"Time Jump!"
Just as the two ice totems were about to flatten them, a ring of red enchantment rapidly expanded from the time mage, covering him entirely!
That was fast!
Seeing that the enchantment was about to envelop me, I immediately abandoned the remaining mana, flashed backwards to escape the expanding red enchantment. However, their enchantment suddenly wrapped up the entire battlefield where we had just been, looking extremely eerie.
Hey, what kind of enchantment is this? It looks all red and jelly-like, can't see anything from the outside.
"What's this now? Didn't that guy say he couldn't use time magic anymore without energy? Is this some kind of finishing move or something?"
I looked at the enchantment and chuckled.
"Ah, so he just pops some big one for survival when he's about to die, or something else like that, right? This is troublesome, clearly there's no EXP cap absorption in this place, taking him out would yield a decent amount of experience, and it's actually a good deed for the people."
While I really wanted to rush in and see what tricks they were up to, it's probably not a good idea to recklessly charge in at this moment, is it?
Even if I go berserk now, if they insanely accelerate my berserk state, it would immediately wear off, and I'm not sure if this body has any potential for growth. If I suddenly turn into an old man, that would be troublesome.
But what was bothering me suddenly vanished, replaced by something even more bizarre.
"Wow... Time magic is truly convenient."
The scene in front of me changed again, the battlefield suddenly reverting to the moment I had defeated the dragon turtle, and the dragon turtle's body lying back inside the ice blocks.
What in the world is going on? Reviving and killing it again, what is this nonsense? This is such a waste, wouldn't it be better to kill the revived one again for more experience? What a waste.
Oh, I suddenly get it now.
Looking at the dragon turtle's body, I nodded.
"That guy just said he used time energy to revive the dragon turtle, right? Probably absorbed the energy used for the revival and launched a spell. That dragon turtle is truly pitiful, it's like it's been completely turned into an energy vessel for him."
But as I looked around, I furrowed my brow.
"But this guy is running way too fast, what's the deal, suddenly dropping these planes...oh wait, he's taking away the time of the whole island for his so-called energy."
It seems the measuring methods of time magic are different from other magic, needing to absorb other time to use time magic and such.
It feels somewhat like an exchange of equals.
Well, it's still a win...It's just...
I looked at the frozen sea around the island, the dragon turtle's body...sigh, quite a hassle, cleaning up the battlefield and all that.
But well...
I looked at the dragon turtle's body and smiled.
"It's not a complete loss, awakened a new skill and all. But...why is it bound to Ghost Breaker?"
I took out Ghost Breaker and examined it.
Had this thing appeared ghostly before? Could it be sealing something? I had no idea before, it just seemed like something with extra attack power, do I need to get stronger to unleash its true potential? This was a weapon used by a level 150 demon god before.
Oh well, forget about it.
Stowing away the weapon, I began to tidy up the things on the battlefield.
First, the body of the dragon turtle, I collected every bit of it, although it seemed like it might not be of any use, but it's still part of a dragon's body, after all.
There didn't seem to be much else left...At least I melted the ice blocks, sent the ship back onto the sea surface, then tidied up the surrounding area.
The time mage had completely vanished, who knows where he went...
Damn, why do I keep running into these troublesome guys, even though I welcome the experience they offer, it's still a pain dealing with them.
How can we get back to the Lost Continent?
Whatever, let's go see Aliyah and the others first.
With that in mind, I flew straight to the location where I had previously pushed the boat to the shore, and as I got closer, I saw Aliyah and the rest stepping out of the nearby house.
You guys have nerves of steel, hiding in the house, if the shockwaves from our attacks had hit you, you'd be doomed.
"Hey hey hey, your formation just now was quite something."
Aliyah stared at me and chuckled.
"You guys were also quite daring to stay in there, everyone okay? Sorry, but since I couldn't think of any other way, I had to push you to the shore."
"That's not true, if it weren't for you, Fir, we'd all be done for."
Uncle Monty smiled.
"So, what about that monster? Is it dead?"
"Well, even though it seems that way, the mastermind behind it escaped, a time mage, that dragon turtle seems to be his pet or something."
I replied wryly.
"Ugh, this world really has all types of troublesome folks, adding trouble to others like this..."
"I think, someone who incites war among city residents has no right to say that."
Aliyah quipped beside me.
Well, can't blame me for that, can you?
"Come on, my actions were rather unexpected, right? Did not intend for it to go that way~"
"But the result is the same."
"Alright, let's not dwell on that, what's next? We're lacking resources now, and the ship seems..."
I looked at the ship by the shore, it was already in a state of disrepair, looking like it was about to fall apart.
Well, a ship made of wood like this couldn't withstand that kind of shock, it's a miracle it retained its shape after being thumped around on the ice surface.
"Damage to this extent...it's impossible to sail back to the Lost Continent, now we can only head back to a harbor and find another ship."
"Really...such a hassle..."
I glanced at the ship.
"How about we try a different method, gather some clothes from this village, and use them to barter for a new ship."
"Huh? Why do we need to collect clothes?"
Curious, Aliyah asked.
"Because it's cold, and also, don't transform, or else the ship will be ruined."
Saying that, I looked at the ship by the shore.
"Plasticity Magic · Reshape · Armor Embed."
A blue light flashed, and a layer of blue ice shell enveloped the entire ship, mending the damaged parts with ice blocks.
"There, let's go."
The ice totems straightened the ship and pushed it back onto the sea surface.
"If we keep propelling it using the ice totems...we should reach quickly, right?"
Seeing everyone's surprised expressions, I helplessly shrugged.
"Or do you want to start immediately?"
