I stayed in the hospital for ten days before being discharged. During that time, Zhiye took care of me meticulously. Of course, Su Yuqian would often come to visit me and bring me homemade chicken soup. Sometimes, they would inexplicably get into arguments, but I was the one who got hurt. I could only mediate and hope they wouldn't argue, but their responses would leave me speechless.

"Jie, please don't interfere in my duel with Su Yuqian,"

"Youjie, just close your eyes and go to sleep,"

The hospital room was turned upside down by their quarrels, and my peace was completely disturbed by them. Finally, I made it through and was grateful to God for finally letting me leave the hospital. Although my body recovered, I felt exhausted physically and mentally. Even standing in front of the house, I couldn't feel happy seeing my mother and Feiya welcoming me. Of course, there was also another reason.

"Mother, didn't you even come to visit your son when he was in the hospital?" I complained.

"Youjie has Zhiye taking care of him, I'm sure Youjie enjoys it," she replied.

"Not at all!" I shouted.

"You ungrateful brat! Can't appreciate the blessings you have..."

Without another word, my mother grabbed my neck.

"...can't breathe..." I tapped her arm, pleading for her to let go.

"Youjie, you really don't know how to speak, nor do you understand your mother's good intentions," she scolded.

"If you had any good intentions, you would have at least come to the hospital," I retorted.

"Is Youjie still a child who hasn't grown up? Still relying on his mother?" she asked.

"I'm not a child. I'm just not happy," I said.

"Don't act like a child," my mother laughed.

"Zhiye... welcome back," my mother greeted Zhiye behind me with a smile.

"I'm back, Mother..." Zhiye bowed deeply.

"Zhiye..." My mother gestured.

"Yes..." Zhiye walked over to my mother's side, and they began whispering to each other.

"Zhiye, did you manage to convey your feelings to Jie?"

"Of course... but..." Zhiye's face became gloomy.

"What's wrong?"

"I still have flaws that haven't been recognized by Jie."

"My stubborn son..." sighed my mother.

"Mother, I will work harder and won't give up easily," Zhiye said firmly.

"I have faith in you, Zhiye."

Both Zhiye and my mother smiled. What were they happily chatting about?

"Youjie, Feiya," Feiya said.

"Sorry, Feiya couldn't visit Youjie at the hospital," Feiya apologized.

"It's enough that you had the intention, Feiya," I replied.

"Is Youjie alright now?"

"Of course, I'm in great health now."

"Don't just stand at the doorway. Come in. Mom made a lot of delicious food," Feiya said.

"Uh... I don't have much of an appetite."

"Youjie, you must eat everything," she insisted.

"Leave me alone!"

A few more days passed. While I was still in the hospital, I had asked Zhiye about An Lisi's whereabouts.

Zhiye replied, "I'm not sure."

Afterwards, I went to the apartment where An Lisi was staying. Aunt Zheng said that An Lisi had already checked out and she didn't know where she had gone.

I hope nothing has happened to her. Although I was worried, I had already made it clear to An Lisi, and she should have understood by now.

Just as I was concerned about this, I received an email on my phone. The sender was An Lisi, so I quickly opened the email. It said:

"Today, I am going to France with my mother. But before I leave, I want to meet with you, Yu Gege. Can I?"

Mother? Did An Lisi reunite with her mother?

Without thinking too much, I put on casual clothes and planned to go out. At the door, I ran into Zhiye.

"Where are you going, Jie?"

"I have something to take care of..."

"Are you going to meet another girl?"

"... "

"Is it true?" The temperature around Zhiye dropped to freezing.

"I handed my phone to Zhiye."

Zhiye was confused but still glanced at the screen.

"Jie, are you going to meet this girl? Jie, I won't allow you to cheat."

"I would never do such a thing. I just want to say a proper goodbye."

I explained.

"Then let me go with you."

"Zhiye, you want to come too? It doesn't seem appropriate."

"I want to go with you, Jie." Zhiye stood at the door, it seemed like she wouldn't let me leave if I didn't agree.

"Fine... but please don't bring out any weapons like last time."

I instructed.

"I'll listen to whatever Jie says." Zhiye agreed.

"Alright... let's go." I said as I walked towards the hallway. Zhiye hesitated for a moment, as if she had forgotten something. Just as I was about to call her, she appeared with a katana in her hand.

"Why do you have a sword?"

"This is for unexpected situations..."

"The security in this city is not that bad. You don't need to bring that."

"Just in case. In case someone suddenly attacks you, I can use the sword to take their life in an instant."

"You're skilled in swordsmanship? But... please don't use it lightly."

"You can trust me on that. My sword is only for those who harm you."

Zhiye said with a smile.

"Alright, let's go..." I gave up on convincing Zhiye to leave her sword behind. If something really happened, I would figure it out later.

With that, Zhiye and I left the apartment. We hailed a taxi and headed to the airport. When we got off near the entrance, I saw An Lisi.

An Lisi seemed to have seen me too, as she ran towards me with a joyful smile. "Yu Gege!"

"An Lisi... It's been a while."

"I was worried that you wouldn't come. Worried that I wouldn't be able to see you one last time."

"What's wrong? You're talking as if it's a farewell."

"Because I'm going abroad..." An Lisi said sadly.

"But isn't that a good thing? And aren't you with your mother now?"

I looked at the woman standing not far behind An Lisi. She had a similar appearance and golden hair. She was looking over here with a suitcase in her hand.

"I have mixed feelings about this familiar yet unfamiliar mother," An Lisi said with joy and uneasiness.

"Why is joy both unsettling and comforting?"

"Joy is because I saw my mother again, learned about her helplessness at the time, and realized that she did love me. The unsettling part is my fear that happiness will be fleeting, just like the happiness my brother Yu gave me."

"I'm sorry..." Those are the only three words I can think of.

"Yu, you don't have to apologize. As you said, because your heart was filled with emptiness and loneliness, when you appeared, you gave me light and a reason to live. But I also did some extreme things. I should be the one to say sorry."

An Lisi said in a guilty tone.

"Let the past be the past. Now An Lisi should focus on living her own life."

"Mm..." An Lisi nodded.

"Yu, I have a question for you," An Lisi suddenly said.

"Go ahead."

"Yu, your girlfriend is Su Yuqian, right? Then who is this girl? She claimed to be your fiancée at the time..."

"Well..."

"I am Jie's fiancée. This has been the case since I was six years old," Zhiye interrupted.

"Is that so?" An Lisi looked surprised, and I didn't know how to explain it to her.

"It seems like it, but it's only in name," I could only give a vague answer.

"Jie... how did you end up liking me? Why did I do so many things... I won't give up easily."

Zhiye said tearfully.

"Zhiye... we are in the same boat," An Lisi walked up to Zhiye and held her hand.

"Finally, someone who understands me. I like Jie so much. Because I can't have his love, I have become so strange now, but my heart will never change."

"Experiencing heartbreak is a feeling I deeply understand too."

The two embraced and wept while I felt awkward.

After a while, An Lisi's mother called out, and An Lisi stopped crying.

"I'm sorry... I even wanted to kill you at that time."

"I also have my faults. I shouldn't have done such things for my own desires."

It seemed like their grievances had been resolved.

"Well... I should go now, Zhiye, Yu, until we meet again."

An Lisi said sadly and turned around.

"If we can't contact each other by phone, write letters..."

I shouted at An Lisi, but she kept walking farther away.

But halfway through, she suddenly ran back, which confused me.

She seemed to say something and then kissed me on the cheek. By the time I reacted, she had already gone back to her mother and followed her into the airport.

What did she say? Why did she do that? I touched the place she kissed me, and my face heated up.

"Jie... did you enjoy it?" I felt the temperature around me dropping rapidly.

"No... I didn't..." I instinctively sensed the danger and said.

"To think she would do such a thing to Jie when I wasn't paying attention... Unforgivable... Unforgivable,"

Zhiye repeated like she had broken down, and she even pulled out a knife in front of everyone.

I realized I was in big trouble. It took quite some time to make Zhiye regain her sanity and stop her actions.

When I got back home, my mother and Su Yuqian were sitting on the couch.

"I have an announcement," I solemnly said to my mother in the living room. "It's about the decision I have to make while attending college at Youjie. Whether to choose Su Yuqian or Zhiye."

"Huh? What are you talking about, Mother?" I was shocked to hear this.

"That's exactly what I said. Youjie has to make a decision in college about who to marry."

"This is so unexpected, and besides..."

"It's foolish to jump to conclusions too early," Mother interrupted me.

"Mother, have you considered how others feel?" I looked towards Su Yuqian.

"Yuqian doesn't mind either," Mother replied.

"No objections... but I still need to understand and observe Youjie better before making a hasty decision."

"That's right, so... this marriage application," I pointed to the marriage application that Su Yuqian and I had signed, but Mother tore it into pieces in an instant.

"Then I also have a chance... Jie..." Zhiye seemed extremely happy.

"Mother, you completely disregarded my feelings!" I protested, but I was completely ignored.
