Chapter 29

1

In the central part of the capital of the Lanhun Kingdom, a very spacious ancient palace was set up for the highest level reception of the divine race. The noble and elegant hall had a half-wet, long-haired girl sitting in the center. She had just washed her hair and felt very refreshing, but her eyes still looked weary.

"I have arranged for the other clan members to leave. Those who have come this time are not the combat-savvy intelligent divine beings. We need to take more care of them in this unexpected situation." Hisa poured a glass of water and placed it in front of Elena.

"Uncle, did father really not say anything before he left?"

"It's alright. Big brother was indeed angry about the last incident, but that had nothing to do with you and Qin Yang." Hisa bent down in front of Elena, his love for his niece evident on his face and in the touch of his hand on her forehead. There was nothing he could do about it. Who asked his niece to become so fond of accompanying him? It seemed that she had spent more time with him than with her father. Hisa is still single to this day, and everyone in The Divine Realm knows that he likes Nia, even though she has long been married to Qin Fengyu.

"I've been feeling lost lately." Elena held the glass of water with both hands.

"Tell me about it."

"I... I don't know how to say it, but I always feel empty here. Am I sick?" Elena pointed to her chest, feeling very low. Every time she saw Qin Yang, she felt uncomfortable, but she couldn't explain why.

"Why don't you try to feel it?"

"Feel it? I don't know where it is."

"About Qin Yang? I think so. That guy has always been particularly concerned about you."

Elena started to feel a bit agitated.

"I really don't want to think about him. It should be... Lord Shenglong! It shouldn't be him."

"Elena, I am your uncle, but I am not a mind reader. As you grow up, more and more things fill your mind. All I can give you is my experience. So listen to your own voice. If you don't do that, you will only feel worse."

"Have you listened to your own voice, Uncle?"

"I know what you want to say. I tried, but my heart doesn't belong to me. There's nothing I can do about it. Your situation is different."

"No, this isn't my voice!"

Hisa still lovingly embraced Elena and whispered in a voice she couldn't hear, "You will gradually understand. I don't know when you'll be able to recover to how you were before."

Hisa was not blind. He could see Elena's changes, but there was nothing he could do to change it. It was beyond his ability.

"Rest early. We have things to do tomorrow. We haven't found out about that day's incident yet, and the visitation group's itinerary has already been disrupted. We need to at least resolve this matter for our trip not to be in vain."

"That day..."

Elena recalled seven days ago when she was sitting in the middle section of the plane. That was the exact spot where the unidentified object had collided. The object came rushing towards her in a blink of an eye, surrounded by flames. She couldn't see what was inside because it was completely engulfed. There were rumors connecting the incident to Qin Yang, but there was no evidence to bring it out in the open. So, for the past seven days, she had been waiting for the six nations to collect data and uncover the truth. But the divine race wouldn't just wait idly for the truth. They would undoubtedly search for it discreetly.

"It's all because of that despicable thing." Elena closed her eyes and leaned against the back of the bench, taking a deep breath. As a Valkyrie, she carried the belief of others, and the invisible pressure made it difficult for her to find relief. But she was not the type of person who could be easily defeated. At least the Dragon Maiden was not so weak. The biggest pressure she felt was carrying the belief of her enemies. This world is truly strange.

After Hisa carried her young niece back to Elena's room and came out, she encountered a woman wearing a light blue dress.

"Hisa, still awake?" The woman walked alongside Hisa.

"Yuki, you haven't changed your clothes all night. Are you going out?"

Yuki was the daughter of the Minister of Finance for the Gods, and she had known Hisa since childhood.

"After all, this is not our own home. Once we step out of the room, we can't act freely. Your niece must be tired; those old folks in the team have been giving her a hard time."

Moonlight streamed in through the window, filling the room with a serene atmosphere. But none of the people living here were able to enjoy this comfort.

"Being stubborn and acting like an old person is not unique to humans. When we live to a certain age, we probably become like that too."

"Don't compare me to those old folks, okay? They get frightened over every little thing and insist on discussing it, which delays our journey."

"It's the nature of girls to avoid the word 'old.'"

"You... well, you're the same. You like Nia. Even if she's married, you still take your niece to visit her every year."

"Haha, don't make it sound like I'm having an affair. Qin Fengyu is also my friend. Visiting a friend is just a normal social interaction."

"By the way, Hisa, do you think the plane was destroyed as the rumors outside said?"

Hisa and Yuki walked out of the house and sat in the garden pavilion. The scent of flowers wafted through the garden, and from the pavilion, they could see the gate with the reputable bodyguards. In their eyes, these people were just decorations without any significant power.

"Qin Yang! He has the ability, but no reason to do such a thing. If he really did it, it wasn't intentional. This kid has always been strange. He even killed his own mother. If they hadn't found a suitable body to resurrect Nia in time, they wouldn't know what kind of relationship they have between father and son."

"So, you believe in these rumors?"

Hisa smiled and shook his head. In his mind, he had no clue who did it. However, after the remnants of "Raku" came out of that sea area, no one could prove that Qin Yang had been there. The only certain thing was that there were traces of dragon battles in the area, but only traces - a vacancy in the seabed.

"It seems that the consequences of this matter can only be borne by the six countries near that sea area."

"They won't bear it. This is not a joking matter, and we can't force them openly. The Divine Realm Council pays great attention to its image."

"Then we have to resort to those secretive methods to cause disruption. It's really childish."

"We are all working for our own families. It's up to the leaders to decide whether it's childish or not."

Yuki slowly sat down beside Hisa and lowered her head. "Hisa, don't you find your brother's actions uncomfortable?"

"My brother? What actions?"

"The actions to rebuild the faith of the Gods." Yuki raised her head, and this serious topic required a straightforward answer from Hisa.

At the same time, Yuki's hand seemingly accidentally touched the back of Hisa's hand, but Hisa deliberately avoided it.

"Well, his actions are all for the sake of the Gods, to rebuild human faith in the Gods. For us, it's only beneficial."

"A method that relies on stirring up The Human Realm and providing help to humans. I don't know why, but it just feels unsettling."

"You feel uncomfortable, but most of the gods don't have a problem, right? The council has also approved it," Hisa actually has no objection to this matter, and he does think that faith is very important to the gods. It would be great to be able to rebuild human beliefs too.

"Faith! What was it like in the legendary era of high faith?"

"That was the era before the great war between gods and demons thirteen million years ago, during our grandfathers' time. My grandfather was already gone by the time I was born, but my older brother might have heard about it. Maybe it was because he heard how tempting that era was that he tried everything to bring the gods back to that time, including researching those pills."

Snow looked at Hisa, who was lost in thought under the moonlight, and suddenly had an impulse. She wrapped her arms around Hisa's head and gently held his head against her chest as she softly said, "If that era comes and we are still young and single, will you marry me?"

Hisa took a deep breath and slowly said, "If that era comes and I have let go of my fantasies, then I will promise you."

Snow let go of Hisa, feeling a bit embarrassed after her impulsive words. She turned her face away from Hisa's gaze, and the awkwardness slowly dissipated during the silence of the night. At that moment, a gust of wind blew, and Snow felt a chill.

"Put this on." Hisa took off his coat and put it on Snow.

Snow suddenly stood up, holding onto the collar of the coat, and whispered, "Go to bed early."

Hisa sat alone in the pavilion, looking at the sky as dark clouds slowly covered the moon. These black clouds were like the thoughts in Hisa's heart, his fantasies shattered after eighteen years, but he still couldn't make up his mind to let go.

Unconsciously, Hisa fell asleep in the pavilion until dawn.

In the sea area where the six kingdoms meet, among the thousands of islands, one of them looks like a crescent moon. A wolf-headed humanoid monster slowly walked out of the water and stepped onto the beach, dragging a massive object behind him with a long staff.

It was a giant white shark, but this was a Monster because when the blood of the shark flowed out, it stirred up the water element.

This was an Anubis statue, one of the twenty-seven statues. With a swipe of his staff, he extracted the heart from the shark's belly, swallowed it in one bite, and with the power of the Monster, his wolf head transformed into a human face.

The transformed Anubis statue stared at the faces on the rippling water through the moonlight. He felt strange because the face seemed to be his own, but at the same time, he felt unfamiliar. He was just a fragment of a soul, so it was already good enough that he could remember his own past face.

"Guffy," Anubis spoke to the water surface.

Suddenly, Anubis looked behind him. Whether it was because he was too focused on his own face or because there was really nobody there to catch his attention, there was a fat one-eyed man sleeping soundly on the beach. Moreover, this fat man was completely naked. But when Anubis approached him, the man suddenly sat up, his one-eyed glowing red dazzlingly.

"Ah..." Anubis cried out in pain under the moonlight.
