The Origin of Humans:
The origin of humans is difficult to verify. Humans claim that they were created by gods, but Elves scoff at this idea since humans do not possess magical powers within them. When humans first began to record their history, they were in great danger on the continent. However, Elves kindly accepted them, providing seeds, technology, and knowledge. With their unique human perseverance and indomitable spirit, humans gradually established a foothold on the continent and even became the dominant force there with their numbers and courage. However, their exhibited greed and disrespect for nature greatly disappointed the Elves, who retreated back to their forests and stopped interacting with humans. Humans eventually split into countless small countries and cities that were in conflict with one another. In the end, Elizabeth Rovner conquered all human territories, extending her control from the northern great canyons to the southern ocean. Human cities were absorbed, and the difficult-to-govern regions became vassal states. Elizabeth declared herself as Emperor Rovner II, but people generally believe that the "Rovner Empire" and "Rovner City" are two separate entities, with Elizabeth being the first-generation emperor.
Governance: Human ruling class is headed by Queen Elizabeth, whose supreme martial prowess ensures that no one dares to challenge her authority. The administration beneath the queen consists of the ministers of finance, foreign affairs, domestic affairs, justice, and the commander-in-chief. Within the city, there are mayors, financial officers, protectors of the people, and judges. Actual military power is in the hands of the queen, with the commander-in-chief only substituting her command during wartime. If the queen leads the troops personally, the commander-in-chief serves as an adviser. The political system is a dictatorship, with important matters decided by collective wisdom in the council chamber and ultimately determined by the queen. The queen personally writes the laws, with judges serving only as enforcers.
Religion: The Pope is the highest interpreter of religious doctrines, which were formed from oral narratives passed down by soldiers and eventually became the orthodox religion. The highest court within the imperial capital has the authority to interpret religious laws, and every city and village has chapels, with itinerant missionaries responsible for preaching and converting people to the faith.
Culture and Technology: Humans have mastered the use of machinery, developed metallurgy, and possess a deep understanding of astronomy and farming techniques. In terms of culture, the queen does not exercise control and even provides protection, allowing various different voices to be heard. As a result, various works of literature and music are widely circulated, with excellent works being catalogued and preserved in the Royal Library.
Military: Human forces are the most powerful on the continent, with Queen Elizabeth holding the strongest army. Other vassal states have almost no regular armies, only being guarded by vigilante forces. The Rovner Empire's main troops consist of infantry, supplemented by cavalry and artillery. The primary military organization is the Legion, led by a Legionnaire and four staff officers. A legion consists of two armies, which are comprised of four infantry divisions, two cavalry divisions, and three artillery battalions, totaling forty thousand soldiers and two hundred cannons. Infantry is divided into line infantry, skirmishers, and grenade throwers; cavalry into armored cavalry and musketeers; and artillery is assigned based on whether the legion is a field, siege, or defense legion. Currently, ten defense legions protect the safety of the imperial capital, while fifteen field and siege legions are stationed near vassal states. Queen Elizabeth's personal guard is the "Valkyr," an all-female group composed of orphaned girls raised and trained by the queen herself. Devotedly worshipping and loving the queen, each member is an elite warrior skilled in horse riding, firearms, archery, and swordsmanship, responsible for safeguarding the queen and the palace. They are also the most powerful reserve forces during battle, with around two hundred members on active duty split into three teams. It is rumored that there are nearly a thousand candidate members, ensuring that the Valkyr can replenish any losses quickly in case of emergencies.
Character: It is difficult to generalize the character of humans, as they are both resilient and fearless but can also exhibit traits of greed, malice and cowardice. Nonetheless, humans are generally a friendly race. In regards to love, their views are rather ambiguous; they value loyalty, but extramarital affairs are a well-known secret.
