Bai Yaxin momentarily thought he had misheard. The ManranyamaSouren, who just refused to even give himself a glass of water, was now showing interest in collaborating with him. This truly surprised Bai Yaxin.

ManranyamaSouren was a formidable young woman, capable of prioritizing her interests even in such circumstances. Bai Yaxin found himself somewhat admiring her and believed she had a bright future.

"My proposal is for you and me to work together to take down ManranyamaUminari." (Bai Yaxin)

As Bai Yaxin uttered these words, the air seemed to freeze. He was indeed serious and earnest in what he said. However, ManranyamaSouren was stifling a laugh.

ManranyamaSouren's originally snow-white face now turned bright red from trying to hold back her laughter. Even Van, who always had a poker face, was trembling slightly from stifling his amusement.

Bai Yaxin was at a loss. He thought he was discussing a serious matter. Why did it seem like he said something hilarious?

Before Bai Yaxin could figure out what was happening, ManranyamaSouren couldn't contain herself and burst into laughter, followed by a suppressed chuckle from Van.

What was going on exactly?

Bai Yaxin was puzzled. He had never felt this embarrassed in his life and could only sit there, feeling awkward, watching ManranyamaSouren and Van shake with laughter.

It wasn't until three to five minutes later that ManranyamaSouren and Van finally stopped laughing.

"I'm truly sorry, Mr. Bai, for losing control like that." (ManranyamaSouren)

Even as ManranyamaSouren apologized, a hint of amusement lingered in her expression.

Although Bai Yaxin was filled with anger, he restrained himself and remained silent. He wanted to see how ManranyamaSouren would explain what just happened.

"Before explaining my earlier rudeness, may I ask, Mr. Bai, if you have read 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms'?" (ManranyamaSouren)

Bai Yaxin had no idea what ManranyamaSouren was getting at and wasn't eager to answer this inexplicable question. But it seemed like if he didn't respond, ManranyamaSouren wouldn't continue.

"I have." (Bai Yaxin)

Bai Yaxin replied somewhat angrily, "Okay." (ManranyamaSouren)

"If I am just a nobody, then Mr. Bai is like the renowned general Hua Xiong." (ManranyamaSouren)

"And my father, ManranyamaUminari, is like the powerful warlord Cao Cao." (ManranyamaSouren)

"The reason why your words seem funny to me, Mr. Bai, is because when you speak to me like this, it feels as absurd as Hua Xiong picking up a random soldier on the roadside and saying, 'Hey, let's go kill Cao Cao!'" (ManranyamaSouren)

At this point, Bai Yaxin finally understood what ManranyamaSouren and Van were laughing at.

- After all, children are just children.

Bai Yaxin felt that he had overestimated ManranyamaSouren earlier.

ManranyamaSouren was not a nobody, and the gap between him, Bai Yaxin, and ManranyamaUminari, was no less than that between Hua Xiong and Cao Cao.

Moreover, a nobody to Cao Cao was just a nobody, whereas ManranyamaSouren to ManranyamaUminari was at least a blood relation.

- Oh well, let's find another way to make use of her.

"Pardon me." (Bai Yaxin)

Bai Yaxin shook his head, stood up, turned around, and left without saying another word.

ManranyamaSouren had no intention of seeing him off, but sat on the sofa watching Bai Yaxin leave.

In her ordinary expression, there was a barely noticeable smile.

ManranyamaSouren had done it intentionally, and her goal had been achieved.
