A messy crime scene. Two people involved.
One was the “criminal,” lying in the corner waiting for judgment. The other was the victim, lying on the bed, a thin blanket wrapped around a fully mature body. She wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t get out of bed for now.
The room was dead silent. The kind of silence that felt scary.
Ten minutes later, Yeyu poked his ear with a finger, making sure it was clear. He honestly wondered if he’d misheard something. Just now he’d thought he heard news so insane it had to be a hallucination.
“Uh, I feel like I just heard something pretty shocking. I’m kinda scared I got it wrong. Can you say it again?”
Lelia pushed herself halfway up. As she moved, the thin blanket slid down along that delicate, fair skin. Under the early morning light, her skin almost seemed to glow.
Damn, is that really human skin?
Some bored goddess from the heavens didn’t come down just to mess with mortals, did she? Wait, goddesses don’t have balls. Can’t say “ball-aching.”
Yeyu almost went cross-eyed staring. Lelia of course noticed that burning gaze. She yanked the blanket back up over her chest, hiding her gorgeous figure. Her face flushed slightly, then smoothed back into calm.
Then she ruffled her blond hair, the ahoge on top of her head wobbling back and forth.
“About that... mm, I think you should just go.”
“What the— oh… no, wait, no way!”
Her words were tempting. Yeyu almost bolted on the spot, but he clenched his teeth and forced himself to stay.
So she wants to shoulder this herself?
Lelia was obviously from some extraordinary background. You could tell from the way she moved and everything else about her.
If a girl like her got exposed over what happened last night while the guy involved ran off like a rat with its tail between its legs, how much pressure would that dump on her?
Her life after this would definitely be hell.
“I’m not gonna let you carry the blame alone for something dumb I did. I, NanGong Yeyu, can’t say I’m some great guy—people always call me a clown and an idiot—but I do have at least a little conscience. It’s all my fault anyway. Whatever punishment comes, I’m not gonna complain. But running away? No chance.”
No man of the NanGong family was a coward.
If he bailed now, his conscience would crush him for the rest of his life. His master would probably despise him to death, maybe literally beat him to death. She hated that kind of man, so she’d hammered one idea into him over and over: a boy has to take responsibility when he has to.
Bottom line, he had to stay. He couldn’t let a girl shoulder something like this alone. Either they ran away together—that was the option he liked best—
Hearing Yeyu’s “heroic” speech, Lelia actually got embarrassed instead. Her blue eyes turned toward the window, not daring to meet his.
She scratched her hair, looking helpless and distressed.
“So, um, actually…”
Her words cut off halfway. She bit her lip, face tinged with a suspicious blush, clearly finding it hard to say.
What the hell? Yeyu was confused.
“...Actually, last night, I was the one who made the first move.”
Ten seconds of silence. Yeyu tilted his head, the corner of his mouth twitching.
Pretty sure I just heard something insane. He rubbed his eyes, jabbed his ears a few more times, confirming his ear canals weren’t blocked and he hadn’t missed some crucial line.
A moment later, Lelia seemed to just say to hell with it and went all in, revealing the final truth.
“A little after three in the morning last night…”
Under Lelia’s vivid, slightly embarrassed narration, the truth slowly unfolded in front of Yeyu. As everything surfaced, his eyes went wide—no, his eyeballs almost fell out.
“What the hell.” He’d already said that who knew how many times, but it was still the best reflection of his collapsing mental state.
Rewind. Playback. Recall the events—
Turned out that after Yeyu had subdued Lelia last night and tossed her onto the bed, a few hours passed.
At around three in the morning, Lelia woke up.
No, not fully awake. The alcohol still hadn’t worn off. She just couldn’t really sleep because her mind was a mess.
Half-dazed, she got out of bed. Her foot stepped on something soft. She jumped in shock, lost her balance, and fell—right into the scene where she ended up cuddled with Yeyu.
“Because my family keeps making me go on blind dates with random strangers, I’ve been really pissed off…”
So yeah. A girl all stuffed full of annoyance and frustration, looking at Yeyu sleeping soundly underneath her, suddenly had an idea.
If I lose my virginity now and lie that my lover went far away, won’t I be free from this blind-date nightmare?
“And then—”
And then Yeyu didn’t even need to hear more to know the rest.
His whole body went weak. He staggered to the wall and slammed his forehead against it. Bang. Almost knocked himself out.
He was completely Spartalized.
So, the truth was—
This pretty girl haunted by blind-date nightmares, at around three in the morning, using her drunken courage to escape her family’s marital control, hardened her heart, slid her body over… and did him.
So in the end, he was the “victim,” huh.
What kind of insane plot twist is this? Can I sue her for rape? Can I?
“Uh… what’s wrong?” Lelia saw Yeyu squatting on the floor, forehead pressed against the wall, the whole person radiating “stray dog who lost everything.”
“It’s nothing. I just feel like, as a man, my dignity’s been deeply violated.”
“...I have no idea what you’re talking about. Anyway, you can go. This has nothing to do with you. You don’t need to feel any psychological burden.”
The beauty officially issued an eviction order, tone completely casual.
His body and mind did feel a lot lighter now that he knew the truth. But he still hadn’t really let it go.
“If I leave, what are you gonna do?”
Of course he still cared how she was going to handle things. He had to ask.
Lelia gave him a strange sideways look. Worried about others at a time like this, huh. Not bad.
“Same as I said just now. As long as my fa… father believes I already have a man I’ve pledged my life to, and I’ve even given him my body, then this blind-date circus will end. I’ll be free.”
“And after that?”
“After that? There is no after.”
She shrugged. As soon as she did, the blanket slipped down again, revealing two full, round—
Thump!
“Don’t look!”
Something pink suddenly filled his vision, then smacked over his eyes with a snap.
Soft. And with this strange…
Milky scent?
Yeyu immediately realized what terrible thing he was holding. Seeing the piece of women’s underwear pinched between his fingers, cold sweat poured down his back.
Lelia glared, eyes practically murderous.
But the way she looked right now had no killing power at all. If anything, that teenage face had taken on a faint hint of mature womanly allure, dangerously tempting.
Yeyu forced himself to calm down and tossed the bra back to the girl clutching the blanket tight around herself, acting like it was nothing.
“What you’re saying right now is just a stalling tactic. You might fool them for a while, but once time passes…”
You can’t keep fire wrapped in paper forever. It’ll come out eventually.
He didn’t spell it out, but Yeyu knew Lelia understood. Still, what was with that confident look?
“When the time comes, I’ll just say my distant lover disappeared or died in an accident. That’ll be enough.”
“Eh—”
“Hmph. You think I haven’t thought about backup plans? You’re too naive.”
Boy, you’re still green! That smug expression really rubbed Yeyu the wrong way.
“Fine. Since you’ve got a plan like that, me sticking around’ll only mess things up. Guess I really should go hide out in another city for a while. If I stay here, anyone who really wants to dig could follow the trail back to us.”
“I’ll handle things afterwards. The store owner, and the friends who saw us together—I’ll find a way to make them all shut up.” Yeyu frowned.
“...You’re going to kill them to silence them?”
Come to think of it, this woman did have a pretty iron-blooded, badass vibe. If you asked Yeyu whether she’d killed before, his answer would be yes. And probably more than a few.
Lelia shot him a massive eye-roll.
“Your imagination’s impressive, little brother.”
“I’ve got a name. NanGong Yeyu. People just like dropping my surname.”
“That so? Well, NanGong is a pretty weird surname. Kinda hard to say too. No wonder they just call you Yeyu. I’ll call you that too.”
“Anyway, what’s your plan for shutting them up?”
If she really planned to kill people over this, Yeyu would absolutely stop her. Sure, dead men keep secrets best, but having a bunch of people die for this? He didn’t think it was worth it.
Maybe sensing how serious he was, Lelia stopped joking around. After all, this guy was technically her first hookup. One she’d probably never see again for the rest of her life.
“When it comes to keeping people quiet, there are plenty of methods besides killing. People only chase a few things in this life. You just need to make use of that.”
“I see…”
Yeyu nodded hard, very much in agreement, then looked at her, face full of hopeful anticipation.
“Your Majesty the Queen, as your first sex buddy, to keep my mouth shut, how about you give me a beautiful maid? Silver-haired, preferably.”
Judging by how she talked, this girl was either rich or noble.
Yeah yeah. Official’s daughter, rich girl, whatever. I just want a maid. Maids are awesome.
My dream is to have a silver-haired maid.
“Why do you know…”
“Know what?”
He hadn’t expected Lelia to react so strongly. Her beautiful eyes went wide, full of disbelief.
Yeyu just looked puzzled.
If you’re not giving me a maid, fine. I wasn’t that hopeful anyway. Why freak out like this? Period coming?
Realizing she’d slipped, Lelia covered her mouth, swallowed the rest back down, then said very seriously,
“This must never be mentioned again.”
The authority in her tone screamed high-born lady. No doubt she was a noble miss.
Yeyu could only scratch his head and give in. Fine, fine, won’t mention it. Worst case, I’ll hire my own maid when I get rich. No big deal.
“I’ll get going then.”
“Wait!”
Yeyu had just put his hand on the doorknob, hadn’t turned it yet, when Lelia’s voice made him look back.
“What is it?”
She’s not suddenly gonna change her mind, right? Yeyu felt like that was very possible.
Lelia glanced around the room, looking a bit awkward.
“Can you lend me some clothes?”
Yeyu finally noticed: the plain dress she’d worn yesterday was now in tatters on the floor. He couldn’t help but sigh at how fierce this woman had been.
He had no choice but to take off his own white shirt and hand it to her.
“Thanks.”
Taking the shirt, Lelia blushed a little as she thanked him.
Then she put on her underwear and slipped into the shirt.
He had to admit, she looked even more tempting like this. The shirt only reached the tops of her thighs, leaving her long, smooth legs bare. And because her chest was honestly pretty big, she’d undone the top three buttons so she could breathe properly, which meant her jaw-dropping cleavage was just out there glowing in the sunlight.
Her skin practically shimmered.
Yeyu’s face went red and he turned away.
“Like this, you still can’t really go outside. Wait here a bit, I’ll go find you some clothes.”
“Oh, that’d be a big help.”
She didn’t refuse his help. Lelia thanked him sincerely, a smile on her face.
“It’s nothing.”
Yeyu scrubbed at his hair. He might not have felt much last night, but the fact was, he’d definitely taken advantage. Doing this little bit was the least he could do.
He reached for the door—only for it to open on its own.
Someone was pushing it from the outside—
Seeing who walked in, Yeyu froze.
Lelia’s smile vanished in an instant, replaced by panic and terror. She was completely at a loss.
Shit. Now this was a disaster.
Staring at the rows of soldiers gripping long spears on both sides, and that big shot surrounded in the middle, Yeyu foamed at the mouth. He couldn’t bear the cruel reality anymore; his vision went black and he passed out.
“Sister, you really went and did something unbelievably stupid.”
The last thing he saw was a flash of dazzling silver-white. That cool yet helpless voice etched itself into his mind.
