19 So I finally enrolled

"New student?"

The boy behind the desk asked in a routine manner.

He looked about the same age as Lin Chen, but he was wearing a staff robe with the emblem of the Puppet Academy embroidered on it, a pattern of a marionette.

Presumably, he was a member of the student council, a student who helped the academy with some tasks.

This registration office was originally temporarily converted from a single-layer classroom.

There weren't many people coming to register today, and most of the crowd was concentrated yesterday.

Therefore, among the three "registration windows" made up of desks, only this one had someone, making it appear relatively empty.

He scanned Lin Chen's information from top to bottom, finally stopping at the column of "Contracted Puppet" -

F-class: Puppet Maid.

He looked up and examined Lin Chen, seeing him dressed in tattered traveler's attire, not looking like a local, nor like a child of an aristocrat.

It's not uncommon to have wealthy children with low talent. The Violet Empire is a nation of Puppets, and anyone with the identity of a Puppeteer would be looked up upon wherever they go.

But Lin Chen seemed too shabby.

And if he had money, he could draw more times or find someone to draw for him, or even buy connections from the academy, which would not necessarily result in obtaining excellent Puppets.

There was no need to bind a contract with this kind of Puppet Maid.

"How did the academy allow even such trash to enroll?"

His gaze passed over Lin Chen's shoulder and saw Vivian, the puppet maid standing behind him.

At the moment, she had lowered her eyes, her emerald-like pupils hidden behind her dense eyelashes.

"A puppet maid? What a joke! Our Bourne Town branch has never accepted trash puppets like this! Allowing trash like you to enroll is an insult to all of our students! Come back when we have an F-class class open."

He sneered and tossed the registration form aside.

"It was your academy that blocked the door this morning and insisted that I enroll. You're just a dog doing errands for the academy. What right do you have to act so arrogantly? Let's go, Vivian."

With that, Lin Chen turned around and took hold of Vivian's wrist, ready to leave.

Lin Chen's purpose was simply to remove Vivian's Puppet collar. He didn't care at all whether the Puppeteer Academy accepted him or not.

These words further enraged the male student.

"You insist on enrolling? Our Puppet Academy is so competitive that many people can't get in no matter how hard they try! How da--"

Even he struggled to say a few words, but managed to summon a C-class Puppet only after several attempts, finally gaining the attention of others.

This year, there was a rare A-class student who made him extremely jealous, and now this F-class student wanted to enroll and even spoke so arrogantly!

The male student clenched his teeth, and the space ring on his index finger and the magic inscription on the back of his hand lit up together.

A hunchbacked, eyeless monster Puppet appeared by his side in a wave of spatial fluctuations.

The Puppet had thin, elongated limbs, with strong muscles segmented along its body.

Its body was bloated, and it held a long spear as a weapon.

Its face had only a few folds and no eyes or nose, with a big mouth splitting below.

"Master, be careful. It's a C-class cave-dweller..."

Vivian warned, subconsciously wanting to step forward but was blocked by Lin Chen.

Lin Chen nodded and also took a fighting stance.

C-class, huh?

From its appearance, it didn't seem any more formidable than a Goblin.

I wonder if I can handle a C-class Puppet myself.

"This is going too far, Alan. If the academy invited him, he should be treated fairly," a voice appeared at the door, stopping the impending battle.

At the same time, a slender figure appeared there.

Straight blue hair fell from behind like a cascade, swaying slightly with the girl's walking posture.

On her forehead was a white hairpin in the shape of a crescent moon, neatly arranging her bangs.

Most eye-catching were the black leggings wrapped around her legs beneath the plaid skirt. Although she was also a student, she exuded a mature and graceful charm."Evelyn, president..."

Upon seeing the appearance of the blue-haired girl, Allen's momentum instantly softened.

"I was just joking with him, no other meaning. After all, F-levels are indeed very rare, hahaha, hahaha..."

But the enmity in his eyes had not disappeared; it was just that when he saw Evelyn, that enmity immediately vanished.

In its place, there was only a desire to please her.

Lin Chen could see that Allen seemed to like Evelyn. After being stopped by her, he could only take the loss in silence, but he didn't dare to go against his goddess in his heart.

"I will arrange your enrollment for you. Even if you are F-level, no one here will treat you unfairly. However..."

A serious expression flickered in Evelyn's ice blue eyes as she looked at Lin Chen with a rather cold gaze.

"Our student council is not a lapdog of the academy. We have a certain degree of autonomy. I just think that since the academy made an exception and invited you to bring a F-level doll maid to enroll, there must be some reason behind it."

She picked up the registration form that had been thrown aside and held the pen with her delicate fingers, writing something on it.

She was standing, leaning forward to write, which lifted the hem of her skirt slightly, revealing the white fabric under the black stockings too clearly.

Lin Chen couldn't help but cough dryly and turned his gaze to Vivian beside him.

"Does Master need Vivian's help?"

Vivian whispered, but even speaking quietly in this kind of indoor setting, it would still be clearly heard by others.

"Was Master's reaction just now...about wanting to mate with Miss Evelyn? If so, Vivian can convey that request on behalf of Master."

Evelyn's face instantly flushed red and steam seemed to spew out from her cheeks upon hearing Vivian's vulgar remarks.

Because such a direct expression was just too embarrassing.

"W-what?!"

Lin Chen wanted to cover Vivian's mouth to prevent the misunderstanding from escalating further.

But Vivian had already finished speaking, leaving him futilely explaining to the shocked Evelyn—

"No, it's not like that!"
