As a servant, playing with the young lady is part of the job. Despite his strong reluctance, Daniel eventually gave in, seeing the eager eyes of Elyse and Sophiel.
Accepting Mikoni's challenge, they engaged in a one-on-one duel. At first, Daniel didn't think much about it. The opponent asked a question, and he answered. Starting from simple math questions to more challenging biology questions, and finally some current events topics. The questions were somewhat leading, and Daniel could tell that Mikoni wasn't really testing him but merely going through the motions to satisfy her little sister and Elyse's unreasonable demands.
After several rounds, as Elyse began to look smug, Mikoni changed her tune and asked a super difficult question. "For the fifth question, since you know this continent was once called the 'Allen Continent,' do you know why no one calls it that anymore?"
Daniel thought for a moment. "Haha! He can't answer that, can he?!" "No, no way!! Hey!! Don't lose now!"
"Because... because of a prophecy!" "A prophecy?!" Elyse tilted her head, indicating her confusion with even the word "prophecy."
Daniel was also nervous. Unlike other questions, this one involved history, with a mix of fact and fiction. He had never come across any discussions on this topic in books. Many books described the origin and prosperity of the Allen Continent, but when it came to its disappearance, there were hardly any records. Moreover, Daniel didn't have access to a lot of books despite his love for reading, as his father, a common tailor, couldn't provide an endless supply of books. Hence, the collection at home was limited.
While Daniel could analyze various academic studies from books and recite historical events he had read, he couldn't do much about something he had never come across in reading. Yet, he was still nervous. Daniel wanted to impress himself in front of Mikoni, making himself worthy in her eyes.
With no knowledge from books, Daniel relied on a memory he had from a particular song. He couldn't recall the content of the song, except for the discovery he made. After a moment of silence, Mikoni smiled. At that time, the young Daniel hadn't yet understood the significance of Mikoni's smile. "Correct," Mikoni affirmed. Getting that affirmation was a joyous moment. "Oh? You're smiling," "Hahaha~ See? I'm quite skilled as a servant," Mikoni only smiled, contrasting with Sophiel and Elyse's reactions. However, that smile captivated Daniel. In her purple eyes, he saw a whole new world.
"Questioning ends," Mikoni clapped her hands, signaling for the prepared desserts to be served. "Let's have some tea."
"Wow~♡♡"
"I really wish I could bring your pastry chef to the castle one day."
"Hehehe~ My mom would never leave me."
"Chuckle~ I know, that's why I came in person."
Daniel could tell that the desserts here would be more delicious than those at the castle. This sparked a bit of excitement in young Daniel, who had a simple desire for sweets back then. Upon seeing the desserts on the table, Elyse and Sophiel couldn't contain their excitement. However, they still maintained a bit of etiquette of young ladies, waiting for Mikoni's instructions before indulging in the treats.
"We... shall we start," Mikoni intentionally prolonged her words, making the young ladies wait a bit longer. "Let's dig in!"

Just a moment ago, they displayed a bit of propriety, but in front of the desserts, they turned into playful children. However, Daniel couldn't act that way. At least in front of Mikoni, he wanted to appear a bit more mature.
"Aren't you eating?" Upon hearing Mikoni's question, Daniel nodded. He picked up his fork, experiencing for the first time the joy of sitting at the table with someone he liked.
