Chapter 40
"Take your time~~"
"Oh."
Samson Nan looked up and stared for a second, for no apparent reason.
"Feng, brother Feng?"
Roxie Lin looked stunned for a moment.
"What are you looking at?"
After all, Roxie Lin was a quite sensitive girl.
"No, nothing really. I just feel that you are different from usual today."
"Is that so?"
"But I cannot say exactly how, hehe."
Samson Nan spoke and his lips unconsciously curved upward.
"Oh...so, brother Feng...have you always paid attention to me?"
Roxie Lin's eyes flickered and she muttered.
"Samson Nan is basically saying that the length of your skirt is different from usual today~ haha, right?"
"......"
Samson Nan was speechless. Didn't that count as sexual harassment? Speaking of which, it was a miracle that William Wei hadn't been expelled from school yet...
"Huh?! Is that so?"
Roxie Lin subconsciously pulled down her skirt.
"Don't take it seriously..."
"I-I'm going to go busy myself."
Roxie Lin spoke and hurriedly ran away.
"..."
Samson Nan's impression of Roxie Lin probably stopped at "Raina Nan's classmate". Unlike Raina Nan or Bell Tong, she was not as eye-catching and always followed those two, quietly blending in.
But here, she was like a different person.
She probably liked it here? That was what Samson Nan thought.
"Speaking of which, Samson Nan."
Wei Ge put away his previously playful expression as Roxie Lin left.
"How long has it been since you contacted Luojia?"
"Huh?"
Samson Nan glanced at him, not understanding what he was trying to say.
"I mean..."
William Wei thought for a moment.
"Luojia has been back home for quite some time, right?"
"Ah."
"But..."
Perhaps he hadn't thought about what to say, so William Wei looked out the window in silence.
"Don't you think you've been a little cold to her?"
"What are you talking about..."
Samson Nan was confused by him.
"You weren't like this before, you know."
Before? In high school? or when?
"Forget it, I'm too lazy to argue with you, tsk tsk~ my heart aches for my Luojia~"
"What's with that tone?"
"Then let me ask you, do you know that Luojia is going to come to our school next week for a job interview?"
"Huh?!"
Samson Nan put down his coffee cup and looked at him in surprise.
"See, I told you that you didn't take Luojia seriously!"
Wei Ge raised his voice.
"But haven't you heard her mention it?"
"If she didn't mention it, wouldn't you ask?"
William Wei felt inexplicably angry.
"Okay, my bad. Tell me, what's going on?"
Samson Nan was helpless but didn't want to argue with him.
"My music teacher in that class went home to have a baby, so I have to fill in. I was worried about how to handle it. Later, when I was chatting with Luojia, I mentioned it. As a result, she surprisingly offered to help by standing in for me for a while."
William Wei spoke and smiled triumphantly.
"Substitute teaching? Can she handle it?"
Although Jocelyn York had a prestigious academic background and study abroad experience, it was not an easy task to teach in front of so many people in a class.
"Haha, who knows~"
This guy just wanted to watch the excitement...
"Oh, by the way, Raina..."
"What?"
"Nothing."
He suddenly remembered that Raina Nan was also in William Wei's class. With that in mind, was it really okay...?
A trace of uneasiness floated through his mind.Glancing at the time, it's almost time to leave. "Wait, that guest!" Two people stood up, ready to leave, but were stopped by the store manager named Xiangge. "Talking about me?" "It's not you, just stay to the side," the manager said, pushing William Wei aside. "Me?" Wei asked. Seeing the muscular man walking towards him with an aggressive stance, Samson Nan hesitated and looked around. "Yes, you! What can I do for you, brother?" Wei was confused by the sudden request. Looking around, several waitresses were glancing over and whispering to each other while smiling. "Help us send Ruoxi back home, okay?" Wei was taken aback by the strange request. "But it's not yet time to close," Roxie Lin interjected, looking confused. "Ruoxi, you've been so busy these days. It's okay to leave work early today. Let the young master Nan send you," the manager said with a wink. "Who's the young master Nan?" Roxie wondered. "Good luck, Ruoxi! We're rooting for you," the other waitresses chimed in. "What are you rooting for? I don't understand," Roxie said in a flutter, finally realizing the plan. "Let's go," Nan said, getting up. "Wait for us, too!" the manager called out to Wei. "Uh, no thanks. I've had enough food and drink already. Maybe next time. Bye!" Wei said, as the waitresses rushed over to close the door. Wei suddenly felt uneasy, as the waitresses' smiles became ominous. "Samson Nan, Samson Nan!" he screamed desperately outside the door, but Nan had walked too far away. The manager clapped his hands and called out, "Get some cakes for the young master!" "Help! Help me!" Wei yelled. Two minutes had passed without any talking between the two. Indeed, this was their first time alone together. Roxie Lin wanted to talk to him, but didn't know what to say. She envied Bell Tong, who always found something to laugh about when with him. "What are you thinking about?" Nan asked. "Nothing much, just thank you for sending me home. I'm so happy," Roxie said, embarrassed by her own words. "Thank you! By the way, Raina Nan told me that you took care of Yuyu at school," Nan said, smiling warmly."That guy, he's not really friendly. It's lucky for me to have a friend like you, haha."
"Xiaoyu is only fierce to Wind Brother, right? She's actually very popular at school."
"Uh, really?"
Samson Nan's face showed a hint of disappointment.
"No, no, no, that's just her way of expressing her likes!"
She paused for a moment, then suddenly realized that she might have misspoken.
"No, no, I mean 'like' as in 'like as a friend'! "
She blushed and anxiously tried to explain.
"Haha, you're actually quite funny."
Samson Nan couldn't help but laugh.
"Oh...funny?"
This was the first time she had heard someone describe her like that, and it was him.
What does "funny" mean? Is she like a clown, funny in a good or bad way?
She cared so much, too much, too much...
She felt like her head was smoking, but she was too embarrassed to ask.
"I'm complimenting you, complimenting you!"
"Really?"
She lifted her head, her watery pupils shimmering.
"Mhm."
He nodded.
The afternoon sun shone on his face, blending with his smile, and it became blurred.
Is Wind Brother a senior or a friend? She couldn't figure it out.
But it didn't seem too bad like this~
