Chapter 67 Dragon?

"Oyado, Aliyah, can you figure out a way to rescue the people on the ship? I'll try to push their boat towards the shore as much as I can, and then you can figure out the rest?"

"Understood, take care of yourself."

"Leave it to us, big brother."

Ending the call, I reached out towards the sea.

"ultimate·Frozen for a Thousand Miles!"

A beam of blue light fell onto the sea, and following that, an entire stretch of the sea froze around that spot, including the creature that looked like a mix between a dragon and a turtle.

However, it seemed that creature wasn't buying it, as it struggled for a few seconds, then managed to jump out from under the ice blocks and landed on the ice directly.

Darn it, what kind of creature is this? The name is written too small, I can't see it at all.

The creature's name and title were just a tiny red line on its head, barely visible from this distance.

But it didn't matter now since the priority was to save the people!

"Ice Totems!"

Four ice totems directly lifted Uncle Monty's boat off the ice blocks and then used the totems to push them towards the shore.

I admit it was a reckless move, but it was the only option I had. I didn't know of any other way to quickly move the boat to the shore.

Maybe if I really knew spatial magic, I could have done something, but unfortunately, I did not.

I'll leave the rest of the rescue operation to Aliyah and the others. For now, I have to deal with this... thing. Well, I don't know how to classify it. Except for the head, the rest of it looks like it doesn't fit into any category.

At least, I don't know how to classify it.

A turtle? You at least have a shell.

An octopus monster? Well, it does look like one, but your tentacle count is a bit low, isn't it?

Do octopuses even have legs?

I don't know.

But what I do know is that this creature's power is definitely several times greater than mine. Let's not even talk about its size; the fact that it could jump straight out of the 'Frozen for a Thousand Miles' was already quite terrifying.

The monsters on the Lost Continent could at least be frozen for a while, but this one was able to break free in just a few seconds.

"It seems like I can't be a good mage anymore."

With that said, I pulled out Blood Moon.

"Unleash, Blood Fury!"

After many uses, I had a somewhat better understanding of the negative effects of Blood Moon. Although activating Blood Fury made me feel like I was drunk, with reduced control and ability to assess situations, it basically rendered my mind unable to think clearly.

But the effects it produced were quite good – increased attack power, speed, perfect for a reckless fighter. Just activate the skill and go all out.

But I still prefer being a mage, staying behind and dishing out damage.

Since we don't have a warrior upfront, I had to cover all the occupations now.

But using a katana felt too weak. It would be fine against smaller monsters, but for this creature, I needed a heavy weapon to slash away!

With that thought, I maintained the Blood Fury state and put away Blood Moon, then pulled out Ghost Breaker.

"At least... this size is acceptable?"

Saying so, I accelerated towards the strange creature that was trying to stand up on the ice.

Of course, the previous consumption had been quite dreadful, so I also drank a bottle of magic replenishing potion to speed up recovery.

"Great ultimate·Judgment·Tearing Cross!"

Since I was holding a weapon, the red light that should have formed a cross sword in my hand attached directly onto Ghost Breaker.

Then, I added an acceleration to myself, rushed to the top of the creature, and then slashed down!

The red light attached to Ghost Breaker flew out in the direction of my slash, turning into a ghostly figure in mid-air, and then lunged towards the strange creature.

The red ghostly figure collided with one of the creature's tentacles, a flash of red light! The tentacle emitted an eerie red light, then it directly snapped in the middle and was absorbed by the red ghostly figure.

What was this? Did I develop some strange new skill again?

After absorbing the tentacle, the red ghostly figure also slowly extended red tentacles and attached them to the creature's shell, transforming its body into a ghostly face, with eyes staring directly at me.

"Uh..."

Under that gaze, my head suddenly started to ache. When I recovered, I noticed something even more terrifying.

"What... did I just see?"

Yes, after I regained my senses, another image appeared in my mind, aside from the visual things that I could see – it seemed to be the face I saw just now.

Skill Awakening

Great ultimate·Sacrilege·Gate of the Demon

By infusing energy through a slash, it can create a new observation point on the target. Meanwhile, the target will suffer 30 HP damage per second and a 20% reduction in speed.

The face on the shell seemed to be grinning at me, but knowing I could see through those demonic eyes made me shiver.

What a bizarre face, too eerie.

The creature also began to struggle. Even though it was on the shell, it sensed something was wrong and extended its other three tentacles to grab at the ghostly face.

How could I let it grab that debuff?

"Ice Thorn Forest!"

Numerous magic circles emerged on the ice surface, followed by ice spikes shooting up from the magic circles, piercing all its tentacles in an instant!

The creature let out a piercing roar from being impaled. That's when I finally saw its name.

Evil Dragon Turtle

LV122

Aquatic Tribe, residing in the deep sea; a dragon hybrid species

Was this information too scarce? Or did dear World forget to update it?

Well, regardless, let's take care of it first!

"Super ultimate·Anti-Natural Frost Flames!"

Blue flames enveloped the Evil Dragon Turtle, and soon its body was encased in ice, while the blue flames kept burning, rapidly reducing its HP.

"Ranged attacks are awesome."

I chuckled and raised Ghost Breaker.

"Let's try out a new skill! Meat Grinder Swordsmanship!"

I came up with such a silly name; now I had to own it.

Ghost Breaker transformed back into a blade tornado in my hand and whirled towards the Dragon Turtle encased in ice!

With a deafening roar, the ice directly split into two halves!

Done!

"Haha, this is a new record for me, taking down monsters out of my league."

Just as I was feeling triumphant, a ball of light suddenly flew towards me!

I quickly dodged, but it seemed the target of the light ball wasn't me. It flew straight at the Dragon Turtle I had just defeated.

In a flash, the light ball swept something away.

And then in the distance on the sea surface, with a ‘swish’, a new turtle dropped out of the light ball!

What on earth?

Resurrection?

"Darn it! Who killed my turtle?"

A voice rang out, and I saw a figure resembling an old man floating next to the turtle, yelling loudly.

Well... looks like a new boss has arrived.

What's there to fear? I thought to myself as I looked at the combat report.
