Chapter 22: The Begging Demon
update icon Updated at 2025/7/24 8:10:12

"I have lived for so long, but this is the first time I've seen people flirting at the city gate, hahaha!"

Green turned his head and saw a few tall demon clan members standing not far away.

Their skin was dark, their voices rough, and they exuded a savage aura in their every move.

"What's the matter? What do you care about us?"

"Heh heh, why don't you care about us anymore? Don't you know that the area near the city gate is our turf?"

"If you want to pass through here, leave some toll money!"

After hearing this, Green hadn't reacted yet when Elsa next to him took the lead and walked up to them.

"How much?"

Seeing Elsa's cold face, the roadblockers instinctively took a step back and said:

"One... one demon coin."

After hearing this, Elsa was visibly stunned.

She didn't expect it to be just that little.

Immediately, Elsa looked at them with pitiful eyes.

Then Elsa took out a dark coin emitting black light from her pocket and threw it to them.

The leader hurriedly caught it, and then froze.

"Wait, this..."

"No need to look for change, go have a good meal."

After saying that, she grabbed Green's hand and walked towards the city.

The sound of the roadblockers crying could be heard from behind.

As Green walked, he recalled what just happened and curiously asked Elsa:

"Elsa, how much is one demon coin worth?"

"It's probably enough to buy a meal."

"What about the one you just gave them?"

"The currency of the Demon King's power, one coin is equivalent to one hundred ordinary demon coins."

"I see... In that case, those guys seemed quite pitiful."

In his heart, Green silently sympathized with those people who had just appeared. He thought they were looking for trouble, but it turned out they were begging for food.

Thinking about the poor people in the Demon Realm, Green's heart as a Demon King felt a profound sadness.

Reforming the Demon Realm must be done as soon as possible, and the living standards of the entire population must be improved step by step.

The first thing to do was to gather the opinions of the common people.

This city brought together members of various demon clans, and the disparity between the rich and the poor was also very serious. Green and Elsa conducted investigations in both the wealthy and the poor areas. Additionally, because Elsa was from the third generation demon clan, she was considered wealthy.

They provided some assistance to the really poor demons.

Overall, Green found that besides having a Demon King and individual strengths far superior to humans, life in the Demon Realm seemed to be difficult.

After all, although they were stronger than humans, their competitors were also demons.

At the same time, due to the harsh environment of the Demon Realm, many resources couldn't be developed well.

The most crucial thing was that they lived under a dark red hue every day, and even people with good moods would gradually be infected, becoming listless.

In short, there was really nothing enjoyable about the Demon Realm.

As for the investigation results, they far exceeded Green's expectations.

Among the demons they randomly chose, not a single one said they liked this kind of sky.

Then the answer is naturally obvious.

"The color tone of the demon realm must be changed."

After visiting and investigating other places, Green became more determined about this idea.

However, the problem arises that, although Green confidently says they want to transform the demon realm, they actually have no idea how to do it.

After evolving into a demon king, although their mind gained a lot of knowledge and emotions about the demon realm, they still remain ignorant about the sky and the composition of the demon realm.

Even after consulting with the experienced demon kings Saroth, Uth, Gothner, and Clitz, Green did not obtain much useful information.

In such a situation, Green couldn't help but feel a little frustrated.

"Elsa, do you have any good ideas?"

Green sat listlessly on a rock, looking at the dim sky of the demon realm, and asked casually.

Of course, Elsa didn't have any good ideas.

"Maybe we should just forget about it, Green. This idea is really impractical."

"..."

Upon hearing Elsa's advice, Green's heart remained completely unaffected.

They just lay on the rock, staring blankly at the dark red sky.

In addition to the dark red color, the demon realm's sky still had some other objects if one looked closely enough.

For example, occasionally twinkling stars.

But the light was too weak, and the quantity was extremely scarce, barely better than nothing.

If one observed carefully with a calm mind, it was passable.

However, compared to the night scenery of the human realm, there was simply no comparison.

The difference was like heaven and earth.

"By the way, Elsa, do you want to go back to the human realm with me? It's been a few days since we last saw them, and I want to go back and check on them... Do you want to go too?"

Instead of directly answering, Elsa asked:

"When you say 'them,' do you mean your wives...?"

"Yes, I mean my wives."

Green looked at Elsa and said without blushing or skipping a beat.

Even though Green had already told Elsa about this before, she still felt uncomfortable in her heart.

She thought she was the first to be with Green, and she had even helped Green so much. But it turned out that someone else had beaten her to it. Naturally, she felt a sense of dissatisfaction.

However, Elsa also wanted to see the human world.

Especially after having been to the human world and seeing the scenery there, Elsa disliked the appearance of the demon realm even more.

"Fine, I'll go with you... However, you have to let me meet them."

"No problem, but... I hope you can get along well with them when the time comes."

"Hmph!..."

Elsa snorted coldly, turned her head dissatisfied, but was then embraced by Green.

Caught in Green's rough embrace, Elsa tried to struggle but couldn't break free, so she could only let Green hold her petite body and allow Green to have their way with her.

"You're really hopeless..."

"Being a scum doesn't matter, as long as I have you."

"You... You're really the worst kind of scum!"

"Say whatever you want."

After being scolded by Elsa, Green not only didn't get angry but instead hugged her tighter, while also gently rubbing her cheek, the soft touch paired with the girl's fragrance was like a heavenly experience.

"Elsa, I noticed that you smell just as good as them," Green said.

"W-what are you saying...you hentai devil!!!" Elsa finally couldn't hold back and pushed herself out of Green's embrace, blushing with anger.

Despite her words, Elsa ended up obediently lying in Green's arms.

She felt a hint of joy in her heart. At least this meant that Green didn't want to abandon her.

"So...when are we leaving?" she asked.

"Right now."

After informing Saroth and the others, Green prepared to leave the Demon World with Elsa.

Unlike in the Demon World, the process of returning to the human realm was not as complicated. Since they were already familiar with the spatial coordinates between the two places, and now Green had the power to tear space, they simply tore open a rift and stepped into it while Green embraced Elsa.

The dark space was still as dangerous as before, full of chaotic currents. If Elsa were alone, she wouldn't last a second. But under the protection of Green's source energy, there was no harm that could be done.

Soon, Green found the coordinates and swiftly passed through.

Their vision briefly turned black before returning to brightness, and they found themselves in a snowy mountain.

The cold wind rushed towards them but was blocked by the white source energy emanating from their bodies.

As Elsa wondered why Green brought them to this place, he suddenly let go of her and said, "Speaking of which, there's something I want to handle before we return."

"Hmm? What is it?"

"It's about the anomaly I detected here before..."

Green didn't finish his sentence. He closed his eyes, released his senses, and reached deep into the ground. The entire continent appeared in his vision.

Lizard demons and other Monster races were peacefully coexisting; there didn't seem to be any contradictions.

But that wasn't what Green was concerned about. As he delved deeper with his senses, he finally detected an area beneath the ice surface that wasn't frozen.

Green vaguely remembered that when he first stepped on the ice surrounding the continent, he sensed something.

Although it was only for a moment, Green didn't forget this. With his perception, he shouldn't have been hallucinating. So when he thought about returning, he remembered this incident and wanted to investigate.

However, after feeling around beneath the ice for a while, Green didn't find anything abnormal. Besides the extreme level of freezing, there were only some deep-sea fish swimming.

"It's strange...I clearly remember feeling something before," Green muttered, opening his eyes and looking at the snowy ground beneath his feet. He sighed and stood up.

Elsa was curious when she saw Green's disappointed expression.

"What's wrong?"

"It's nothing. I just felt like there was something under here before, but I couldn't find anything when I searched just now. Is it really just my imagination...?"

Green furrowed her brows, puzzled.

Of course, Elsa had no idea what Green was talking about, so she casually asked a question and didn't say anything more.

After a moment, Green shook her head.

"Never mind, it's probably just my imagination. If there really is something here, we'll deal with it later. Let's just leave this creepy place for now. It's freezing here."

Of course, Green was just complaining.

Even though it was cold here, it wasn't even close to absolute zero, not even Elsa was afraid.

But compared to ordinary people, it was indeed excessively cold.

Green couldn't understand how such a bizarre place could exist, but she couldn't figure it out at the moment, so she could only temporarily suppress her curiosity.

"Let's go."

"Okay."

Elsa nodded, but before she could react, she found herself being embraced by Green in her arms. Then everything went blurry, and the scenery in front of her quickly flashed by.
