(466) Falling Asleep Before the Battle Begins

466,

Just as Elyse was on the verge of grasping the spirit of the Theodore family, an explosion shattered everyone's thoughts. The sudden explosion caught everyone off guard. Only Yuna vaguely sensed a surge of magic and managed to pull Elyse down to safety just before the blast. The explosion did not harm the Cyclone family, but it blew a large hole in the inn. At the center of the four rooms stacked on top of each other, a gaping hole was created, connecting the four rooms into one. Cyclone gazed across the room to find a silver-haired beauty casually munching on a bun. Unfazed, as if the explosion was no big deal. Meanwhile, Yuna, shielding Elyse, looked down at the bottom of the hole towards the room below. The furnishings in that room were identical to theirs, but the guests in that room all had eyes that reminded Elyse of certain individuals in her memory. "It's them!" Startled, Elyse hurriedly crawled towards Cyclone, with Yuna and the occupants of the room staring at each other in astonishment. Ten people in total, seven men and three women. Though they did not recognize Yuna, they knew Elyse well. They were the strongest assassination group in the City of Dusk, sent by the king to eliminate Elyse to prevent her from being with another man. Previously, they not only failed to finish off Elyse despite one of their skilled members wearing a fox mask attacking her, but Elyse was also rescued. Since then, they had been lurking in Kakarl, searching fruitlessly for clues. Little did they expect to find her again on the very day they were about to depart. And who would have thought that the woman standing atop a high place, watching them, was the fox who saved Elyse that day. The ignorant assassins glanced at each other and, reaching a silent agreement, prepared to draw their concealed weapons. Observing their movements, Yuna, along with the woman's intuition, knew that a battle was imminent. Just as she was about to act preemptively, the door of Cyclone's room swung open, and a loud female voice echoed in. "No one move!!!" Both Cyclone and Yuna were stunned. Bursting in was Eumerika, one of the Four Holy Saints. Ignoring the residents' safety in her pursuit of capturing the underground doctor who healed heretics, Eumerika glanced at the motionless Cyclone. Cyclone was at a loss on how to react, only hoping not to be exposed. What surprised Cyclone even more was the three men behind Eumerika, one of whom was a middle-aged man known to Cyclone. "The F-Four Holy Saints..." On the other side, watching the scene, Onigashima couldn't help but break into a cold sweat. His body was warning him that although he did not recognize the Four Holy Saints, there was an aura of oppression emanating from them, undoubtedly masters among masters. But that wasn't all; Onigashima's keen nose detected a scent of vampires coming off these four individuals.

Watching the four formidable opponents and clutching the vampire intel, Onigashima began to tense up.

"Not good..."

Onigashima dared not look away, rapidly analyzing the situation in his mind.

Big sis must be having her meal now... that true foodie, once she starts eating, she'll...

Onigashima sneakily glanced to the side.

In a completely different world, even the art style had changed, but Sophiel was lost in the soup dumplings she had just bought, completely ignoring the present scenario.

"..."

After a brief silence, Onigashima spoke.

"Urgent situation, Marcina, my sister! Let's do a joint feeding this time!!!!"

Eyes nearly popping out, Marcina was slumped next to the wall, face pressed against it, seemingly ready to doze off.

"Ugh... been walking all day, we're already exhausted..."

Lifeless eyes, face buried in the wall, Marcina slowly slid down to the ground like a corpse.

"Hey hey hey! Shouldn't you assess the situation before deciding to rest!?"

Onigashima complained, but it couldn't stop Marcina's decision.

"Tsk tsk tsk~ We're tired..."

And so, before the battle even began, Marcina, the strongest mage of Team Sophiel, had already drifted off into dreamland.
