Because I overslept, I had to buy some bread from the convenience store on the way to school. The bread was really hard, I hope it's not expired.

"Welcome, come again," I heard a friendly voice behind me as I left the convenience store.

"Next time...who knows," I murmured unhappily while taking another bite of the bread. The road to school felt like a journey from a hero's castle to a demon's fortress. The hot and humid air of summer enveloped my body even though it was still morning.

"It's so hot. Why does it feel like my body temperature is rising quickly? Could I have some strange illness?" I wondered.

After finishing the bread in a few bites, I threw the plastic packaging into the garbage bin. It was time to go to school.

The morning sunlight was unusually gentle, casting a warm glow on everyone's face. But it would have been better if it was winter, as I could have avoided the sunlight.

"Youjie, good morning!" I ran into Yuan Muxi at the school gate.

"Good morning, Muxi," I greeted her.

After saying hello, I noticed that Yuan Muxi was staring at my face.

"Is there something on my face?" I asked anxiously. Yuan Muxi didn't say anything immediately, but gently touched my left cheek.

"There's something on your face, Youjie." Yuan Muxi opened her snow-white palm, revealing something that looked like bread crumbs.

"Thank...thank you." I forgot to wipe my face after eating. Darn it, it was obviously a crumbly bread.

"No...no problem." Yuan Muxi's face blushed slightly.

"We should hurry to class, shouldn't we?"

"Well..." Yuan Muxi seemed to have something to say, standing still instead of moving.

"If we don't go now, we'll be late," I said. I only had about twenty minutes from leaving home, and I wasted some time at the convenience store. It was probably only five minutes left now. It would take about two minutes to cross the school courtyard and another two minutes to get to the classroom. Time was running out.

"What's the matter?"

"Well...well...well..." Yuan Muxi's face turned redder. What was wrong with her? Did she also have some strange illness?

"If you don't leave now, we'll really be late," I said, feeling like an ant on a hot pot.

"Well...Can you...Can you...Can you..." Yuan Muxi was gasping for breath, resembling someone with asthma.

"What is it? Take your time, there's no need to rush," I said, giving up on being late.

"Sorry...I...I was wondering if...if...if you're free this Sunday...I was thinking...I was thinking..." Yuan Muxi's face was red as she looked up at me.

"About what?"

"Do you have any plans?" Yuan Muxi asked hurriedly.

"No, I usually have free time on weekends," I replied. Weekends were usually spent lazily, just daydreaming, reading, listening to music, and sleeping. The past two weeks were a bit busy, but this week would probably be the same as usual.

"Well..." Yuan Muxi looked delighted.

"Well... no problem," I agreed readily.

"So let's meet on Sunday at ten o'clock, at the same swimming pool we went to before."

"Okay."

After we finished speaking, the bell rang for class.

"Oh no, Youjie, let's hurry back to the classroom."

"Oh, right." I ran back to the classroom with Yuan Muxi. Su Yuqian seemed to have arrived early, and she was staring at me with a cold look. When I looked back at her, she turned her head away in annoyance.

"What's her problem?" I muttered unhappily, returning to my seat and hanging my JK bag on the side of the desk.

The first class was Chinese language class, mainly focused on recitation.

"So... let's have Youjie recite a passage from the Lu Xun text."

"Huh?" How did it become my turn so quickly? I stood up in confusion.

"Please start from here..."

"Start from here...?" I found the location of these two words, but how was I supposed to read them...

"Read it with emotion."

"Read it with emotion? Give me a break."

"Huh?!" The whole class gasped in surprise.

"Oh... I said that unconsciously." I lowered my head in embarrassment. I had accidentally said what I was thinking out loud.

"Then go ahead and recite." Couldn't the teacher have picked someone else? I shot a glance at the teacher, who was trembling slightly with fear.

"Don't be nervous... take your time."

Seems like there's no escaping it after all. I reluctantly picked up the textbook and read it in an unwilling manner: "A true warrior dares to face the bleakness of life, dares to face the flowing blood... What sorrow and happiness are these..."

"Ah hahaha!" These guys burst into laughter, hey hey hey, I'm not doing a comedy show while reciting.

But they continued to laugh, so I had to grit my teeth and finish the last sentence: "If you don't explode, you will be destroyed in silence!"

With a powerful roar, the classroom fell silent. Finally, the atmosphere calmed down.

This atmosphere lasted for a few minutes before the teacher broke it.

"Ah~ Youjie recited it with great spirit. Um... please sit down." The teacher also seemed a bit embarrassed.

Feeling exhausted, I sat down. In fact, reciting was not an easy task. After that, a few other students were chosen to recite. Finally, the teacher ended the class after discussing some central ideas.

After the class ended, boredom ensued as usual. I could only pass the time by sleeping. Just as I was about to lie down, someone tapped my back. I looked and saw it was Su Yuqian.

"What's up?"

"Don't waste time, just come with me." She quickly pulled me out and stopped in a corner, crossing her arms and looking at me.

Why does she seem like a spoiled princess?

"What did you bring me out here for?" I asked.

"You should know yourself."

"I should know myself?" At first, I was a little confused, but then I suddenly realized. Could it be that she found out I was pretending to date An Lisi? But that day, when An Lisi came to the classroom looking for me, I ran out as fast as I could. She couldn't have noticed.

"What are you referring to?" Without knowing the truth, I can't expose myself first.

"You... you know it yourself," Su Yuqian seemed a bit uncertain.

"I really have no idea," I looked at her with a serious gaze, and at that moment her face suddenly turned red and she looked in a certain direction.

"Did you... come to school with Mu Xi this morning?" she muttered.

"Yeah,"

"Um~~~" Su Yuqian suddenly punched my stomach, the pain made me quickly cover my stomach.

"Why did you randomly punch me?" I said a little displeased.

"Because I wanted to punch you in the stomach," Su Yuqian was being unreasonable.

"It's really unreasonable, and it really hurts." The hard bread I had for breakfast made me struggle, and I probably need to throw it all up now.

"You idiot, scumbag," Su Yuqian inexplicably started to curse at me. What's wrong?

After she finished cursing, she prepared to turn and leave. I suddenly grabbed her wrist.

"Let go of me... you idiot," Su Yuqian called me that way, and the more she did, the less I wanted to let go. Why do I have to endure her baseless accusations? Why does she always have a cold and indifferent look towards me? The sentence from Chinese class, "If you don't explode in silence, you will perish in silence," triggered the anger that had been hidden in my heart for a long time.

"Is this how I appear in your eyes? Am I nothing, just like dust?" I felt controlled by anger, "Do you really like me, or is our relationship just a facade?"

"Let go of me!!" Su Yuqian started to resist, even using her other hand to hit me.

"I won't let go unless you make yourself clear," I didn't back down either.

"Fine, since you want to know so badly, I'll tell you. In my eyes, you're nothing. I have no feelings of liking towards you at all. I just see you as a toy," Su Yuqian's words pierced my heart, and I stayed frozen for a long time. I don't know when Su Yuqian broke free from my grip and ran away.

I leaned against the wall and couldn't come back to my senses for a long time. It wasn't until the bell rang for class that I returned to the classroom like a soulless body, but Su Yuqian wasn't there. Damn it! She's truly a crazy woman.

I vented my frustration and continued to attend class in a daze. Until lunch break, Su Yuqian still hadn't appeared in the classroom.

It seemed like there was no lunch for me today. I stood up and prepared to go to the store to buy some bread to satisfy my hunger. At that moment, Yuan Muxi walked over with a concerned expression and asked, "Youjie, did something happen just now?"

"What's wrong?" I pretended to be ignorant and asked.

"When the first class ended just now, it seemed like Yuqian took you out, right?"

"That's right..."

"So, did something happen? Why didn't I see Yuqian..."

"I don't know where she went."

"Do you want to call her?"

"No need... she's not a child." I stopped Yuan Muxi from calling Su Yuqian.

"Is that so? Are you sure nothing happened?" Yuan Muxi still seemed worried.

"I already said she's fine!" I couldn't control my emotions properly and yelled at Yuan Muxi.

"Sorry..." I quickly apologized when I realized my mistake.

"It's alright. I'll leave then," I said this and left the classroom, while Yuan Muxi remained frozen in her spot because of what I said earlier.

As I went downstairs, each step felt heavy and depressing. What on earth! I had a bunch of anger pent up inside me, but even if I were to shout at the sky, it wouldn't do any good. So, I decided not to waste my precious energy anymore and went to the store to buy some bread to satisfy my hunger. But this time, I have to choose carefully and not buy some overly hard bread.
