"You're still awake? Come to the park,"
These few short words puzzled me,
"The park?"
"The couple... the couple's park, do I have to say it out loud? Can't your brain work faster?"
"Yes... I'll go right away."
Unexpectedly, I was scolded as soon as I arrived. It was already ten o'clock at night. Su Yuqian must have something to tell me about what happened in the morning. Without any hesitation, I left the house. The streets at night were dim and quiet. There were fewer pedestrians, and the constant stream of cars was nowhere to be seen.
At the entrance of the couple's park, I saw Su Yuqian, wearing a white dress and her signature twin ponytail hairstyle that she never changed. Under the moonlight, she looked like an angel.
"So slow..." She said impatiently,
"I came as fast as I could..." The beads of sweat on my forehead proved that I wasn't lying.
Su Yuqian glanced at my face and didn't say anything. She just turned her back to me and walked into the park. I silently followed behind her.
In the couple's park at night, there were still some couples who wanted to taste forbidden fruit. The arousing sounds reached my ears. Normally, I would feel embarrassed, but now, it seemed like I was in another world.
Su Yuqian seemed to intend to keep walking like this, without saying anything. It should be me who breaks the silence.
After a few more steps, I asked, "How is Muxi? Is she okay?"
"Muxi was a little scared, but she's physically fine," Su Yuqian stopped and answered.
"My cousin really doesn't know any better..." I mumbled. "She realizes her mistake and I will make sure she apologizes to Muxi."
"Yes, it's really wrong to suddenly throw things at someone," Su Yuqian agreed.
"I'm also not sure what really happened..."
After saying these words, Su Yuqian continued walking. The conversations between us had become awkward and difficult. I wanted to say something, but I didn't know what to say. My mind was in chaos. When I finally thought of something to say,
"I think it's too childish to be in a relationship in high school. What do you think?"
Su Yuqian's question caught me off guard.
"It seems it's better to finish high school first," Su Yuqian's words seemed to be directed at herself and also to me.
"So let's break up... anyway, you don't like me, and I don't like you."
Suddenly, it felt like a dagger pierced my chest.
"Our personalities don't match, we're not compatible... besides, in my eyes, you're just an NPC."
Even though Su Yuqian said it so casually, tears filled her eyes. She turned away as if not wanting me to see.
"I don't have any attachment to this relationship that was never hopeful in the first place," she cried, but claimed it was because of sand in her eyes.
After saying that, Su Yuqian prepared to leave. I grabbed her hand.
"What's the matter? Didn't I say we broke up?" Su Yuqian said loudly.
"You didn't let me finish," I said slowly.
"What else do you have to say?! Isn't this result good enough?"
"Not good at all!" I exclaimed loudly. "Not good at all," my voice gradually grew weaker.
"I did something ridiculous and seem to have gotten myself into trouble. I just used the wrong approach, trying to hide this matter, but it seems that the truth always comes out."
"Is that An Lisi person not your cousin? And since when did you have a romantic relationship with her?"
Su Yuqian was questioning me. At some point, I still felt wronged. It was something I did out of helplessness. Looking back now, I realize that I didn't handle the situation decisively. I simply indulged, and I can only blame myself for the resulting outcome. But it's not too late.
I explained in detail the events and reasons that led to this relationship.
"I never expected you to still meddle in things you shouldn't. Should I say you're too kind or too foolish?" Su Yuqian said with a blaming tone.
"I'm not sure either, are you?" I asked.
"I'm not sure, and I don't want to get involved in the things you like to meddle in," Su Yuqian said, turning her head to the side.
"But I won't agree to break up with you. Even though you have a bad temper, love to make trouble, and don't listen to advice, you signed the marriage application with me, so you can be considered my legal fiancée."
"Signing a piece of paper doesn't mean anything, and besides, I don't want to be your fiancée. You're so lousy," I responded.
"How am I lousy?"
I felt unjustly accused.
"Anyway, you're my servant, my slave. You can never be on equal footing with me."
"Yes, Miss," Su Yuqian continued to be rebellious as always.
"That's more like it. Well, if you still want to maintain our current relationship, then I reluctantly won't break up," Su Yuqian said, putting on an air of superiority. I found it both amusing and frustrating.
"But... we still have to end this improper relationship. It's for the best for everyone. I don't want... I don't want my boyfriend to be indecisive, and I'll try my best to become someone you like..." Su Yuqian blushed and said shyly.
"You said you don't want me to be indecisive?"
"I didn't say anything," she quickly denied, even though it was clear she had just said that. I really couldn't understand her.
"Dark..."
As we walked to a dimly lit area, just as I was about to suggest turning back, I felt her hand tightly grabbing mine.
"I just feel like it's dark, it's not that I'm scared," she said.
"It feels like it's more than that," I replied.
"Stop talking nonsense. A servant should protect their master, shield them from the wind and rain," she said.
"Yes, yes..."
I couldn't argue with her. I could only lead the way ahead, in the quiet night, in the slightly bustling lover's park, with a servant still keeping watch over the so-called "Miss" as we strolled through the park.
