"Su Yuqian... still exists..."
"Where is she? Tell me, where is she?"
A white space with a hollow voice told me that Su Yuqian still exists,
but where is she? No matter how I asked, the voice refused to answer me. After repeating several times, it gradually disappeared.
Then the white space was covered by a strong white light. Unable to bear such brightness, I closed my eyes.
When I opened my eyes again, the surrounding scene had changed.
Above my line of sight was a ceiling, with windows, a wardrobe, and a desk on the left and right respectively.
I seemed to be in someone's room, but I wasn't sure whose room it was. I tried to recall something, but my mind was blank and I couldn't remember anything.
Following some kind of instinct, I propped myself up from the bed and got out of it. There was a unique smell in the air, similar to processed ginger.
I looked towards the desk and saw a bowl of cold ginger soup. Who made this? Was it meant for me to drink?
Since I don't like ginger soup, I ignored it and walked towards the door. My body felt weak for some reason, to the point that it took a great effort to reach the door. I walked through the corridor and arrived in the living room.
There I saw a girl with long black hair, sitting on the floor with her knees together, holding a sharp fruit knife in her hand.
- What is she trying to do?!
When I saw the blade about to touch her wrist, I rushed over at a rapid speed.
"The knife is dangerous!"
I snatched the fruit knife from her hand, sweating profusely.
She froze for a moment and looked up at me.
"Jie..." She cried and hugged me.
"Who are you?" This girl in front of me looked familiar, but for some reason, I couldn't remember her name.
"Jie... don't you recognize me?" She asked me with a puzzled expression.
"Sorry... I can't recall at the moment," my mind was still blank. I could only apologize.
"I'm Xia Zhiye..." The girl introduced herself.
"Xia Zhiye, that's a nice name..."
As I said that, I realized I hadn't introduced myself yet, which was a bit absent-minded. But when I tried to say my own name, I found that I didn't know what my own name was.
"I... I can't remember my own name?" I said with a wry smile.
"Jie, can't even remember your own name?" Zhiye asked, tilting her head.
"My full name is Xu Youjie..."
"Xu Youjie? Is that my name?"
"It's your name, Jie..." Zhiye nodded with a smile.
After believing that it was my name, I remembered something important.
"What were you doing just now? Why were you holding a knife?"
"... because you've been unconscious, I thought about committing suicide..."
Zhiye said with a dark expression.
"Why would you do something so foolish..."
"Because I love you, Jie. I can't live without you..."
Although there was an indescribable familiarity, I... felt like I was meeting her for the first time. Why would this girl who seemed like a mature older sister suddenly have an unexplained liking for me?
"Jie, don't you remember?" Zhiye's words left me at a loss. I shook my head slightly in response.
"I'm Jie's fiancée, and this is our home..."
"You're my fiancée?"
I didn't have a very practical feeling about it.
"Yes... Jie is my husband..."
"Well... it seems like we're not old enough to get married yet," I blurted out without knowing why, and hearing Zhiye say that made my face burn like a fever.
"We can get married in a few more years."
"That's not what I meant."
"Then what did Jie mean?"
"Are you... really my fiancée? Is this really our home?"
"Every word I said is true..." Zhiye said with such certainty, and I couldn't argue.
"Well then, please take care of me..." Those were the only words that came to my mind, and I worried if it sounded reasonable.
But Zhiye smiled and said, "I should be the one saying that. Please take care of me."
