive King exchanged a glance and remarked, "All nine Demon Lords are present, except for the missing Forest Lord who has been gone for so long. How can we discuss without his presence?"
"Disco, this civil war has nothing to do with the Forest Lord. What do you need him for? To discuss Lyun's communication company business, or Baal's real estate ventures?" Pluto's authority once again prevailed. In the realm where strength and age mattered above all else, he, with his power and age, stood above the nine other Demon Lords, and in The Demon Realm, power was respected.
"Speak quickly. The war is already affecting my real estate business greatly. And you, Disco, sent the entire population of one of my cities to die in their dreams. How am I supposed to raise property prices? I demand that you ensure that the people in that city keep dreaming until the property prices go up!" Yue Wang - Baal slammed a huge axe on the table. Not a word was spoken, but the whole room trembled, leaving a cloud of dust above each King's head.
"You're a Demon Lord who has killed tens of thousands with a swing of your axe. Could you please stop talking incessantly about your real estate?" The Flame King disdainfully swiped the dust off his head.
"Hah, you work in real estate, don't you? You're the only one in The Demon Realm. Humans cry foul about your monopoly every day, specifically you, Lyun!"
"Enough! Listen to me. Before his departure, His Majesty, the Demon Dragon, advised us to behave ourselves. If you don't comply and continue to drag The Demon Realm through chaos, it makes the Underworld's task of retrieving hundreds of thousands of souls from The Human Realm all the more troublesome. Can your dead souls of the Demon races lend a hand and ease the burden a bit? With the Demon race's forces weakening, how are we supposed to confront The Divine Realm later on? Are we counting on the Fallen Angel Legion? The Divine Realm hasn't made any Angels fall for quite some time. Can you all please calm down and state your conditions peacefully..."

After an hour of discussion, the Demon Lords left the meeting room one by one, leaving only Pluto and the Fist King behind.
"It's quite amusing, Baal actually wants a city's good dreams to speculate on property prices," Yuzhai leaned back against the chair with force, placing both feet on the table. In front of Pluto, this young subordinate appeared extremely relaxed.
"The reasons for their civil war are also ridiculous; it's just a matter of Lyun's communication information leakage," Pluto closed his eyes, feeling somewhat relieved after being bothered by this group of Demon Lords all evening.
"You can't say that. I keep getting annoying calls the whole day. Sometimes, I feel so irritated that I want to pick a fight with a Demon myself, but most of the time, it's Baal's salespeople selling houses," said Yuzhai.
Pluto scratched his head, closed his eyes in confusion, "Isn't our magic transmission among the demon race sufficient? Why does the Human Realm rely so heavily on communication technology."
Yu Zé smiled lightly, "Pluto, you still don't understand. Humans have laziness, and so do the demon race. If there are things that can save effort and energy, why make oneself tired? I heard that there is a country in the Human Realm researching the use of magic as a form of currency exchange, trading magic by buying and selling it with the body as a wallet. But personally, I find it unreliable. How can something as unique as magic be exchanged at will?"
"I'm old, but who leaked the Demon King's information in the end."
"It's definitely not Lu Yun, if her company were to leak, it would have been done 800 years ago."
"Do you trust Lu Yun?"
Yu Zé asked, "If they can think of it, why can't I think the opposite? I actually find that dreamer Disko is more suspicious. He was the first to provoke it, and as you said, it's no big deal, yet he insists on having a big battle before stopping. What's the point!"
"My son recently discovered direct transmissions from the Demon Realm to the Divine Realm, possibly a Demon King," Pluto opened his eyes, telling Yu Zé mysteriously.
"Traitor, despicable!"
"It may be, no need to fully trust. By the way, how is it over in the Human Realm?"
Yu Zé swayed as he said, "Timing is very accurate. Qin Yang disappeared, internal warfare in the Demon Realm, Othrie besieged in the Divine Realm. If we intervene, we need the approval of the Demon Dragon. Although it's said like that, Forest Lord may already be unable to handle it over there. The Demon Realm is now in chaos, and... a crack has appeared in the red sky."
Pluto stared out into the crimson sky, a small crack visible. For a Demon King who had gazed upon this sky for tens of millions of years, it was clear there was something wrong.
"What on earth is happening with the crack in the sky?"
The exhaustion in Pluto's eyes was very clear to Yu Zé. The previous generation's Fist Demon King had a deep connection with Pluto, with no secrets between them. Pluto was already aging, abdication was inevitable, and Yu Zé knew this, while also keeping it confidential.
The Human Realm, the city and island of Yudao belonged to the second largest city and island of the greedy Han country. The final ship of the survivor fleet arrived at the port, and the person who walked out of this last ship was the woman in red, Luo Wei. The leader's ship docked after the civilian ships, which was a very heartwarming gesture, especially in this time of crisis.
"Originally, the people of the five countries held animosity towards Qin Yang, after all, the dragons were brought by him, but Luo Wei has cleared his name. Did Othrie and she reach some agreement?" Cui Dong leaned against the railing at the seaport, the sea breeze blowing past his ears, the sound different from that of the deserted island, making Cui Dong somewhat nostalgic.
"What can you guess, Luo Wei's position is waiting for you... Even though the deserted island is gone, our company hasn't collapsed yet. Take a day off today, report to the Yudao branch tomorrow." Li Yeh put on sunglasses and freely enjoyed the sea breeze on the harbor, one hand resting on Cui Dong's forehead, as if talking to a child.
Moana was also beside Li Yeh, silently staring at the person in black leather, Nainai. Nainai was tasked with protecting them and had not left their side for several days.
"Is there a problem?" Nainai asked her.
Moana shook her head and didn't ask, although she had many questions, she just couldn't bring herself to ask.
Cui Dong picked up the newspaper and said, "Can the pills of those two criminals really be tested? At that time, they said they were given by the God Clan, is it that powerful?"
"Othrie has samples of that medicine. The God Clan used it as a trade, Qin Yang proposed to reject it, Situ Liyao's brother was the one who took these deadly pills," Nana answered Cui Dong. She knew that Qin Yang had a somewhat negative impression among the public, so she decided to say a few words in his favor.
"Qin Yang, is he your husband? You seem to be speaking up for him," Cui Dong casually remarked, making Nana feel a bit uneasy. She pretended to be calm and nodded, saying, "Fiancé."
Mengyao and Cui Dong were surprised for a moment.
"What are you looking at? The Survivor Fleet's list is almost out, have some time to check if your relatives are on it."
"I'll see if great-grandma is on the ship."
Cui Dong turned to look at the transparent display board floating in mid-air at the port. The names were gradually displayed on the board, and the crowd by the sea gazed at the large display board. Cui Dong also started walking towards it slowly.
Moana also headed to the display board; she had friends and family on Pang Island. She knew how grand the event on Pang Island was, and at the same time, she had no idea how many relatives and friends came to Pang Island to join in the excitement. From Rowe's perspective, over sixty percent of the victims in the disaster were foreigners. Lanhann didn't blame the God Clan, so today the responsibility was even greater.
"Aunt, long time no see," Nana finally spoke directly to Li Yeh.
"I thought after over a decade you might have forgotten me, Nana."
"Just from the side, it's hard to forget how beautiful you were back then."
Nana and Li Yeh had met once before; Lilith had just been born at the time. Nana had watched Li Yeh hand Lilith to Pluto in The Demon Realm with her own eyes. Except for the Guer family, no one else had seen Li Yeh.
"Nana, I hope you continue to help me keep the secret, but perhaps you won't need to keep it for much longer."
"Really? Lilith will be delighted."
Li Yeh put on her hat, and her hair was tousled by the sea breeze, but the hat kept her hairstyle intact.
"Will she hate me?"
Nana comforted her with a pat on the shoulder. Nana hoped she wouldn't have any reservations. Over the years, Lilith was the one Nana cherished the most. Even more than her own siblings, perhaps it was because Nana knew the truth about Lilith, so she paid extra attention to her, or maybe she really liked her little sister who looked like she would never grow up.
Li Yeh and Moana were already safe after arriving at Yudao, but she didn't leave right away; instead, she stayed by their side for several days.
With Nana by her side, Li Yeh left the port and entered the temporary residence. Before long, she would be starting a new job, as a disaster relief ambassador. From charity performances to donations, and comforting disaster victims, there were many tasks ahead, and it wasn't the first time for her to do this kind of work.
"Jiang Moana actually has potential, but she just doesn't know it," Li Yeh and Nana began to chat.
"Aunt, if Moana can replace you, can Lilith finally meet you formally?"
"Perhaps, she needs more confidence. The person who can give her confidence is probably hard for her to come by. Life is always full of regrets." Li Yeh smiled at Nana, who understood exactly whom she was referring to.
"I hope she won't encounter that person again; he is really dangerous for her. She doesn't have the ability to protect herself, and we all only have one life. Moana has not reached the point of sharing life and death with him."
"Lilith is hanging out with this dangerous person again, and Ras actually agreed."
"The old demon king won't go against his will, especially my old man at home."
Liyeh had a bit of a confused feeling. The old demon king scared of a young man? It always felt like Nana was joking, but she had seen Qin Yang before, and the Dragon Clan indeed could make the demon king wary.
Nana didn't speak, accompanying Liyeh into the house...
