Lin Yi left the laboratory and handed over the project to the client. It was a milestone event for the Yan project, symbolizing the transition from the experimental stage to the commercial stage. He was extremely grateful to Chong MingDe for these achievements.

Being able to replicate and transfer personality and memories between individuals as if they were data, and to train individuals to function as data storage devices for abstract concepts such as personality and memories, were all ideas originally conceived by Yan. Thanks to Chong MingDe, these ideas were validated and turned into reality.

It could be said that Chong MingDe was like the mother figure of this project. The subsequent BETA versions, including Lin Yicong, were all trained through analyzing Chong MingDe's data.

However, instead of being recognized as the hero, Chong MingDe was now imprisoned in a small room, treated like an animal or a lab rat, subjected to daily data extraction and various tests to validate different theories. This was all because he opposed and questioned the project.

But Yan didn't despise him for it. Yan always appreciated Chong MingDe. However, he couldn't help but feel regret for him. They just had different paths and couldn't work together.

"If only..." Yan sighed softly outside the small room where Chong MingDe was confined.

"How is he today?" Yan asked the researchers stationed outside the small room. They observed Chong MingDe's data every day and conducted various experiments on him to provide reference for training and nurturing individuals with abilities similar to Chong MingDe.

"It's still not looking good," the researchers replied, feeling disheartened. "No matter what drugs or hormones we administer, his mental and physiological states remain low. All indicators have been continuously declining for a week, and if this continues, he may enter a comatose state."

Yan listened to the researchers' report while examining the data on the monitor, his brow furrowing. This situation had been going on for several days. Yan never expected that, even with various nutrient injections, he couldn't keep a healthy and normal person alive.

But Chong MingDe had changed his perception. A physically healthy person with all indicators normal, yet he remained in a perpetual state of unconsciousness. No physical or drug stimulus could awaken him. All eating and excretion had to be done through medical methods to sustain his life. But it was all in vain.

Chong MingDe was effectively committing suicide in this manner.

In a situation where he couldn't even move a finger, he still managed to find a way to escape from Yan and end his own life.

"Keep thinking of other ways," Yan sighed and instructed the researchers in a low voice.

But there was no hope in his tone anymore.

He couldn't even do it himself, so he believed his researchers could be smarter than him.

"At the same time, prepare for the dissection and analysis of his body in case of MingDe's death. It is our most valuable sample data, understood?"

"Okay, understood."

Yan felt that despite this unpleasant incident, the entire project was still consistent with his expectations and a successful one.

But ironically, right after he concluded this in his mind, the instrument displayed an alert that Chong MingDe's heartbeat had stopped.

- Even if your plan goes as planned, you can't control my life and restrict my freedom, Chong MingDe seemed to say to him.
