282,
Asmod stood across from Cyclone for several seconds, with Yuna to the right and Himiko to the left. Cyclone knew exactly what to say, but before he could speak up, Asmod had already guessed what Cyclone wanted to say next. "You two, leave."
"But..." Himiko was surprised to hear her father ask them to leave.
At first, Cyclone didn't understand. As the Demon General, Asmod was the one he should be afraid of, not Cyclone himself. But looking into Himiko's eyes, he realized that her concern was not for him, but for Asmod.
In contrast, Yuna, who reacted normally, took a few steps forward. Turning her back to Cyclone, she faced Asmod as if to protect Cyclone. "Do you really want this?"
But Yuna's words made Cyclone swallow his saliva. He knew that what he was about to say would be impolite, but there were some things that had to be said, and he couldn't avoid them. "I..."
No one heard the first word because Cyclone's voice was so small. But this time, he couldn't do that. This time, he came in the name of Allen the Hero. "You two, leave. I have something to say to Asmod."
By directly calling him by his name, Cyclone knew that he was being impolite according to Cabellus' teaching, but the name itself had no superiority or inferiority. In other words, by saying this, Cyclone was facing Asmod as an equal, as the Demon General. Yes, as Allen the Hero, he didn't elevate himself or degrade himself, but engaged in dialogue from an equal position.
Asmod felt a different atmosphere from Cyclone and no longer saw the clown who kneeled before him. Instead, a person with a firm will stood before him.
Of course, Yuna and Himiko were a bit surprised by Cyclone's words, but Asmod gestured with one hand, which clearly conveyed his thoughts. With no other choice, Yuna and Himiko jumped out of the window of the stable. Before jumping out, Yuna turned her head to glance at Cyclone, but he didn't notice because he was looking straight at Asmod.
The environment became extremely calm again, and the moonlight seemed to bring a poetic touch to the area. "Well... now it's just you and me."
Yes, Asmod had asked his two daughters to leave in order to create a space for the two of them. "Then I'll get straight to the point."
There was no trembling in his voice. Cyclone clearly enunciated every word. His gaze, just like Asmod's, had absolute conviction. "I have a way to save Yuna and the other demons. At least, I can stop this witch hunt and all the killings that come with it."
Suddenly, Asmod stood up. His huge and strong body towered over Cyclone by two heads.
If we were to compare, it would be like a gigantic monster standing in front of a weak human race.
But suddenly, Asmodus knelt down on one knee and grabbed his left arm with his hand.
In that moment, Cyclone finally understood what Himiko was worried about.
Asmodus was now heavily injured, and his weakness had reached a point where even Cyclone could kill him.
"Ha..." gasped Asmodus as he stood back up, but he didn't let go of his arm.
"Do I look like this gives you any more confidence to say what you want to say to me?" he asked.
Truly a representative of demons, even in this weakened state, Asmodus could still laugh effortlessly.
Proud like he wasn't afraid of death, Cyclone felt admiration for Asmodus.
Cyclone nodded.
"Somewhat, but honestly, with more confidence comes more unease," he admitted.
"I see..." said Asmodus.
"Yes," replied Cyclone truthfully, there was no point in hiding it anymore.
"You said you can save my two daughters?"
"That's right."
"You can change the current situation?"
"That's right."
"The situation I'm referring to is the world's hatred towards demons—are you really able to change that?"
With the last sentence, Asmodus's tone became much more serious, even more so than his initial two questions.
"That's right."
But Cyclone's answer remained the same as before, confident.
"I can do it, as long as..."
Although Asmodus was two heads taller than Cyclone, Cyclone could feel it when he looked at Asmodus.
This person in front of him possessed a soul that could be compared to his own.
"As long as...you're dead."
