Chapter 13: The Overlooked Green
update icon Updated at 2025/8/20 7:10:12

"The Supreme God" - literally means the king of all gods.

Not all gods are like the God of Light, who needs to manage their own domain on a daily basis. Most of them have their own exclusive domains, where they live and their existence contributes to the functioning of the world.

Although these contributions have a minimal impact on the world, the fundamental energy within them is extremely valuable - it is the power of the world's origin that gives birth to the gods.

After the fragments of the world's origin have given birth to the gods throughout the river of time, they transform into the power of the source coiled within the souls of the gods. Once this power disappears or undergoes other changes, the gods will lose their existence and face their deaths.

However, the divine realms that appeared alongside the birth of the gods are not affected by the death of the gods.

In the realm of the Supreme God, the overall environment is completely different from other divine realms, giving people a sense of comfort. However, they have long lost the protection of the gods and the sacred aura has dissipated.

Green, Elson, and the God of Light have come together to a temple on the edge of the battle's impact.

After a while, the three stood in front of a massive book. The divine power opened the book. The pages of the book flipped rapidly as if it had a will of its own, simultaneously emitting a glow that projected unfamiliar words recognizable to Green.

The God of Light and Elson quickly deciphered the information within the text. Green silently observed from the sidelines.

No matter how the pages flipped, the thickness of the book remained unchanged, which appeared to be quite miraculous. The text illuminated by the flipping pages sparkled with golden light. The unfamiliar words, which Green couldn't recognize, seemed profound, considering the efforts put into deciphering them by the God of Light and Elson.

Time passed second by second.

Within this weighty "World Book," various events within this realm were recorded in detail. From the number of times the Supreme God ate to the recent invasion of the Source Envoys, it came to an abrupt halt at the position of the Supreme God's demise.

Of course, this hefty book contained more than just these minute details.

Among the two gods, the God of Light was the first to discover noteworthy information.

"At the beginning of the universe, the power of the origin gave birth to a massive explosion, leading to the birth of various creatures and sub-worlds. After a long period of stability, the power of the origin entered an unstable state once again, splitting into numerous fragments that flowed into the world - hence the formation of gods and various supernatural forces."

The God of Light organized the wording and succinctly conveyed the lengthy information recorded in the book.

Elson stopped in his tracks, and so did Green.

"The impending apocalypse is also related to the unstable state of the power of the origin. However, a part of the main body of the power of the origin has already been lost to the world, unable to erupt itself properly. In response to this, the power of the origin seeks to retrieve the energy lost in the world - the Source Envoys are the products entirely obedient to the will of the power of the origin in this environment."

Since the Supreme God is the most powerful deity and is also transformed by the largest fragment of the origin, resisting the main body of the power of the origin is nothing but a pipe dream. However, recording these facts is not a difficult task.

Elson and Green remained silent because the most important matter had not been clarified yet -

"... The only way to resolve the current situation is to voluntarily offer one's own power of the origin. This will allow the world's origin to return to a stable state."

The golden text subsequently dissipated, and the World Book was closed once again.

The information needed was already sufficient.

The reason is already clear. The primal power of the world, like that of a young girl, undergoes a regular period of instability, also known as the "menstrual cycle." During this time, the world undergoes drastic changes. These changes are not necessarily bad and can potentially have beneficial effects on the world. The first period of instability gave birth to the realms of gods and magic, but it also damaged the core of the primal power, indirectly leading to the abnormality in the next "menstrual cycle". This is what has given rise to the current situation.

"So, you're saying that as long as we return most of the world's primal power back to its core, it will stabilize and possibly bring about positive changes to the world?"

"Yes. The records also mention a method of actively giving up one's power. By willingly burning the primal power within oneself and waiting for it to be completely exhausted, it will detach from the holder and transform into pure primal power, returning to the core."

"But isn't that just nonsense? How can we make everyone aware of this method? Many people can't even control their magic, how can they possibly sense the existence of primal power which is even more elusive?"

Green furrowed his brows, displaying his distrust.

Not to mention such a large number of beings, even simple magic is beyond the control of many people. How can they possibly control the primal power, which is essentially a variant of magic? It is simply wishful thinking.

"No, it doesn't require everyone to give up their primal power."

When Green expressed his doubts, Elson beside him dispelled those doubts.

"The faint primal power of ordinary people doesn't cause much harm to the core of the world. Even if it cannot be recovered, it doesn't matter. Ideally, it would be enough if we gods were to give up our primal power. After that, the world would lose the presence of gods, and the entire divine realm would cease to exist. The gods will also become ordinary people."

"Becoming ordinary people is better than perishing, isn't it?"

The God of Light interjected. This was an obvious choice that didn't require any questioning. They didn't expect the records of the world book of the Supreme God to contain such profound knowledge.

Generally, gods would not bother to look through such contents. Moreover, this sudden anomaly caught them off guard, and it was only after having a sense of foreboding that the gods vaguely realized something.

The Supreme God and the other gods probably didn't have time to react before being reclaimed by the Source User.

In comparison, the God of Light and Elson were much luckier. The Elf King seemed even more unfortunate.

"Next, leave it to the two of us."

As the controllers of the subordinate worlds, the two gods could only utilize the "Primal Power of the Subordinate World" in their daily lives. In fact, it was also one of the variants of primal power, but much more advanced than magic. The purest form of primal power could not be wielded on a regular basis.

To be more precise, it couldn't be used for their own benefit.

It was not only the primal power of the world but also the fundamental energy that sustains the existence of the gods themselves.

However, now, with unwavering faith, the two of them miraculously awakened that golden energy. Golden radiance wrapped around Elson and the God of Light, exuding a warm and comfortable feeling—the primal power was gradually burning.

Elson was the God of the Human Realm, and the God of Light was the God of Paradise.

They were not particularly powerful among the gods, but they possessed the hearts that were closest to that of humans.

Their actions were not only for their own existence but also stemmed from their love for all living beings.

After the disappearance of their godly powers, the Ice Continent would completely melt, the light-element magic would be eradicated from elemental magic, and there would be various other small and large influences. However, overall, it would not cause significant changes to the world.

Green watched as the two people burned themselves. The dazzling golden light made him instinctively cover his eyes with his hand. Looking at the expressions of the two, there was a faint sense of heroism.

Being able to give up their divine status was a courageous act.

It was like a powerful opponent turning into a helpless weakling. This was a severe blow to their psyche, comparable to annihilation.

Green was unsure of what kind of life the two would have after this, but with such an attitude, they wouldn't live too poorly.

The golden light gradually flowed out from them, and then dissipated without a trace. The divine aura on the two also gradually weakened, until there was nothing left.

Green understood, and they understood too.

From this moment on, the two became ordinary beings.

The Source Messengers would no longer appear, and Aloof and the others would no longer be harmed. All living beings in the world could return to their peaceful lives—the crisis of the end of the world had been completely resolved.

The solution turned out to be unexpectedly simple.

Consciousness floated freely in the water named tranquility, giving the three a feeling of being in a dream.

However, before the three could reflect on this, something unexpected happened again.

The Bright God and Elsen had already sacrificed their power of the source, and other gods had also perished. According to reason, the divine realm should have lost all its occupants and should have self-destructed. But at this moment, the divine realm showed no abnormalities.

Not only that, something appeared in front of the three that would completely confuse them.

A body even more dazzlingly golden than before, stronger limbs, a height of over eight feet, and sharp black eyes emanating a fierce aura—

The "Golden Source User" once again appeared in front of the three.

"What's going on?"

Green asked the question that the two wanted to ask, in a state of confusion.

At this moment, the situation not only did not develop as expected, but instead intensified. A new golden source user appeared who looked even more powerful than the previous one.

"...How could...this be?"

"This...?"

The two were no longer gods, and at this moment, they had lost the ability to fight against the source user. However, it was obvious that this golden source user wasn't here for the two.

The only possibility was Green.

"In the end, I still thought too simply...right?"

Before Green's self-deprecating words could finish, as if realizing the key to the abnormal situation, his body suddenly stiffened, his pupils contracted rapidly, and a regretful expression filled his face.

The world's primordial power was in a special period, in need of the power of the source that was dispersing throughout the world. And looking at the golden source users' attention focused on him, Green remembered the most important thing that had been forgotten—not the Dragon God's power on Yuzuriha, but the holder who had accumulated a massive amount of source power that could surpass the gods countless times over.

That person was him, a human from another world.

His name was—
