Chapter 3

1

At nine o'clock in the evening, the Imperial Banquet was in full swing at the palace. The majority of the people in the entire imperial city were focused on the palace. Various live broadcasts allowed people on the road, in rooms, and in cars to be engaged. In an era of double development of the internet and magic, journalists can uncover everything. The secret has become increasingly difficult to keep, but someone took advantage of everyone's attention and boldly established a large underground cellar in the busiest area of the empire.

A disheveled person walked through the gates of the underground cellar. This person was covered in dirt and had a long and ugly scar on his face. He held a bottle of wine in his hand and walked with a light step. Even when his stumbling footsteps accidentally bumped into passersby, they only brushed off the dirt from their body and left with disgust. A homeless person walking into an underground cellar would only make people think he was someone who dwelled underground.

The underground cellar had a dim and dark corridor. A figure came out, holding a candle in his hand. Although the corridor was fully lit, he still insisted on lighting a candle.

"Where is the person?" the homeless person asked when he saw the figure.

"He's already inside, but sir, that person is not obedient at all."

"Huh, a god-tier, used to being a master."

The homeless person walked into the underground cellar. Inside, there were a dozen people standing in groups of three or two, all looking nervous and on high alert. Suddenly, a woman accidentally spilled a pile of white paper, covered in densely written text that had been rewritten again and again.

"Why are you all so nervous? We still have time," the homeless person said as he walked past the woman. He took a glance at the platform in the middle of the room, then entered another room.

"He's inside," someone said.

"What about Huan and Yu?"

"After Angel-Protectors Huan and Yu brought people back, they haven't left."

"They didn't slack off today, how rare." The homeless person looked at the room, observing the twelve-winged Angel flying and spinning in the sealed space. Two sticks mercilessly beat a man, preventing him from easily using his magic to manipulate funds. However, the man refused to give up.

When the man saw another person enter the sealed room, he instinctively made a move to attack the homeless person, attempting to break through the defense of the two Angels.

"In times of crisis, human intuition always leads to the wrong decision!" the homeless person suddenly appeared behind him. In fact, behind the homeless person was the only exit of the room. After the homeless person disappeared, the man charged forward, but the homeless person firmly held the man's head with his five fingers and forcefully swung him backwards, smashing him against the wall. The tremendous impact shook the room.

"Who... are you!" The man spat out blood, asking a question with difficulty.

The homeless person disappeared again, leaning in close to the man's face. "Allen Brandt."

"Space... Magic! Great... God!" The man noticed the scar on Allen's face had instantly disappeared, and he now looked similar to a middle-aged human.

"You chased me for three days..."

"Not bad, it took them three days to catch up to you. Among the god-tier, you're quite good."

The man launched another attack suddenly, his figure flickering, his speed extremely fast. However, not even two seconds passed before both identical men crashed into the wall simultaneously.

"Doppelgänger? Your speed is impressive, but your strength is too weak. Even after two punches, I don't feel a thing."

Indeed, this man's ability was specifically designed for survival, using doppelgängers to confuse others and escaping with speed. However, humans cannot develop balance in all aspects of their bodies.

"What do you want!"

"Originally, I didn't want anything. I just wanted to test their competence by bringing you back. Do you know them? They're lazy and careless in their work every day, just the two of them." Allen pointed to Angel behind him. The one holding the red staff was Huan, and the one holding the white staff was Yu. They were all code-named by a single character given by the Brandt family.

Looking at their embarrassed expressions, Allen smiled and said, "But they didn't disappoint me. Even though it took three days, they still caught you."

"Before being hit by their staffs, I...as someone who can rule over a city, would never have been caught!" The man was extremely angry. He didn't even consider that getting hit by their staffs would temporarily hinder his magic power and weaken his abilities too much.

"That's how their staffs work."

"You said originally, so what do you want me to do now?" The man realized he couldn't escape and could only cooperate.

"Experiment."

"Experiment?"

"Take him out!" Allen gestured to Huan and Yu, instructing them to take the man out.

The red and white staffs transformed into long whips, binding the man and taking him out. They threw him onto the platform outside. When Allen also stood on the platform, a magic formation appeared on the ground, creating a barrier.

"Hey, what are you all doing? What are you doing!"

Allen took a bottle from the hands of those who were preparing. Inside were capsules.

"I didn't want to use you directly, but since Othrie refuses to accept these drugs, I have no choice but to use you for testing."

"What is this? You want me to take it?"

"Don't worry, after taking it, you will breakthrough and surpass all divine levels."

"Then why don't you take it yourself?"

"What's the use of me taking it? I want to know what happens when humans take it. Even those high-ranking saints are useless. Now I lack experimental subjects and the progress has been dragging on for too long. I can't delay it anymore, so I can only use someone of your divine level for testing."

Allen ordered the two Angels to restrain the man, opened the bottle cap, poured the medicine into the man's mouth, and covered their mouths. His eyes looked ahead as he whispered in the man's ear, "I hope you can hold on, but if you can't, remember who made me use you for testing, it's Qin Yang!"

After forcibly swallowing the pill, the man became agitated. His limbs became powerful, and a surge of magic power burst out from his body. Allen and the others immediately left the platform. The man's fists hammered the barrier, causing the whole structure to shake violently, and his heart was pounding heavily.

"The situation doesn't look right, let me see your prescription." Allen calmly took the prescription and carefully examined it for completeness, not missing any details. Then he turned and conjured an image from the wall, showing the production process of the medicine.

"Sir, you know how cautious I am in my work. I followed the prescription completely, without any omissions."

"Then keep watching." Allen continued to observe the man. The intensity of his magic power continued to rise, but in Allen's eyes, the amplification was still not enough.

"Bring another bottle!"

"Sir! He will die!"

"Bring...it!"

The person who just spoke didn't say anything else and took out another bottle of pills. Allen used spatial magic to enter the barrier and continued to make the man swallow the pills.

Under the influence of the drugs, the man's body constantly split into limbs and a head, eventually connecting again. He desperately tried to control his body, his struggling expression extremely ferocious. Each of his heads glared at Allen with bloodshot eyes, and finally, he rapidly multiplied until he filled the entire barrier!

"Qin...Yang!"

"Slap, slap..." The grotesque scene startled the staff, both men and women, their faces pale and some even vomiting. The internal organs were so mangled that it was hard to tell one from another.

"The effects at the Divine Level are better than the previous experiments. That will do. Get someone to examine the body, and clean up while you're at it. We're returning to The Divine Realm tomorrow," Allen said, placing the prescription he held in his hand.

"Ma...Master, is the dosage this time a bit too high?"

"The magic amplification didn't even reach 80% of our expectations. Do you think it's too much?" The staff didn't reply. They didn't want to be the next test subjects.

"I originally wanted The Human Realm to conduct the experiments for me, but who would have thought that Qin Yang would discover it. Who exposed all this to him?" Allen crushed a bottle on the ground with his foot and left the basement.
