A Day in Nelstan
update icon Updated at 2023/6/19 17:42:19

The morning sunlight filtered through the leaves outside the window, illuminating the inn's room. Inside, a boy was sleeping, who appeared very young with a head of rare black hair, delicate features, and tender skin that seemed to have been kissed by a goddess, making people believe he could be a noble girl. At this moment, however, the boy was sleeping with drool in his mouth, and his sleeping posture was quite indecent, taking up most of the bed with his limbs spread wide. Then, without warning, he turned over, kicking an unknown white ball off the edge of the bed.

"Thump!"

The white ball slowly climbed up from the floor, shook its head, and immediately understood what had happened when it saw the person lying on the bed. The boy seemed not to have noticed what he'd kicked as he continued sleeping. The white ball's face gradually swelled up. At this moment, a wooden board in the corner of the room slowly floated up, aiming at the boy's head, with a fierce wind mixed in.

"Ahhhhhh!!!"

--------------------------------------

Nerston, early morning...

"Sisi~"

"........."

"Sisi ah~"

"............"

"Forgive me, Sisi is the cutest!"

At this time, the commercial streets were full of people, various cries mixed together, and the air was filled with the fragrance of delicious food, making people's appetite open in the morning. Various pedestrians and carriages were traveling on the streets. This was the commercial center of Nerston, the commercial street (joking)!

At this time, among the people, there was a big and a small one. The big one was wearing a priest's robe with an oak staff on the back, and the black hair was quite eye-catching even though it was tied up in a crowd, with a face not inferior to some noble ladies. The little one also had an outstanding appearance, with long white hair flowing down to the legs, a delicate face, pale and red skin, and a thin body that made people want to take care of her. In her snow-white hair, long ears were faintly visible. Ah~ She is an Elf!

"Sisi! If you forgive me, I'll take you to have a Dragon Saliva feast as an exception." I saw Sisi's ears move, thinking it worked, and continued with a pained heart: "Plus a fruit salad!" Sisi's drooping body paused slightly when she heard this. I caught this subtle movement!

"Have you finally forgiven me?" But I still didn't dare to be too presumptuous, so I bent down and asked Sisi.

"........." Sisi still didn’t take out the paper, but she changed the direction towards the fruit shop. Seeing Sisi's slightly flushed face, a strange switch in my heart opened, I grabbed Sisi's waist and put her on my shoulder, she was still so light. Ignoring Sisi who was constantly knocking on my head, I headed towards the fruit shop. The morning of Nerston was still so dazzling.

-------------------------------------

Nerston, noon...

"Lightning... control... life... the Elves... blue... lightning... anger... powerful... power...! Thunderbolt!" The blue magic at the end of the oak staff gradually condensed into shape, with a series of flashes, turning into a series of lightning cracks that rushed towards the goblin gang.

"Boom!" The lightning hit the center of the goblin thieves gang accurately. Seeing the skill hit the enemy, I picked up the oak staff and rushed towards the enemy line quickly, trying to take advantage of the victory. The goblin archers, who were still in a daze, saw me coming and shot a few arrows in a hurry, while I charged towards the goblin remnants without retreating.

"Clang... clang..." Two arrows hit the colorful barrier and fell. I sneered, who wouldn't buff and shield before battle? Unless it's Shigeru. And their positions had already been exposed when they shot.

"Sisi! One o'clock, ten meters away, three o'clock, six meters away!" I shouted, then stopped paying attention to the other side, focusing on dealing with the goblin remnants in front of me.

The forest is the Elves' home field, so I'm very reassured to leave it to Sisi, while I have to catch all the remnants. Looking at the two remaining goblins, they were not directly hit by the Thunderbolt, but the aftermath of the lightning still shocked them enough. It's enough! I had already rushed to the side of a unlucky and isolated goblin, looking at his desperate expression, I didn't pause, nor show mercy towards him. The oak staff, mixed with fierce wind, slammed towards his head."Splash!"

In an instant, a mixture of red and white liquid splashed out, splattering onto me. The once-white priest robe was now stained with a large area of red, and my glossy black hair was also covered in the viscous liquid. As I raised my hand to wipe away the unidentified clumps on my head, I looked at the remaining ones.

The unfortunate guy's body fell straight down, while the last one stood in place with wide eyes.

Then...

Our eyes met.

After the surprise came fear, the fear of life being threatened. At this moment, we were maintaining a relatively safe distance...

So he chose to run. I sighed, not planning to hunt them down completely, but goblins belonged to the kind that couldn't be let go. Just as I was about to catch up, three small flying knives zipped past my ear, plunging straight into the goblin's throat. He fell to the ground, clutching his neck for a few spasms and then stopped moving.

"Oh dear Sisi, my appearance now is worse than Mrs. Susan next door's pancake," I said while tidying my clothes, not noticing that someone had disappeared from my side.

The small figure crouched next to the charred corpse, constantly searching. Then, as if by magic, she pulled out a... silver coin?! Sisi carefully wiped it on her little maid skirt and then... secretly stuffed it into her pocket, smiling happily as she turned to the next "victim."

。。。

"Well, today's spoils are scarce too," I complained as we walked back. Sisi, uncharacteristically, pulled out a piece of paper and joined in the conversation.

"Don't complain. It's your choice not to work."

"How could you say that! The old man at the church beat me up 10 times! No one would want to go back, right? (´¬ω¬`)."

Sisi rolled her eyes, indicating that I should think about it.

I grinned, raising my head to look at the distant view. The setting sun's afterglow dyed the earth red, and as we left the forest, our view became more open. I stopped walking...

The huge, half-circle sun was at the "end" of the plain, and everything was stained with the color of the setting sun. It was so beautiful that I couldn't help but wonder if it was real, just like in animations. As a former office worker who spent half my life in the city, I had only seen such scenes on the internet. Seeing it up close is indeed more breathtaking than in photos.

Sisi, who was beside me, noticed my stunned expression but didn't "say" anything. She quietly took out a dragon saliva fruit from her little bag, looked back and forth between me and the fruit a few times, and then broke off a small piece and handed it to me.

I looked at Sisi's innocent expression, and the corners of my mouth twitched a few times, but I still accepted it.

Under the setting sun, there were two figures, one big and one small...

------------Ruthless dividing line-------------

"Yo! You're back?"

As soon as I opened the familiar door, a rough voice sounded.

"Yeah! Uncle, I'm back."

I took off my blood-stained priest robe, as wearing it covered in blood could cause some trouble. I picked a table at random, pulled up a stool, and sat down. Sisi also sat down beside me.

"Kid? Same as usual?" A sturdy middle-aged man asked while rubbing the little guy's head.

"Same as usual, a bowl of meat rice! And a bacon burger!"

"The little one has already eaten, just bring some vegetables, that's fine, right Uncle?"

"Oh! Sure thing!"

Sisi's face beside me had already puffed up like a balloon, as if it would explode at any moment. The uncle also timed it perfectly, withdrew his hand, and went back to his business carelessly.

I sighed, glanced at Sisi next to me, who was fiddling with her little bag. The whole person relaxed all at once, exhaustion swept through me, and I unconsciously began dozing off.

.....

When I first came to this world, I was full of excitement, eager to make a big career, but the reality was cruel. After realizing that I was just like an ordinary person, I began working tirelessly. The laws of this world are not the same as Earth. In the first seven days, I encountered setbacks, almost being deceived and becoming a slave due to my appearance. Afterward, I was self-destructive and desperate. It was Uncle who saved me then and continuously helped me, encouraging the disheartened me. It was only a month after coming to another world, in Nerstan, that I finally encountered a turning point in my fate...meeting the young, dusty-faced Sisi. She was just a baby at the time, and I, curious about Elves, impulsively invited her to my temporary residence. In this way, two unrelated people, Elves, came together...Looking back now, her willingness to stay was the greatest gift since I arrived here.Pa-pa! (Two loud sounds)

I slowly opened my eyes, and my blurry vision gradually became clear.

"Idiot! Get up and eat!" A line of delicate little words appeared in front of my eyes.

Did I fall asleep? I wiped the drool from my mouth and saw Silky's puffed-up face, why was this little thing always angry?

"Being angry all the time is bad for your skin, it'll cause wrinkles."

I touched Silky's head.

"Kid, stop playing around. If you want to play, go to your room and play slowly!"

"Dinner is ready, come and eat." Uncle said with a tease.

Hearing this, Silky bit my hand even harder. I pulled my hand out forcefully, then wiped it and smiled at Silky.

"Silky, look at this minced meat, it's fragrant and delicious. You must want to eat it."

"Let me feed you!" I said, as the spoon was already slowly being handed over to Silky.

Her delicate little face twitched, then she quickly finished the vegetables on her plate, "Whoosh!" - went upstairs to the guest room, and even stuffed a fruit into her bag before leaving.

Looking at the empty chair, I felt a little sad in my heart. Yo Xi! I decided to sleep with Silky tonight, no one can stop me, calling the guards is useless!

After finishing the meal, I chatted with my uncle for a while and asked for a bathtub and hot water. Then, headed for the second floor.

...

Plop~ Plop~

"Hey! Silky, don't move~ Be quiet, it's not the first time, and you're still so unhappy!"

At that moment, I was blindfolded with a black cloth, my back facing Silky, wiping my body, my skilled actions are heartbreaking.

"The hot water is limited, it's not the first time we've washed together, and I didn't even touch you, what are you shy about?"

The water was everywhere because Silky kept kicking me. In the end, I compromised and let her wash first, and then I washed afterward. I know what you're going to say!

I'm not a copper alchemist! This is irresistible! Yes, irresistible!

By the moonlight, I saw the white dumpling curled up at the foot of the bed. In the end, I still didn't enjoy the high-level pillow, feeling a bit resentful.

Milky white moonlight was sprinkled on the bed, and the silver hair reflects the light, the little face was red because of the bath. I moved the quilt towards Silky.

I don't know since when, but I can't live without this little guy, not only because we both come from Earth, but also because she is more like a family to me.

Nelstan Goddess! Your devout believer prays to you:

"May this bond never change."
