Chapter Eight

1

"Do you enjoy the rhythm of being pounced on by fierce beasts?" The Fire Unicorn leaped off the person behind and counterattacked another random assassin. This guy was considered a summoning beast, able to choose his own target for attack without receiving further instructions from his master.

The tunnel was empty, with a lot of debris scattered around. It hadn't been used for years, so it was full of junk. The dim lighting didn't hinder the demonic creatures.

The three of them teamed up to stop my advance. Suddenly, the person on the left turned his body and his right shoulder protruded strangely. This was a powerful attacking weapon. I dodged to the right side of the motorcycle, bypassing a pale green obstacle in front of me that looked like a waste bin. The strange shoulder struck the bin, shattering it. I had to be cautious and avoid touching that guy.

These guys seemed to have the same skill set, and their running speed was not weak. At least the one who was knocked down by the Fire Unicorn had caught up with his own two feet, running on the top of the tunnel. With such agility, why would he need a motorcycle?

Someone behind casually picked up a hard stick-like object and moved at high speed. I felt a chill from behind just as the stick was about to strike. It was very fast, and I didn't have time to accelerate, so my only option was to slow down.

Leaning back parallel to the line of attack of the stick, although it was a good move, the killer's eyes were definitely not blind. When the stick appeared above my body, it was forcefully swung downward. I hit the brakes, and the speed difference allowed me to get away from the stick.

The person running above me threw a straight punch, but was once again knocked down by the Fire Unicorn. Flames ignited all over his body, the Celestial Demon's Fire. The second burn caused by the Four Divine Fires, the flames said to be the most powerful, made it extremely painful for the demon to resist!

And most importantly, when the Fire Unicorn was absorbed in his pain and his consciousness was slightly lost, he bit off his head.

"The pet I raise is truly ferocious!" Looking at the bloody scene, I couldn't help but feel emotional. But I liked it.

I started the engine again. Before the remaining three could reach the exit, I had to settle things with just one move. One person, plus a dog, no, a Fire Unicorn. I couldn't expose myself too much, and I couldn't leave anyone alive. It was quite troublesome.

A minute later, a loud roar came from the tunnel entrance. Then several blood-red electric flashes flickered, accompanied by a few blood thunderbolts, and a figure sat on the back of the black motorcycle.

"Nana."

"Hmm?"

"Be faster next time. There's something wrong with my magical power flow. I need to save it for crucial moments."

Sitting behind me was Nana. Just when I was feeling down, Nana appeared. The Fire Unicorn, Nana, and I may be evenly matched against the three assassins. We could kill them instantly.

Nana's blade was still dripping with blood, from the assassin she had just killed. As for the other one, he couldn't be found when I left under the power of the blood thunder.

"Pay attention next time!" Nana only replied with this sentence.

I stepped hard on the accelerator. Suddenly, Nana leaned forward and hugged me. There was something soft and shocking pressing against my back.

"Don't always try to take advantage of me, okay?"

"I just want to leave faster. Don't you want to? Lilith is waiting for us, right? Don't think about strange things so much."

"I'm not interested in you. Don't treat me the way you treat other girls."

"Misunderstanding, misunderstanding. I haven't been thinking about anything else from start to finish. You're just overthinking it. Can you move the blade away? It's hard to drive with it against my neck."

"After we get there, let Nofice take us back to the airport! There will be more incidents like this on the edge of the Fairy Realm. I don't want to bring more pressure to my work."

"Alright, it's safer to have a few drinks with Jack before boarding the plane."

"Jack?"

"The flight bartender."

"She came back last night smelling of alcohol, I see!"

"Oh, I ran into another acquaintance on the flight, did you intentionally arrange it this way?"

"The girl who shielded you from the flames in front of me, or the lady, she must be over a thousand years old."

"What should I say, a woman's intuition? Peregrine has been sleeping in the church for a thousand years, yet you can still tell."

"She has a scent that is very ancient."

"Really? I didn't notice anything."

"You're defenseless against beautiful women."

"Please stop mocking me."

"We can mock each other on the plane."

"It seems like they don't take the enforcers here seriously."

"At least the mastermind is a demon lord."

"You just realized that?"

On the other side of the tunnel was the Imperial Guard's newly developed area, with tall buildings creating an atmosphere of a steel city. This area, however, was barren with short trees. Such a steel-framed city appeared desolate and lifeless, but it was still spectacular because the entire new city was one connected structure.

A person stood on the frame, holding an elongated version of a katana, with the blade measuring at least two meters. The sharp edge of the blade glinted under the sunlight, silently slicing off a piece of the steel city. It was right above us.

"Should we stop?" The area that fell was quite large, so stopping now wouldn't cause much damage.

"Riders never fear the dangers ahead." The motorcycle accelerated forward, and large chunks of iron debris fell like meteorites. Dodging these objects that fell at an unknown time was the most enjoyable part.

The roaring power sound seeped through the gaps in the debris, spreading through the streets and alleys of the city, startling many people.

"Enforcers, there are unidentified demons causing trouble at the edge of the new area." In a seemingly inconspicuous office in the central part of the new area, there was a strong smell of tobacco that made people uncomfortable.

"The edge? Which side?"

"Um, the southern side."

"Involved parties!"

"A man with a katana and two non-mainstream motorcyclists, attacking a couple on black motorcycles."

"Next time, remember to be clearer so I don't have to ask again." The enforcer's patience seemed to be lacking.

"It's not my fault. The transmission of this information is too slow, apparently someone tampered with it."

"I always said that human things are not reliable."

2

"Boom!" After all the steel had completely fallen, I had moved one kilometer away. The figure that was high up did not chase after me, but another motorcycle rider appeared behind me. These two were not hulking strongmen, but rather seemed like they had come from a circus, with colorful clothes and hair.

"Wait for me ahead." Nana picked up her sword, stood on the back seat, and leapt forward. The person behind suddenly stopped horizontally and pulled out a magic gun, shooting out magical bullets.

Nana's blade swung, blocking the bullets every time. She continued to move forward, and the opponent started the motorcycle again. In the high-speed space, Nana was like a persistent devil, constantly attacking but unable to get rid of her. The sound of the clash between the blade and the gun was crisp.

The remaining person charged forward without considering the well-being of their companion behind them, as their mission took priority.

At this moment, I decisively maneuvered the motorcycle and turned around 180 degrees to face the enemy behind me. In the area filled with steel, the Thunder element was a rich and wild place.

With the Blood Thunder in hand, under the powerful electromagnetic force, the demonic bullets couldn't get close. Under the threat of lightning, the opponent was forced to dodge, and it was at this moment that I charged towards the motorcycle behind them.

The person entangled by Nana clearly knew that being surrounded was inevitable, so they lifted the front wheel of the motorcycle and jumped to the left. With the motorcycle on the right, their line of sight was blocked. It was at this moment that they aimed at Nana. At the same time, I also jumped up from the motorcycle, reaching the same height as them. With a fist containing the power of the Blood Thunder, I smashed straight into their face. Nana quickly came up with a plan. She quickly slashed the motorcycle, hitting the power source in the process. Then, she jumped on the body of the magic gunner, using him as a springboard to jump even higher, while also causing him to return to his own motorcycle, which exploded together with it!
