Chapter 25 Unchangeable Rule
update icon Updated at 2025/6/15 19:10:12

The light emitted from the energy engulfed the two of them. Kilger could no longer control his suppressed excitement that had been building up in his heart for a long time. It erupted like a towering wave, filling his entire chest.

"The power of time! Please listen to my wish and send me back to the time when she was still alive!"

Kilger shouted loudly in the light. With his shout, a series of rapidly changing images appeared in front of him. After a few seconds, the images finally settled on the young girl.

The girl in the image had a beautiful appearance, especially when she smiled, it gave off a gentle feeling.

After so many years, seeing this image again made Kilger so excited that he forgot how to speak. He reached out his trembling hand, trying to touch the girl in the image once again.

However, just as his palm was about to touch the girl in the image, everything around him shattered like a broken mirror, with countless cracks appearing, until it finally shattered with a crisp sound.

When Kilger came back to his senses, he found that the light in front of him had completely disappeared, and the device he had spent his whole life building was damaged. One could still see the unpleasant smell of black smoke coming from it.

"It seems that I was right. The rules of the world will not allow such a thing to happen."

Green's voice entered his ears, but he didn't react at all. His outstretched hand remained suspended in midair, with his fingers trembling slightly.

"Thump-"

Kilger's head spun, and then his eyes rolled back as he fell to the ground unconscious.

Upon seeing this scene, Green let out a deep sigh. Then he walked slowly to Kilger's side, silently staring at the damaged device, and then his gaze lingered on Kilger for a few seconds with a look of regret.

Then Green lifted Kilger, who was unconscious on the ground, onto his shoulder and walked back towards the way they came.

Tia and the others above had already noticed the commotion underground. They were anxious, but didn't dare to act rashly. Now, seeing Green slowly emerging from the secret passage with someone over his shoulder, their restless hearts finally calmed down a bit.

Soon, a soldier recognized Kilger on Green's shoulder.

"Your Majesty Green, have you defeated the 'Witch'?"

"No."

Green's answer puzzled the soldier, but since Green didn't continue to explain, he stepped aside and remained silent.

Green then glanced around and said to everyone, "Let's go out first. This place is too small."

"Ah... understood!"

Led by Green, everyone quickly returned to the surface.

Green found a large rock and leaned Kilger against it. Then he beckoned to Elsa, who had been wanting to say something, and said, "You take care of him. I'm going to rest for a while."

"Okay, thank you..."

For some reason, Elsa felt that Green was not in a good state, so she didn't dare to say much. After Green walked away a distance, she used a simple water magic to wake Kilger up.

Green found a random rock to lie on and silently pondered about the scene just now.

Just a step away, Kilger could have gone back to the past. However, at that moment, Green sensed an aggressive energy fluctuation that forcefully shattered the possibility of Kilger going back in time.

That power was definitely not the power of a god.

If Green's guess was correct, it was the power of the world rules that he had mentioned in parallel worlds.

In fact, Green had felt that sensation when he first arrived in this world. The space that was forcefully broken protested against him, but it had no effect in front of the powerful force that did not belong to this world.

Also, when he first used the Time Stone and later broke through the space to return to the superpower world, Green had experienced that sensation.

Because of his numerous time travels, Green noticed some differences in the details.

When he came from the original world to this world, he didn't feel any resistance from the power of the world rules. It was only after arriving in this world that he could feel the force of resistance. But when he wanted to go from this world to another, the world's power would immediately resist.Aloof was able to reach the world of superpowers thanks to Green's intentional or unintentional protection; otherwise, it would have been impossible to easily cross over space. This made Green realize that the rules between different worlds are different, and likewise, the power of those rules is also different.

In the parallel world, Green would be killed by the power of the parallel world's rules, but what if they were to reach another world? At least in the world Green is currently in, they have not felt any unbeatable power, especially after the conversation with the death goddess loli. Green had always kept it in mind. Based on the comprehensive intelligence, as long as they continue to stay in this world with weak rule power, it seems they can survive.

This is undoubtedly good news, because Green doesn't want to suddenly disappear one day. However, there is one more thing... Green searched in their personal space and took out a slab, which is the Adventurer's Guild identification stone. Green vaguely remembers that this stone holds a power similar to the attribute panel that was once inside them.

According to the parallel world's own explanation, superpowers are born from the liberation of the power of the world's source. So, does the attribute panel obtained after the test in this world also result from the power of this world's source? If that's the case, then the leveling stone in the Adventurer's Guild should contain the power of this world's source.

If that's true... "Hey, Green, when are you planning to retreat? 'The Witch' has already given up resistance and has been captured by the soldiers. If there's nothing else, we should probably go back. After all, there's no reason to stay here," Tia asked.

"Then let's go back immediately." Green put away the slab in their hands, landed from the rock, and walked towards the soldiers with Tia.

At this point, Elsa had already returned to her normal state. Her white hair had regained its vibrant golden color, giving her a much more energetic look than before.

As for how Elsa had been restored by Kilg, it wasn't a difficult problem. After the device was damaged, the power of time leaked out, and Kilg only needed to control it a bit in order to easily restore Elsa's time, and possibly even enhance it.

The reason Elsa was still staying here and not leaving was simply because her books had been destroyed. She didn't want to face her Demon Lord grandfather alone when she returned, so she needed Green to accompany her and explain.

However, when Green heard Elsa's request, they simply replied, "Do you think that's possible?"

But Elsa didn't give up. She was very well aware of her grandfather's temperament. The Demon Lord had never known how to cherish precious things, and he wouldn't show any mercy even to his own granddaughter.

Especially since Saloius was always dissatisfied with Elsa's strength. With this mission's failure, Elsa would probably have to spend many, many days in the detention cell when she returned. It was even more terrifying than being killed.

But even after hearing Elsa's complaints, Green just said, "Then become stronger than the Demon Lord and beat him up, wouldn't that solve the problem?"

In the end, Elsa reluctantly insisted on following Green. Helplessly, Green let Elsa join their group, which made Tia quite unhappy.

Afterwards, Green met Kilg again. He had become a fish without dreams, his face dull and lifeless, emitting a heavy aura of death. It seemed that he had been greatly impacted by being unable to return to the past.

The girl that appeared in the previous scene was actually his lover from a long time ago, but she had passed away due to a natural disaster. For all these years, he had devoted himself to studying time, hoping to go back and change the past. Unfortunately, he couldn't achieve it due to the interference of the world's rule power.

Green wouldn't help him with that. At most, they would comfort him a few words and advise him to move on from the shadows of the past. At least in Green's eyes, he wasn't a completely bad person; he just happened to go against the will of the world.

After traveling at full speed, the group returned to Farcist in about half a day.Kilg was finally taken away by the soldiers of the Caesar Empire, and Green did not stop him. If Kilg were to remain defeated like this, there would be no difference between life and death. And if he wanted to continue living, with his strength, the people of the Caesar Empire might not be able to control him.

However, after dealing with Kilg's matter, a more troublesome situation arose for Green.

In Green's exclusive room inside the castle. Although Green had rarely been here, he came today after a long time.

The reason was none other than the fact that Elisa insisted on following him, and Tia also didn't want to leave. Otherwise, he wouldn't have hidden in this place.

Now Aloof and the others were chasing after him, demanding a suitable answer from Green, especially Elisa.

It's worth noting that Elisa was once his enemy, and Tia, as the princess of the empire, when Green went to the Caesar Empire, he had clearly promised not to mess with girls, but what was the result?

It's so tiring to explain, or rather, there's nothing to explain.

Maybe when Aloof and the others' jealousy disappears, there won't be any problems.

"Click-"

Suddenly, the sound of the door being pushed open came, and Green's heart tightened. But after seeing who it was, he immediately relaxed a lot.

I saw a silver-haired girl pushing open the door cautiously, half of her head peeking in, as if looking for Green's figure. And when she saw Green, an obvious excitement appeared on her face.

"Green!"

"So it's Mio, what's up? Do you have something to tell me?"

"No, there's nothing... it's just, um... Are you free these days?"

Looking at Mio's nervous expression, Green smiled lightly, then stood up from the chair and walked in front of Mio. His hands unconsciously rested on Mio's soft silver hair.

"Of course!"
