Chapter 7: Presentation and Essence 7

After coming out of the empty and monotonous room, Zong Mingde found himself in a long and narrow corridor that seemed to stretch endlessly. The decor of the corridor matched that of the room, with pure white tiled floors, pure white walls, pure white ceilings, and white LED energy-saving lights embedded in the ceiling, all dazzlingly white and extremely uncomfortable.

This visual effect was not Yan's style, and since this was not his territory, it was naturally the perverse taste of the controller of this building.

As for the true nature of the building he was currently in, it was not hard to tell from the doctor in the room earlier that this was likely a neuroscientific research institution of some kind.

As Zong Mingde pondered these thoughts, he walked along the seemingly endless corridor, knowing that there was only one exit from the room he had just left, and that this corridor connected to only one destination.

Since the script had already been written by someone else, all he had to do was follow it, because Zong Mingde knew he had no choice at the moment.

However, that was only for now.

After about fifteen minutes, Zong Mingde finally reached the other end of the corridor.

The other end of the corridor led to a vast room that was so spacious it made one lose oneself. This room was decorated with numerous mirrors and glass, neatly arranged with a multitude of instruments, monitors, and circuits... the most eye-catching of which was a row of huge egg-shaped containers with white porcelain bases, curved transparent glass covers, and a comfortable shape and soft material inside that seemed to perfectly fit the human body.

Although the huge egg-shaped containers didn't appear to have a very complex structure from the outside, it was clear that all the other instruments in this room were in service to these containers.

These were the containers that Zong Mingde was about to enter.

These were perhaps the most precise, complex, and expensive containers in this room.

Without a doubt, these containers were the main characters among the devices in this room today.

Instead of touching any of the instruments scattered throughout the room, Zong Mingde pulled up a nearby chair and sat down.

He thought he would have to wait for a long time.

But before a minute had passed, someone else entered the room.

However, it wasn't through the same entrance Zong Mingde had come in through.

In other words, besides the apparent entrance that Yui had used, there were other hidden entrances and exits.

What kind of purpose would a reputable scientific research institution have to engage in such secretive tricks?

Or, was it only after collaborating with the old man that they made these modifications?

While Zong Mingde was contemplating these random thoughts, the newcomer had already walked up to him.

Without needing to turn his gaze or look, just by the familiar sound of footsteps, Zong Mingde knew who had come.

"Long time no see, Mingde."

Along with the voice came an oppressive force that made one's hair stand on end.

The person speaking was an elderly man who appeared to be in his seventies or eighties.

He was not tall, standing at about 1.7 meters, but because of his straight posture and slender figure, he didn't look small.

The appearance is very ordinary, hard to find in a crowd, with hair mixed with black, white, and gray, looking quite aged.

Just like a crow that is aging but still has sharp eyes that shimmer.

This is Yan.
