631,
The whole family was here, every last one of them.
This should’ve been a happy moment. But looking at Elyse’s increasingly large belly, it seemed Fenger would be born soon, too.
But the crisis still hadn’t been resolved.
The problem Cyclone had always feared had finally arrived. That sis-con king was on his way here.
Yuna had nearly been shot in the battle just now. There was even a tiny bullet hole in her skirt.
That brief exchange, lasting only a few seconds, had already laid bare the difference between the two sides.
They were up against the rich man, the King of Twilight—an opponent even Yuna couldn’t kill instantly.
Never mind the armor he was wearing. That powerful armor, forged from some kind of precious metal, had come through the explosion without even a scratch.
But Yuna wasn’t stupid, either. Aside from the final explosive strike, she had slashed at him several times in close combat, and every attack had been aimed at the gaps between the pieces of armor.
Armor might be tough, but it had to leave room for the wearer to move.
That was exactly where Yuna had attacked. Yet when the enormous scythe cleaved into those gaps, it couldn’t cut through a thing.
The reason was the clothing he wore underneath. Those clothes that looked so expensive weren’t merely for show—they were soft armor woven from mysterious metal threads.
Yuna understood the moment her scythe came down.
Aside from his exposed head, the King of Twilight’s entire body was protected by armor. He was an elite warrior surrounded by luxurious equipment.
And that wasn’t all. Yuna’s scythe itself had been magically enhanced with every attribute, yet it still couldn’t hurt the King of Twilight. Clearly, that god-tier soft armor contained some unknown power as well.
This was basically a clash between reality itself: an unequal beatdown between a poor supporting character and a big shot with protagonist-level plot armor.
Thankfully, Cyclone had refused Yuna back then and hadn’t let her go play some assassination game by herself.
Otherwise, Eumerika wouldn’t be the only one in trouble now. His beloved Yuna would’ve been hurt as well.
But thinking about that now was already too late.
After finally rescuing Eumerika from beneath the King of Twilight’s feet, Cyclone’s family discovered another huge problem.
Their location—the place where everyone was hiding—had already been transmitted to the King of Twilight through the rune on Eumerika’s body.
“There’s no other way. Leave her here!”
Yuna had risked her life to rescue Eumerika, yet she still forced herself to say those cruel words.
The assassin squad was approaching from this direction. For everyone’s safety, they absolutely couldn’t keep Eumerika with them.
Yuna had no choice but to play the villain this time and be the first to suggest leaving Eumerika behind.
They had to get pregnant Elyse and the combat-incapable Cyclone out of there before the King of Twilight found them.
Just then, Little Dragon, who had been watching from the window, shouted.
“This is bad!! A magical beam of light just shot into the sky!”
Yuna walked over to the window and asked,
“How far away?”
“Still some distance away, but…”
It was a signal. It didn’t merely reveal the King of Twilight’s location—it also told all the assassins that their target wasn’t on the outskirts, but here.
“The assassins on the outskirts will be here soon. If this keeps up…”
Yuna walked back to Cyclone and told him the situation outright.
But Cyclone refused.
“No… I can’t leave her behind.”
“Honey!”
There was no reason he couldn’t abandon Eumerika. He really could.
What he called a little conscience was nothing more than selfish, willful stubbornness.
But even so, deep in Cyclone’s heart, there was still a line he couldn’t bring himself to cross.
“We’ve already fulfilled the Water Shrine’s demands, but they only sent one of the Four Saints. And now, because of her carelessness, we’re the ones being put in this situation!”
Yuna had hit the nail on the head, and Cyclone understood that perfectly well.
“You’re not wrong…”
Cyclone pressed a hand against the place where Eumerika was bleeding and fell into thought.
