Chapter 24
1
I wandered aimlessly, unsure how long or how far I had walked, until I began to notice more and more people around me.
"I just...saw the sun, am I drunk?" I heard a voice, tinged with alcohol.
"You...must be drunk, it's past midnight, look how high the moon is!"
"Oh, it seems...it's the moon...hey! Kid." Two people with alcohol breath stood in front of me.
The drunkard stared at my face, looked around, and laughed, "Only...a teenager, but already better at having fun compared to us back in the day."
"Yes, a charming young man~~ Hahaha."
I pushed past them and continued walking forward. There were more and more drunkards like this, and I knew that people who didn't go home in the middle of the night were all like this.
I raised my head and realized that I had wandered into a place where a sixteen-year-old should not have come. Flashing neon lights adorned the extravagant world of the bar street. This was not only the largest bar street in the capital, but also a place where men and women dressed provocatively stood in front of various bars, engaging in flirty conversations. Drunken disturbances were unavoidable, often resulting in a chaotic display of magic. Passersby were all intoxicated and unruly.
I used to dislike coming to places like this, noisy and disgusting, but today it seemed to be the right choice. In the midst of the chaos, standing here made me feel somewhat calm, although I still couldn't escape the shadow in my heart. My body felt uneasy all over. I casually glanced at a bar, turned around, and suddenly two people stood before me.
"Hey, young man, you need some strength to enter here."
"Where do you see that I lack strength?"
"Hey, I'm not talking about money, I'm talking about power...do you see what it says at the entrance? Only Saints and Dogs are not allowed in."
"Are you asking me to make a move? I'm afraid of violence." Today was the worst day for me, Bai Qin Yang, since becoming human. Rationality had gradually abandoned me tonight, whereas on other days, I would have just laughed and walked away.
"Hey! Kid, don't act so arrogant. We're just the security guards, don't make things difficult for us."
"Security guards for Saints, your boss is really extravagant! But soon, Saints will be all over the streets!" Suddenly, a rush of air flowed beneath my feet, as wind blades casually danced about. From the entrance to the bar counter, I made my way through the shattered glass, stepping on broken pieces to reach the counter. I forcefully knocked on the table.
The bartender trembled as he stood up, wiped the table, and said nervously, "A God-ranked customer, what...what can I get you to drink?"
"You...step aside," I pointed at the bartender and then waved my hand to the side, before finally pointing behind me, "He'll take care of it."
Glass shards flew through the air and magically reassembled themselves as a few glasses appeared in the palm of the person standing behind me.
"What would you like to drink, Father!" Coyalu, with his tall figure, stood in front of the bar counter. He arranged the glasses in an orderly manner and put two cocktail shakers in front of him. He poured some ice into one of the glasses and delicately placed decorations on top.
A middle-aged man calling a young boy "Father" immediately drew everyone's attention.
"I want something that can make me drunk."
Coyalu locked eyes with me, seeing his father's request within his father's gaze. He skillfully picked up his tools, his movements neither complex nor flashy. The strength and height of his actions were just right. The bartender who had just seen Coyalu's sequence of movements felt that an important figure had arrived.
"Here you go."
I picked up the glass with one hand, ready to drink it all in one go, but Coyalu restrained my hand.
"Slow down," Coyalu said as he gently placed the flask next to me and went to chat with a beautiful woman, the incorrigible guy.
As I picked up the glass and looked at the pale yellow liquid inside, the golden color reminded me of Elena's golden hair, her simplicity and elegance that were hard to forget, but she had forgotten about me.
"Master!" Nofice appeared by my side, his face filled with worry.
"Is the familiar contract back to normal?"
"Yes, master, it's back to normal now! But after having emotions, seeing master like this really breaks my heart."
"Elena, she doesn't remember me, no matter what I do," I turned the glass around and took a sip, feeling the burning sensation.
"It's alright, Elena will definitely come back. The problem is, master, you can't give up on her."
"Nofice... I'm scared now, scared that the next person to leave me will be you or someone else. Black and I have never experienced having something taken away from us like this, never had the word 'betrayal' appear in front of us, but Elena is the first." My mind was filled with Elena's disgusted eyes beneath the black and gold armor, her different way of speaking, and the opposite thoughts from her previously pure and kind self. What did I do to anger Marufu Ten to make him do this? Every time he appears, he purposely tries to make me stronger, but what benefit does it bring him if I become stronger? He sees through everything about me, and I can do nothing about it. That's what I can't accept. He's clearly a fake Holy Dragon, but I can't expose him. That's what I'm most unwilling to accept.
"Does the Fallen Angel count?"
"That was a punishment."
"Nofice, do you have any magic array that can replace someone in a person's memory?"
"Yes, but Elena isn't affected by the magic array in my brain. Only master knows about the Dragon Clan matters, right?"
"Marufu Ten knows, he definitely knows more than I do! There are so many things he knows that I don't, like the fact that we were both exiled dragons. Only Black and I have exiled others, who would dare to exile us." Nofice and I chatted for a while, and our train of thought seemed to have been opened up. Thinking about other things might be better.
"Master, rest assured, no matter what, I won't leave you. The other girls are the same. The magic that Elena is affected by must be very complicated. Otherwise, Marufu Ten could easily take more away from you. After all, there is a big difference in power between him and master!"
"Alright, stop ridiculing me for being weaker than Marufu Ten, okay?" I finished Marufu Ten's strong alcoholic concoction in one gulp, feeling like my brain was on fire.
Nofice stood by my side and embraced me from behind, whispering in a soft voice, "Master, it seems like I have found myself."
"Huh?" The alcohol stimulated my brain, so what I heard was a bit unclear.
"I said, I think I have found myself."
"But aren't you Nofice?"
"No, it's my previous self sealed before the Seven Stars."
"You mean those few Angels just now?"
"Yes, the oldest one said he saw me thousands of years ago." Nofice stared at me with his chin raised, his long hair lightly brushing against my ear, tickling me.
"Where is that old Angel now?"
"In the student council activity building! He's locked up with my iron chains, there's no way he can escape."
"Bring him back... Bring him back to the student council? Are you dumb? If Elena goes to the student council to get people, how would they face Elena?" I rubbed my temples. This was really a headache.
