Chapter 1: Squadron 109
update icon Updated at 2023/7/27 7:10:12

The 109th Air Squadron is stationed in the northern part of Empire, on a Floating Island called Blue Mountain. The name of the island is probably derived from the giant blue rock on the island. This rock is primarily made of iron, a massive natural iron ore, and its blue oxide layer suggests a high iron content. However, in today's highly convenient alchemy, this iron rock seems to be of no use. With the use of high-concentration Magic Element, alchemy can transmute iron elements out of thin air, without the need to dissolve and refine this large iron mountain. And Magic Element is the most abundant thing in this world. Although the Sea of Emptiness looks like a sea of clouds, it is actually a mixture of Magic Element and water vapor, inexhaustible and boundless.

A makeshift airport is located at the northern end of the island, with a dilapidated hangar that has a collapsed roof, leaving only two barely usable structures. The rusty metal frames are covered in morning glories, and behind this lush flower sea, two mechanics are tinkering with an old and worn-out Magic Armor. It was once the main battle equipment of the Empire army, but with the start of the magic war, it has been phased out by more easily producible models. Currently, the biggest use of this Magic Armor is to provide new mechanical engineers with the opportunity to dismantle and familiarize themselves with the working principles and internal structure of Magic Armor.

On the back of the Magic Armor is a round magical mechanism called the Spirit Seed Furnace. By injecting their own magic power into the Spirit Seed Furnace through the magic circuit branded on their arm, the pilot can drive the combat armor into the air for battle. However, with the widespread use of Magic Element power reactors, no one except the old soldiers is willing to pilot this outdated unit anymore. After all, not everyone has the magical power to drive the Spirit Seed Furnace. If a weapon can only be used by a few people, then its performance is useless even if it is good.

This airport serves as the base of the 109th Air Squadron. Squadron Commander Major Rodrigue lazily lies on the office recliner with a magazine covering his face as he takes a nap. He is 27 years old this year and, thanks to his noble lineage, he is relatively handsome, especially with his flowing golden hair, which instantly attracts many girls. However, after his reputation as a womanizer spread, all the girls in town kept their distance from him.

But recently, this Major Mr. has become "dedicated," much to the surprise of his deputy, Lieutenant Selina Londebell.

Lieutenant Selina is a young woman with golden hair. Compared to her slightly aristocratic superior, she is just a commoner, with an average appearance - not beautiful but not ugly either. She usually wears glasses and puts her hair in a neat twisted bun, giving her a serious expression that scares off any man who wants to pursue her. She used to serve in the Empire's First Fleet and participated in the Fort Hurricane battle. However, at that time, she was just a civilian officer. When the flagship was ambushed and the headquarters was taken down, she happened to be on duty in the cabin, thus escaping the disaster. However, later on, Princess Felicia, who took charge of Fort Hurricane, used almost a coup-like approach to purge Fleet Admiral Meckel, Mayor Dangrel, and even eliminated a branch of the Flame Knight Order. This incident, although renowned, still alerted the nobles of the Empire. Lieutenant Selina, as a former civilian official of the First Fleet, was inexplicably sent to the 109th Air Squadron, a remote and insignificant outpost.

The wind vane at the airport hangs weakly on the flagpole. It is springtime, with beautiful weather and white clouds drifting in the blue sky. It is a perfect day for confessing love. After waking up, Colonel Logris rides a bicycle and leisurely leaves the airport. All of this did not escape the eyes of Lieutenant Selina, his staff officer. She immediately rides on another bicycle and cautiously follows him. Her promiscuous superiors have been running to the town recently. Before he causes any trouble, Selina decides to give him a punch and drag him back.

The magic war has been going on for three years now, and the Empire army is in a difficult and evenly matched battle with the forces of the self-proclaimed "Magic Kingdom Defense Army," abbreviated as the "Demon Army" in the south. The situation is worsening, and the Empire army has suffered heavy losses, losing many Floating Islands. However, Blue Mountain Island is far in the north, and the war seems like a distant event in another world to the residents here. The town is approximately three kilometers away from the airport, connected by a narrow asphalt road. In order to prevent the town from being affected in case of an attack on the airport, there is a safe distance between the two. Two mass-produced Magic Armor from the 109 Aerial Squadron flew over the head of Selena, as the new recruits piloting the Magic Armor landed unsteadily on the airport runway, ending a day of flight training. Watching their clumsy movements, Selena couldn't help but sigh. If the enemy came, would these new recruits be able to withstand it? She had seen the real ace squadron, the last elites of the Hurricane Federation Army led by Colonel Kalyus Noyenheim. They assaulted the Empire flagship, breaking through everything in their path. That was true ace aerial combat, and Selena was fortunate enough to witness their battles from inside the cockpit. Unfortunately, almost the entire squadron was annihilated, marking their final glory.

The white-walled and blue-tiled town appeared behind the hill. The roofs of the buildings here were all sharply pointed, probably to resist heavy snowfall in winter. In some bad years, the island would be attacked by ice storms, but generally, heavy snowfall was inevitable. The stone-paved streets extended to the central square of the town, where a fountain stood. On the granite pedestal of the fountain, a bronze statue of a knight stood with a sword. The square surrounding the fountain was the busiest area of the town, where many merchants did business and a variety of goods were available for selection. Roegris, who was lustful, bought a bouquet of flowers from a flower shop. Selena, who was secretly monitoring him, frowned. This guy really intended to find a woman.

Roegris did not notice the tail behind him and happily hummed a tune as he rode his bike towards the north of the town. Selena followed closely behind him, completely ignoring the curious gazes of pedestrians. After all, she was now dressed in the deep green uniform of an Empire military officer, with a rank insignia on her shoulder and a beret on her head, giving her an even more imposing presence. Where would this Empire military officer go? That's what many pedestrians couldn't help but wonder.

To the north of the town, a secluded mansion stood at the edge of a steep cliff. The white two-story building was surrounded by a stone wall made of broken stones. Through the black iron gate, one could see a lush yard, and several muscular Kunlun slaves were working in the house. These brawny men were not at all inferior when it came to delicate work. Selena hid behind a rock, using a telescope to observe Roegris ascending the steps. The mansion was purchased by a wealthy merchant three years ago, complete with proper property transfer procedures. Besides the buildings on the ground, it also included an underground dock.

Generally, wealthy merchants only bought such mansions for one purpose - to house their mistresses.

Roegris actually dared to dig into someone else's concubine. How audacious! Selena was so angry that she almost crushed the telescope in her hand. She knew her superior had a strong lustful nature, and was a true promiscuous wolf, but his audacity exceeded her expectations. While she was struggling to come up with a plan, Roegris had already knocked on the door. A few minutes later, a black-haired maid in maid attire came out to greet him.

The appearance of the maid was truly impeccable! Even dressed plainly, no one would argue if she were called a noblewoman. She was around twenty-five years old, with long, straight black hair. Under a neatly trimmed fringe, her black eyes were as deep as the night. With fair skin and a delicate face, if she wore different clothes, she would definitely be mistaken for a princess from a foreign land. Selena's heart skipped a beat as she watched through the telescope. How wealthy could this family be to employ such a maid? Or who could be so wasteful as to use such an exceptional beauty as a maid?

The black-haired maid behaved properly, elegant yet unassuming, clearly having received rigorous etiquette education. Selena stared at her intently, feeling somewhat jealous. Who could be the master of this grand mansion? This greatly aroused her curiosity. Just then, Roegris started to act. He presented the bouquet of flowers to the maid, but was politely declined. The iron gate slammed shut, leaving Roegris, with a disappointed face, outside.

Haha, serves him right! Selena felt a little relieved. But Roegris had no intention of giving up. He pushed his bike around the mansion and stopped in front of a wall covered in ivy. He put his bike aside and pulled on the ivy, testing if it could support his weight. The next scene surprised Selena. Her lazy superior actually climbed over the wall agilely like a monkey.Something big happened! Selena quickly put away her telescope and hurried towards the mansion, pushing her bicycle.

The story goes that Colonel Logris sneaked into the courtyard, looking around to make sure the muscular black-skinned slaves didn't notice him. He then quietly slipped into the house through the back door and gently closed the partially open door. He tiptoed up the stairs and into the second-floor hallway. This Colonel was not exactly a gentleman, and his purpose for sneaking in today was quite dirty - he wanted to steal a piece of the maid's underwear to take home for "research". The commander of the prestigious 109th Aviation Squadron was actually a panty thief! If the Empire military court found out, they would probably unanimously sentence him to death. However, the lustful Logris at this moment couldn't possibly think of all that; he stealthily pushed open the door at the end of the hallway, and a neat bedroom appeared before his eyes.

This room faced southeast, and the wind from the Sea of Emptiness outside blew the white curtains, creating a dance of curtains. Under those swaying curtains, a wheelchair was placed in the spot where the sunlight shone. A wheelchair? Could it be the owner of this house? Logris originally intended to quietly leave, but curiosity pulled him back. What kind of owner could hire such a beautiful maid, who was as heavenly as a goddess? Could it be an old man sitting in a wheelchair? He had to see for himself today.

"Hello?" He lightly greeted, but there was no response. The person on the wheelchair seemed to be sleeping. So, Logris quietly walked to the front of the wheelchair and saw a 12-year-old girl with lifeless eyes gazing into the distance towards the Sea of Emptiness. Her nearly pure white long hair shimmered like platinum under the sunlight. If she stood up, her hair would probably reach the floor, wouldn't it? After the shock, Logris realized that the girl didn't react at all. Her beautiful face, which seemed not of this world, gave one a sense of lifelessness, as if she were a doll.

"So, she's a doll?" Logris squatted down and gently touched the girl's hand. Although her hands were delicate, he could feel their warmth. Logris gently rolled up the girl's sleeve and saw her arm, which had already experienced muscle atrophy. She must have gotten some kind of illness to become like this, right?

Just as Logris was about to leave, a surge of killing intent rushed into the room. At the bedroom door, the black-haired maid was staring at him with murderous eyes. Standing next to her was his deputy, Selena, with a bitter smile on her face, her reproachful gaze mixed with contempt.

The black-haired maid elegantly approached the girl and respectfully knelt down before her, "My Lord, I apologize for startling you."

The girl showed no reaction, as if she were a doll. When the maid noticed her rolled-up sleeve, the killing intent in her eyes suddenly increased. With a snap, a black lacquered folding fan swiftly pressed against Logris' throat. The folding fan was completely made of black metal, and its edges were as sharp as a blade. Purple characters on it were sparkling.

"If you dare to touch my Lord again," she coldly said, "your head will roll."

Logris broke out in a cold sweat and raised his hands, retreating repeatedly. The maid took step by step towards him, her footwork impeccable, obviously having undergone rigorous martial arts training.

"Colonel," Selena stepped in to defuse the situation, "please apologize for your indecent behavior."

Apologize? A thought flashed through Logris' mind, and he quickly lowered his head, "I'm very sorry."

Although this apology seemed insincere, since the other party had made a gesture, the maid lost the upper hand. With a swish, she put away the folding fan and stood next to the motionless girl on the wheelchair with a displeased expression.

"Escort him out," she coldly declared.

Logris and Selena were forced out by two tall Kunlun slaves, each nearly two meters tall, with bulging muscles that could knock two heads off with a punch. As the iron door closed with a bang, Logris couldn't help but regret; he probably won't be able to send his flower in anymore. Looking at his dejected face, Selena's mood, on the other hand, soared. She hummed a song as she pushed her bicycle ahead, not willing to spend even a second more with this dirty guy.

For the next three days, Logris sat in his office, staring off into space as if he had lost his soul. Selena completely ignored him as she organized the training of the new recruits. The 109th Aviation Squadron had a total of 24 Magic Armors, but even the sergeants leading them had no combat experience, let alone the new recruits who lacked training. This has a lot to do with the negligence of Commander Logridis.

Selena was determined to change all of this, and she rearranged the training schedule, which resulted in a lot of complaints. The 109th Aviation Squadron was used to being lax, and everyone opposed the idea of intensifying training. Furthermore, Selena was a woman and had little authority among this group of men. Although Selena's ambitious training plan was not implemented, the new recruits still cleaned the anti-aircraft guns. Several anti-aircraft gun positions around the airport had long turned into empty storage areas, with one of them filled with water like a small pond. Thanks to the relentless efforts of our lieutenant, all the anti-aircraft guns were brought out of the warehouse, repaired and mounted on the positions. But before she could organize an air defense exercise, the enemy attacked.

Without any warning, on a sunny afternoon, a peculiar warship approached Blue Mountain Island.

The first to spot this ship was a merchant vessel sailing on the route between Blue Mountain Island and Empire's largest Floating Island, Parkinson. This fully loaded grain and meat merchant ship became the initial sacrifice. When the ship's captain noticed a never-before-seen hovercraft rapidly approaching from the port side, most of the crew members were still having lunch. The first mate signaled with the "beware of collision" light signal to the approaching hovercraft, but when the shiny golden hovercraft came into visual range, the nightmare began. The merchant ship was sunk within minutes, and the perpetrator did not slow down, heading directly towards Blue Mountain Island.

Upon receiving the telegram stating "under attack," the 109th Aviation Squadron quickly prepared for battle, with soldiers rushing to their positions. Due to Lieutenant Selena's strong command the previous day, the guards had already installed the anti-aircraft guns at their positions, making air combat preparations quick. At the same time, the 109th Squadron's two Magic Armors took off in pairs, led by Major Logridis, who initially thought this was another trick from higher-ups. Last time, a false battle alarm deceived them into a designated airspace, but they were severely criticized by the theater command for their slow speed. If it weren't for the fact that no one in the 109th Aviation Squadron wanted to take responsibility, Logridis might have already been relieved of duty and enjoying his free time at home.

The military law of the Empire is strict, but occasionally there is room for flexibility.

Twelve minutes later, to everyone's surprise, Logridis and his twenty-four subordinates actually managed to capture the enemy ship. Since the enemy charged straight at them, there was no need for a search operation. And from this location, Blue Mountain Island was less than twenty kilometers away, with the giant rocks in the center of the island visible to the naked eye.

Logridis carefully observed the enemy ship, which had a golden shell with golden reliefs shining brightly in the afternoon sun. There were no visible propellers or propulsion mechanisms on the ship, but an energy flow generated in the ring at the stern propelled it forward. What puzzled him the most was that there was not a single turret on this 120-meter-long ship. Perhaps it wasn't a warship after all?

"Calling unidentified hovercraft!" Logridis opened the radio. "Stop the ship immediately for inspection!"

The other side slowed down, and Logridis couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. However, the sleek golden hull of the hovercraft suddenly opened a series of hatches, and forty golden smaller aircraft were launched. These aircraft didn't have a human-like appearance, but rather resembled missiles with wings and a huge eye on the head. They immediately began to attack the 109th Aviation Squadron led by Logridis!

In the first round, three Magic Armors were shot down, and the remaining ones scattered in disarray.

Logridis targeted one of the aircraft and fired his 13mm machine gun from the front of the war spear. The enemy aircraft couldn't dodge in time and was hit, but instead of metal parts falling off, it was earth-like materials. Logridis suddenly realized that these were the Glems of the Magic Kingdom! The ship was none other than the legendary Demon King Army assault aircraft carrier.

"The opponent is the Demon King Army!" he shouted over the radio. "Everyone, execute Operation Seven at all costs! Stop them!"

However, before he finished speaking, the assault aircraft carrier had already passed underneath them. One Magic Armor that attempted to intercept it failed to control the distance properly and was crushed into pieces on the ship's bow. Worse still, the 109th Aviation Squadron had been scattered, and all the Magic Armors were fighting individually without a chance to organize an effective counterattack. For a while, the eastern airspace of Blue Mountain Island became a battlefield of chaos between the two sides. The truth be told, the combat capability of the Demon King Army's Glems was not particularly high, but there were a large number of them. They were the main attacking force of the assault aircraft carrier, although the Demon King Army rarely deployed the assault aircraft carrier alone, usually accompanied by auxiliary warships. However, just one assault aircraft carrier had already completely routed the 109th Aviation Squadron! The assault carrier continuously launched Grams and quickly formed four large formations around it, protecting itself as it rushed towards Blue Mountain Island. At this moment, the anti-aircraft guns on Blue Mountain Island began firing. Empire soldiers wearing helmets operated 120mm anti-aircraft guns and fired at the approaching Grams, causing countless black smoke to burst in the sky. However, the power of the anti-aircraft guns could not be compared to that of fortress cannons. They were not effective against large warships, especially with the Grams constantly acting as a shield for the mothership. The assault carrier went almost unscathed as it charged into the anti-aircraft zone of Blue Mountain Island.

The Grams began attacking the anti-aircraft gun positions. With a length of over 5 meters, the beams of light shot from their single eye instantly melted the anti-aircraft guns into molten iron scraps. Many anti-aircraft crewmen were eliminated along with their guns, while more people abandoned the guns and fled in all directions. Selina, as the commander of the air defense forces, found herself in a desperate situation. Her subordinates were either dead or injured, and the anti-aircraft fire over Blue Mountain Island gradually became sparse. The assault carrier had now stopped above the airport, and its belly doors opened, releasing even more Grams. Hundreds of Grams formed formations and rushed towards the airport control tower and other important facilities.

"Don't let the enemy continue to be arrogant!" Selina sighed and ordered, "Everyone, pick up your weapons and defend the airport!"

After saying this, she took out her pistol and fired at the approaching group of Grams targeting the air control tower. Inspired by her actions, other operators took rifles from the weapon box placed in the corner of the control tower. Everyone armed themselves and began continuously firing at the approaching Grams.

The main battlefield of the aerial combat gradually shifted to the sky above Blue Mountain Island. Although most of the pilots in the 109th Flying Squadron were rookies, there were still a few skilled ones like Logris. So far, Logris had shot down five Grams, but his ammunition was running out.

"Attention, all survivors!" He looked at the assault carrier hovering above the airport. "Return to defend the airport, we cannot lose our base!" His command may not have been correct under these circumstances, but it was one of the few choices available. A few surviving Magic Armors started flying towards the airport, but Logris himself was hit by a Gram, tumbling and falling from the sky, crashing to the north of the small town.

Damn it! I've been shot down! He tried to connect through the backup line and regained control of his unit. Shaking, he stood up despite occasional sparks from the joints of his mechanical arm. The Gram that hit him landed on the adjacent street. It turned out that not only did it have arms and legs, but it also had very sharp claws. Logris forced a bitter smile as he pulled the control lever. His Magic Armor raised the spear, which was out of bullets, and faced off against the massive single-eyed Gram.

A hand-to-hand battle was about to break out. Logris's spear cut off one of the Gram's arms, but his Magic Armor was hit by the whip-like tail of the Gram and crashed into a nearby building. Logris shook his head and recovered from the impact. He looked at the familiar courtyard; wasn't it the mansion he infiltrated a few days ago? Hopefully, the beautiful maid had already taken shelter? The unit shook violently as the Gram rode on top of the Magic Armor, continuously biting its armor with its teeth. Logris pulled the control lever, and the Magic Armor stretched out a hand to grab the opponent's throat, and the two sides began tearing at each other.

However, the Gram still had its tail, which had punctured the cockpits of many Empire soldiers' Magic Armors. When it pointed its sharp tail tip at the cockpit of Logris's Magic Armor, he suddenly realized that his time was up. Suddenly, a cold light flashed. The Gram's movement stopped, its head slowly slid off its body, and its golden body lost its luster, gradually collapsing into a pile of mud.

Who did this?

Logris looked around and saw the maid he had been haunting gently putting away her iron fan. Expressionless, she crushed the red core of the Gram under her foot. Perhaps hearing the dying cries of their companions, three Grams landed around the maid. Before they could release their threatening cries, a cold light cut them in half. A mechanical warrior covered in red armor walked out of the summoning formation, stepped on the crumbling Gram, and stood behind the maid. It had a fierce look, four arms holding different weapons, and a huge gun on the rack on its back."Carnage," the maid ordered coldly, "exterminate the enemy!"

Carnage let out a roar of anger, taking out the massive gun from behind. It was more like a cannon than a gun, with eight barrels arranged in two rows, each with a caliber exceeding 30mm. Logris murmured in his mind, wondering if there would be any recoil. But in the next second, he realized he was wrong again. The projectiles shot out by the mechanical warrior were photon bullets. The eight photon bullets flew towards the swirling Grems in the sky, blasting them to pieces. Carnage continued to shoot at the Grems in the air, the dense beams of light pursuing them, mercilessly destroying them.

Several Grems gathered together, attempting to counterattack, but their cannon shells were stopped by a glowing barrier. Four magical symbols floated in the air, forming a defensive barrier. The maid flicked her long sleeves and released another set of symbols from her fingertips, creating another barrier to block the attacks. She lifted her black hair, wiping the sweat off her forehead, and gazed into the distance at the airport. The sounds of gunfire had become sparse, and a Magic Armor hit by a shot was falling from the sky. Hundreds of Grems swarmed like a swarm of bees, only near the command tower could the sounds of gunfire still be heard.

"Carnage," the maid commanded, "take down the enemy's aircraft carrier for me."

Carnage let out a roar, aiming the gun at the assault carrier. However, the shotgun pellets it fired were blocked by a faint blue barrier, the assault carrier also had a defensive barrier. But Carnage didn't give up, it retracted the shotgun, drew out a long knife, and flew towards the assault carrier like a bullet. The three kilometers distance disappeared in an instant, it crushed all the Grems blocking its way, then leaped high into the air and stabbed its four sharp blades into the enemy ship.

The assault carrier trembled, its hull tilting slightly, and the Carnage's four weapons rained down on its back, quickly opening a large hole. Inside, glowing magical circuits were revealed. Seemingly satisfied with its creation, Carnage took off its beam shotgun from its back and inserted the barrel directly into the interior of the carrier before pulling the trigger. With each shot, the carrier's outer shell displayed varying numbers of circular protrusions. Soon, multiple internal explosions occurred in the assault carrier, flames billowing into the air. Carnage stood amidst the raging flames, roaring like a demon from hell. The out-of-control Grems fell to the ground one by one, gradually turning into pieces of debris.

Logris was shocked. This maid, as beautiful as a goddess, had single-handedly annihilated a demon army assault aircraft carrier along with all its aircraft, while the 109 Air Squadron was already crippled since the beginning of the war. What kind of strength was this? There were actually people so powerful in the world! However, from beginning to end, the maid never looked at Logris, occasionally glancing at him with a gaze that seemed to be looking at some large, non-flammable garbage.

This made Logris very sad.

He considered himself to have some family background, being a noble after all, but this maid never looked at him directly. The only time they had a face-to-face conversation was when she used an iron fan to hold his throat, ready to cut off his head. At that time, her gaze had indeed been terrifying, and if not for his strong pride, Logris might have wet himself on the spot.

That was the gaze of a killer; she really wanted to kill him back then.

Stepping on the pedal, the Magic Armor slowly stood up. Logris glanced through the visor of the helmet, casually scanning the second-floor room, only to see the girl with platinum-colored long hair still sitting in the wheelchair, her eyes devoid of focus, staring into the distant Sea of Emptiness.

Could that child be like that forever?

Logris felt a pain in his heart. He had touched the girl's arm, the shriveled muscles were heartbreaking, her delicate wrist seemed like it would break like glass with just a touch. Unfortunately, the twelve-year-old girl was not within Logris' scope of hunting; he wasn't a Lolicon.

Suddenly, the girl moved. She slowly lifted her head, fixing her unfocused gaze on the sky. Logris immediately felt the danger, the sixth sense of a soldier told him that the attack would come from directly above. He stepped on the pedal, and the Magic Armor rushed towards the maid, protecting her with its heavy armor. In the next second, numerous icicles descended from the sky. Logris' Magic Armor was battered, the hard ice pierced through his protective armor like armor-piercing rounds, sparks flew inside the cockpit, the smell of burning filled the air.The girl wearing a tight battle suit floated in the air at a height of 500 meters, holding a magic staff. The surface of the dark blue suit was inscribed with magic circuits, emitting a faint light. Her eyes were covered by a metal mask with a single eye drawn on it, and only the lower part of her cold face was exposed. She raised her staff and several magic arrays unfolded around her, gradually forming sturdy ice pillars.

Inside the control tower, Selena despairingly put down her binoculars. The girl appearing above Blue Mountain Island was the terrifying mage of the Empire, capable of destroying an entire fleet with her power.

"It's over," the strong deputy officer sat down on the ground, trembling. "We're finished, truly finished... Everyone will die, everyone... killed by that witch."

The courtyard was in ruins, filled with ice pillars, as if it had been attacked by some catastrophic weather. Logrius opened his helmet and tried to crawl out of his severely damaged Magic Armor. Suddenly, he noticed that the maid was looking at him, her pitch-black eyes filled with gratitude and confusion.

"Why did you save me?" she asked.

"Do heroes need a reason to save damsels in distress?" Logrius forced a bitter smile. "But it seems like I'm a pretty pathetic hero..."

In the sky, the second round of the ice rain was about to fall, and it was too late to recall the monster.

At that moment, the second floor suddenly exploded, and a white figure flew into the sky at supersonic speed. The mage girl, who was about to attack, immediately changed her target and shot the ice pillars towards the white shadow. However, the ice pillars, capable of piercing through armored plates, were all deflected by a golden defensive barrier. Realizing that her attack was ineffective, she immediately changed tactics and began to move at high speed. The magic circuits on her battle suit emitted a bright light, and her magic power level rapidly rose to its peak. But the white shadow followed closely behind. Above the clouds, the white shadow intercepted the mage and transformed into a girl wearing a white nightgown. She floated in the air with her arms crossed, and her ankle-length light brown hair was being dyed by the silver-white magic power she emitted, gradually fading away and turning almost transparent.

"Are you one of Carteros' lackeys?" the girl sneered at the mage. "Well, let's make you do some rehab exercises. I'll give you the first move, come at me!"

"Activate," the mage began to construct her magic spell. "Inherent magic spell - Lightning Spirit Spear, shoot!"

Several magic arrays quickly formed, converging into a glowing spear with flickering lightning. After all the spears had formed, they targeted the girl with flowing long hair.

"Too slow!"

The girl snapped her fingers with her eyes half-closed, and a hundred identical spears appeared out of thin air behind her. Ten against one hundred, the outcome was predictable. The thunderous spears collided with each other and were annihilated. However, ninety spears still shot towards the mage. The mage opened a barrier, a inherent magic spell of her staff that could be activated as long as magic power was injected. The thunderous spears hit the mage's barrier, pulverizing it. But as the front spears shattered, the rear spears followed closely after. Facing the high-intensity wave-shaped attack, the mage's defensive barrier finally cracked and shattered like glass.

Too powerful, this was not an opponent she could defeat.

Realizing this, the mage decided to retreat. However, in the blink of an eye, she was surrounded by hundreds of ice swords. Since the confrontation began, the girl hadn't chanted any spells. She was unarmed, with only a white nightgown covering her slender body, and her flowing skirt revealed her slender legs. She didn't have any magical devices. The mage was puzzled. In the face of death, she was actually puzzled by the current situation. What she was seeing exceeded the processing capabilities of her core.

"Goodbye, my duplicate."

The girl casually waved her hand, and hundreds of ice swords shot towards the mage from all directions, instantly pulverizing her body. The only intact head flew in the air, revealing a face very similar to the girl's under the fallen iron mask. The mage's face was filled with confusion, unable to believe that she had been killed like this. Suddenly, her field of vision became fixed. The mage blinked her eyes, but found that her head was being held in the girl's hand.

"Carteros, I know you're watching," the girl stared into her eyes. "I, Uther Nornheim, have returned. Clean your neck and wait."

With those words, she forcefully crushed the mage's head, splattering her artificial blood onto her nightgown.

Uther floated in the air, looking at her own arm. It turned out that her arm, which had no material left, had atrophied due to lack of movement for a long time, becoming even thinner. In addition, the hair that reached her ankles made her neck feel heavy. How long had she been asleep? She had no answer. When loyal Qin Feng told her the answer, she couldn't help but look at her wide-eyed mouth in astonishment. For a full three years, Uther slept, while the world was plunged into chaos.
