Breaking the Sky · Crosscut!"

Facing several shadowy monsters rushing towards me, I swiftly maneuvered, countless crosscut shadows flickering among the shadows. The shadows that were struck emitted low groans, black mist rising from their bodies and drifting into the air.

Their bodies reverted to their original forms. Initially just ordinary animals, then progressing to low-level shadowy creatures like Storm Wolves, now some big shots had joined in.

For instance, the Ice Flame Earth Dragon that Taishi Xi was currently dealing with. Despite being just an Earth Dragon, being infused with shadows enhanced its strength by who knows how many times.

Unfortunately for them, they met us.

It would be unfortunate to encounter regular Lost Continent residents, but running into us? That's truly bad luck.

I'm not just boasting. Even though we don't feel like the strongest on the continent, after traveling outside and leveling up so much, slicing through these monsters feels like cutting vegetables.

Take Taishi Xi for example, he didn't even unleash his Valkyrie transformation skills. With just a "Barbarian God Strengthening," he charged and sent the Earth Dragon flying, then a "Azure Dragon Flash" pierced the immobilized Earth Dragon in mid-air, turning it into a honeycomb.

By the time the Earth Dragon hit the ground, it was beyond dead. Even though the shadow-enhanced creatures' strength was boosted, seeing a level 90 Taishi Xi effortlessly kill a level 50 Earth Dragon demonstrates that even with the shadow's enhancement, we are still much stronger than these shadowy creatures.

"It's done!"

At this moment, Hei Luoli jumped down from a tree.

"I've taken care of all the shadows lurking in the bushes around us. We can continue."

Just as Hei Luoli mentioned, before her words faded, the battle results appeared.

Battle Ended

Experience Gained: 10,000

However, the amount of experience gained returned to its previous state, maxing out at 10,000, which was a bit regrettable.

"Let's go, we need to quicken our pace," I said, looking at the bodies scattered around.

"We've encountered all sorts of shadowy creatures on our way here, it's almost like a zombie outbreak. Plus, the few villages we passed through earlier were deserted, not a soul in sight. I wonder if they were wiped out or fled."

"I think fleeing is more likely," Taishi Xi said.

"After all, we already sent Fir's students back to report. Humans should have made some preparations."

"Even so, the people here are relatively weak. Most likely unable to hold out, right?" Hei Luoli expressed concern.

"While we do have some strong individuals near the country, I'm not entirely clear about them," I said.

"Not clear?"

"They tend to go into seclusion for decades now and then, who knows," Hei Luoli shrugged.

"But there are indeed legends of very powerful individuals, just few and far between."

"Becoming powerful in such an environment is no easy feat," I chuckled.

"So it's been quite a while. If I remember correctly, my father once mentioned that when he was young, a powerful individual went into seclusion for training and never came out... Not that I've seen him since I was born, so who knows if he's still alive."

"Such people exist, huh..." I sighed.

"It feels like something out of a middle school fantasy novel. But the people on the Lost Continent have only been around for about ten thousand years, how did these individuals cultivate?"

Could it be that some cultivators arrived on the Lost Continent ten thousand years ago?

"Anyway, instead of discussing this, let's hurry to the capital of the country," Hei Luoli suggested.

"It's pointless debating the existence of someone we don't even know is still around."

"You're right. Little Black, lead the way."

"Princess leading the way, are you serious?"

"Why not," I shrugged.

"We're off to save the country, typically in stories, the princess leads, right?"

"Which fairy tales are you reading...?" Hei Luoli twitched.

"A self-created fairy tale."

"Get lost!"

At the walls of the capital of the country, the national teacher Li Dang and a red-robed old man stood atop the wall, gazing down at the sea of shadowy creatures below.

"Reporting to the national teacher and Senior Li, the shadows below today remain completely still, neither attacking nor retreating," a warrior in armor approached.

"Completely still... What are these folks up to?" the man in red robes remarked.

"But this can't continue. Despite all the country's people gathering in the capital for protection, under this siege, the city will soon run out of food," Li Dang concurred.

"Indeed," the national teacher nodded.

"But we're helpless now. If not for your enchantment, those shadowy creatures would have wiped out the city's residents long ago," the man in red robes said.

"This is the nation I built! I must protect it!" the man declared.

"Sigh, but never did I imagine that now not one of my descendants is left, truly..."

Just then, the old man caught sight of a sudden flash of red light in the distant plains.

"What's that...?" he muttered.

Turning his gaze, the red light shot towards the sky, transforming into a massive red dragon, spewing a thousand red arrows that rained down from the sky!

Boom!

A vast area of shadows was obliterated, others knocked into the air!

"Ah!" Hei Luoli in the distance looked disgruntled.

"They couldn't just wipe out all the monsters in one go! It also drained so much of my energy, ridiculous."

"Well..." Taishi Xi interjected.

"At least your city's safe, right?"

With that, she slowly levitated.

"It's time for a showdown!"
