(557) Both Ends of Words

After a round of laughter, Cyclone spoke calmly. "This is indeed a feasible plan, and I finally understand why you could choose to turn a blind eye to the loss of the Holy Altar."

The more things became clear, the more unsettled Cyclone felt. "It's as if you want to turn Allen King's ambition against him, even going as far as to turn the Great Dragon against him," he said, lowering his head and not looking at the Lord, his words not phrased as a question.

In response to Cyclone's words, the Lord replied bluntly, "With the perfect timing, geographical advantage, and human resources all in place, how could we not take advantage of it? But... I still don't understand, is it really okay not being able to control the Great Dragon?" The one asking this question was not Cyclone, but Godeo.

Surprisingly, the one answering this question was not the Lord, but Cyclone instead. "It's not about whether we can control it or not. As long as the Great Dragon shows up, we can make a big fuss about it."

Echoing Cyclone's statement, the Lord added, "As I've said, no one can truly control the Great Dragon. Even those like Alexander at best can just shift the battlefield."

In Cyclone's mind, shouldn't the strongest person here be the vampire Lord himself? But observing the reactions of the Four Saints, Cyclone had a clue. Perhaps, aside from Alexander and himself, the other three Four Saints were also unaware of this mysterious identity.

"Shifting the battlefield should be sufficient for you, right?" Cyclone redirected the focus back to the main point.

"Yes," the Lord replied, as Alexander stepped forward, making Cyclone look at him. "According to the last report from our scout, they plan to use the Great Dragon to destroy the Water Church, then accuse the Water Church, even going as far as to claim that even the Great Dragon denies the existence of the Water Church."

"Hah," Cyclone couldn't help but chuckle at Alexander's words. "They are so foolish."

This was Cyclone's initial impression - using the same tactic, they could turn the tables and claim that the Water Church was willing to sacrifice, using love to calm the Great Dragon's anger. In the end, Cyclone could only offer a helpless smile. "In the end, as long as you point fingers back at the heretics, everything will fall into place according to your plan, tarnishing King Kakal's reputation."

The power of words ran deep, provoking extreme thoughts through just one event, one speech. The two ends of words all lay within a single utterance.

"Haha, you see, Alexander, this young man is much smarter than you," the Lord laughed heartily, pleased that Cyclone could read his mind without missing a beat. He laughed so hard that he had to press down on his heart to avoid dying from laughter. "Really, one takes half a day, one takes a week, and the other two still can't figure it out until now."

The Lord wiped away his tears of laughter, complaining about his subordinates, while Alexander sweated nervously, and Eumerika smirked sneakily for the remaining two.

"Now that you understand everything, you know what to do next, right?" Infiltrate the heart of the heretics, gather intelligence, pinpoint the locations where the Great Dragon may be forced to attack, or strike preemptively, using words to control the heretics' movements.

After understanding the Lord's intentions, Cyclone maintained his sitting posture with crossed arms and legs and said, "I understand the rationale, but I'm sorry, I don't want to participate."

His once smiling face slowly turned serious. In an instant, the gazes of the Lord and the Four Saints returned to Cyclone.

"You mentioned a 'scout' just now, right? Since you have a scout, you don't need me..." Cyclone looked straight into the Lord's eyes, articulating his reasons for refusal, word by word. "Either that or the scout is gone, but why would they be gone? If I'm not mistaken..."

"He's dead," the Lord cut in before Cyclone could finish. "He was discovered and killed at the same time."
