"So it's really possible?" (Chongzi)

Chongzi, who originally thought the other party would reject her, was excited to see the change of heart with widened eyes.

In her mind, she thought this middle-aged man was too kind, probably because she was a student, so he gave her a special opportunity.

This made her involuntarily raise her voice with excitement even when speaking.

"Yes, otherwise everyone would be overworked and too tired." (Middle-aged man)

"You can serve dishes and wash dishes, right?" (Middle-aged man)

As the middle-aged man spoke, he continued to scrutinize Chongzi up and down, seeming to have some thoughts.

"Yeah, I can do all of that! I usually help out at home." (Chongzi)

But Chongzi didn't realize this and instead, because she got the job opportunity, she couldn't help but raise her voice in excitement.

"Alright, then come with me." (Middle-aged man)

At this point, the middle-aged man readily agreed.

"Okay~" (Chongzi)

So, following the middle-aged man, Chongzi passed through a narrow wooden-floor corridor and arrived at a cramped office filled with files. This should be the office this Japanese restaurant used for handling finances and other matters, with the smell of paper in the air.

"Have a seat." (Middle-aged man)

After they sat down, the middle-aged man smoothly took out a scheduling sheet from the many files and placed it on the table.

"Girl, when can you start working? Besides weekends, can you come on evenings when you don't have classes?" (Middle-aged man)

As the middle-aged man asked, he wrote Sugo Chongzi on the staff scheduling list.

"I can start today, can't do the days I have classes, but I can come on weekends." (Chongzi)

"Oh? You can start today, hahaha, no need to rush." (Middle-aged man)

Hearing Chongzi's words, the middle-aged man was a little surprised, looking up at Chongzi.

"No no, in order to get up to speed as soon as possible and not cause trouble for everyone, I hope to learn with everyone today. It's okay if I don't get paid today, just consider it as an observation and learning experience." (Chongzi)

Unexpectedly, Chongzi said so, the middle-aged man couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Having run a Japanese restaurant for so many years and employed so many workers, it was the first time he had seen such a proactive attitude.

"Hahahaha, alright! I'll let you learn here today." (Middle-aged man)

As he spoke, the middle-aged man wrote Chongzi's name on today's schedule.

"But I won't let you work for free. According to our rules here, for the first month, I'll pay you 900 yen per hour, and after a month, we'll see about a pay raise based on your performance." (Middle-aged man)

"Okay, thank you, sir!" (Chongzi)

"Don't call me sir, oh, I forgot to mention, I'm the store manager Sato." (Manager Sato)

"Thank you, Manager Sato!" (Chongzi)

"Enough with thanks. Now come with me, you'll start as a waitress." (Manager Sato)

Under Manager Sato's guidance, Chongzi arrived at the warehouse, where there were many cardboard boxes, refrigerators storing ingredients, and cabinets with utensils.

When they walked into the warehouse, a middle-aged woman in a kimono was checking the inventory with a form in her hand, exuding remarkable elegance in every gesture.

"Inoue, you are here." (Manager Sato)

"I've brought a new recruit for you, um... Uesugi! Yes, Uesugi, the little sister." (Manager Sato)

Upon hearing Manager Sato's voice, the woman named Inoue turned around, but did not speak, simply gazing quietly at Takako.

"Hello, I am Uesugi Takako... Nice to meet you~" (Takako)

Takako promptly introduced herself.

"Hello, hello, this is quite rare, it's been a long time since we had a new recruit at our store. I've been swamped, your arrival is a huge help!" (Senior Inoue)

Despite her kimono attire, Senior Inoue's manner of speaking was completely different from her appearance, very hearty.

It seemed she was a very easy-going senior to get along with.

By now, Takako had completely forgotten why she had come there in the first place (laughs).
