Since Katie is a freshman who has just started school for less than a week, she doesn't know about demon-hunting training. It wasn't until Allen explained it to her that she understood what it was all about.
It turns out that Hildaran College, in order to give students sufficient combat skills and opportunities to improve their WD experience points, organizes demon-hunting training for intermediate-level students once a month, where they hunt down monsters in the forest.
Demon-hunting training is actually quite simple. The college teachers set up magic arrays in designated mountains and forests, which emit specific magical fluctuations that attract nearby monsters. This greatly increases the number of monsters in a certain area, allowing students to fight and kill them. This not only improves their combat abilities but also allows them to gain personal WD experience points.
Only intermediate-level students are allowed to participate in demon-hunting training. Junior-level students have not developed sufficient combat abilities, while senior-level students do not have any formidable monsters near the college. Considering that senior-level students would eradicate nearby monsters if they were to participate in demon-hunting training, it is not suitable for them.
"Do we have to fight monsters?" Katie showed an obvious expression of surprise, shrinking her neck. It seemed that she was afraid of fighting monsters.
Mia patted her shoulder, her triangular nose curled up, and she grinned mischievously, revealing a pair of glistening fangs. She heartlessly said, "That's right, meow. The days of hunting monsters to our heart's content have come, meow. Katie is looking forward to it too, meow."
How could Katie feel excited? Those are monsters, fierce and dangerous beings.
Seeing Katie's concern, Nina said, "Don't worry. The monsters near the Ines Plain are all low-level monsters, rarely with intermediate-level ones appearing. We will be with Katie, and the teachers will be nearby, so there is no need to worry about personal safety."
"Only low-level monsters?" Even if they were only low-level monsters, Katie still had some concerns. Monsters were cunning and fierce beings with sharp teeth and claws. If they got too close, they would definitely attack. They were terrifying beings.
Monsters were completely different from ordinary beasts because monsters could use magic, while beasts could not.
In fact, not all monsters were ferocious; some had gentle temperaments. However, if it was a ferocious monster, it would pose a great threat to humans because monsters could use magic. The higher the rank of the monster, the more powerful their magic. It was said that rare monsters above the seventh rank had the power to level human cities.
"Don't worry, I will protect Katie." Hearing Allen saying this, Katie immediately felt relieved. Although Allen was a petite and cute girl, she brought a sense of security.

Now it's class time, and as the homeroom teacher, Kloke stands on the platform.
"Tomorrow is the day when our class, 4-B, 4-C, and three other classes will have demon-hunting training together. The location is in the Labuchuin Forest, as you may already know. However, let me explain the rules. You can prepare your own battle equipment, as long as it's not oversized. If you don't have any, you can use the standard equipment provided by the college. When fighting demons, do not overexert yourselves. It's best to form teams and act together, and not to venture deep into the forest alone. Although the teachers will be watching over you in secret, it's still better to be cautious. Also, you are not allowed to harm harmless monsters- in short, just don't do anything that would cause trouble for the teachers. Rest assured, even if your arm or leg gets broken, the school nurse will be able to restore you to your original state."
After Kloke finished speaking, the students in the classroom responded with anticipation, many of them showing eager expressions and rubbing their hands.
Although the idea of breaking arms or legs was somewhat frightening.

...
There was a commotion deep in the forest as animals and monsters that sensed danger ran away frantically.
"It's amazing, is this the power of a Saint-level mage?"
"It's truly impressive."
There should have been very few people in the rarely-trodden depths of the forest, but now there were more than ten people.
They were all wearing long robes, and from the angular contours of the armor they wore underneath, it could be inferred that they were dressed for battle.A huge black shadow appeared on the ground, but the sky was clear with no trace of clouds. They all looked up at the sky, where a group of large creatures were floating in the air, slowly flying towards them.
These creatures had deep-colored horns, scales covering their bodies, strong limbs, and sharp fangs protruding from their mouths.
Surprisingly, these floating creatures were monsters, but they weren't flying on their own. They were imprisoned in cages made of pillars of light.
In front of these monsters was a middle-aged man wearing a black and red robe. With his open hat, one could see his mature and broad face, appearing to be in his thirties.
Roars continuously erupted from the imprisoned monsters, indicating their ferocious nature. From their blurry dragon-like forms, it was apparent that these monsters were sub-dragons.
The sub-dragons relentlessly crashed into the pillars of light, but they couldn't break through. Despite their seemingly fragile appearance, the pillars were incredibly sturdy, even more so than steel.
The black shadow got closer to the ground, and soon all the sub-dragons landed.
Boom...
As the heavy objects hit the ground, the soil was plowed open, causing the ground to tremble and a gust of wind to blow, causing dry leaves to fall from the trees.
The ten or so people standing here were immediately enveloped by the shadow cast by the giant objects.
The mage leading the sub-dragons also landed on the ground, standing firmly on his two feet. As his clothes adhered to his body again under the pull of gravity, one could see his muscular physique.
"Lord Chapur," the ten or so people approached the mage respectfully. The mage, called Chapur, looked at them with an arrogant gaze.
"How is it going on Madiel's side? They haven't noticed our presence, right?"
"Just as before, they are immersed in comfort."
"Very well."
Chapur smirked and glanced at the sub-dragons behind him, appearing satisfied.
"The kingdom's legend started with Madiel and will end with Madiel. What an irony. The decadent Royd Kingdom has finally come to its end."
"Lord Chapur, the escaped earth dragon has been killed, but not by us."
"Oh? Did Madiel's people do it?"
"I don't know. We found the body on the roadside, ten kilometers away from Madiel."
"Never mind. It doesn't matter. Let's begin, as the start of igniting the flames of war."
"Imprison the monsters within the light, expel the darkness at guiltless dawn: Light Cage - Unbind."
After Chapur finished chanting a spell, a burst of intense light emanated from the cages of light behind him. As the light quickly dimmed, the cages disappeared without a trace.
More than twenty sub-dragons, freed from their confinement, hesitated for a moment before stepping out.
As they stomped on the ground, the earth trembled. They immediately surrounded the group of humans, exuding a sense of fear. Only Chapur remained coldly indifferent with a sneer on his face.
These sub-dragons were naturally aggressive creatures, and now that they were free, they immediately launched a counterattack against the insignificant humans. But just as they were about to approach, Chapur raised his wand, murmured something, and layers of light circles emerged from it, enveloping both Chapur and the ten or so people.
The attacked light circles only rippled slightly without any damage. Knowing that they couldn't break through the barrier, the sub-dragons could only roar in frustration, their powerful sound waves boiling the air.
