"Are the remaining seven all tough nuts to crack?"
Fast forward to the present, halfway through the week, only one of those eight stubborn individuals has been persuaded to join us, while the rest remain steadfast.
The trio with unique interests, Kenan, Geraldine, and Ben, are manageable. Ms. Mary and I are in charge, coaxing them into attending classes every day.
Then there's Beatrice, who hones her combat skills in the forest every day, Sister Sally who prays at the church daily, Alicia who brews dangerous potions in the lab, and the elusive Sword Saint, Kenilia, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
In the office, Ms. Mary and I are racked with contemplation. Aliyah and Oyado feign deep thought beside us. Hours pass with no breakthrough.
"If things continue like this, we may have to resort to more underhanded methods to capture them, though not excessively so," I suggest, only to be met with a thump on my head from Ms. Mary.
"At a time like this, you're worrying about ethics? Just focus on getting them on board by any means necessary!"
"Yes, yes, I know. But, well, with the one at the church, it might require Fran's intervention, and Yabber seems busy following the recent incident. I hardly bump into her at the academy, so if we want to handle this, a visit to the church might be necessary."
"Alright then, it's up to you."
"Hey, hey, hey, it's precisely because I don't want to deal with this that I'm hesitant to go! You know about my strange relationship with the church. If I go, who knows, those fanatics might see through me and accuse me of heresy!"
"I don't care, you're going."
This woman is truly out of her mind, caring little for the consequences.
"Sigh... fine, I'll deal with Alicia, Sally, and Ben. You handle the rest!"
"Alright, alright, you deal with them first."
"Fine then..."
I rise from my seat.
"Looks like I'll have to make a trip to the Medical College today."
With a heavy heart, I cast a venomous buff on us before heading out.
------------------------------Medical College------------------------------
Though light magic is the strongest healing element in magic, the church seldom intervenes in conflicts on the continent, which means the importance of plant-based healing magic comes into play.
However, training mages is no easy task, especially since mages are primarily frail and vulnerable on the battlefield, prone to swift deaths, making relying solely on mages for healing a commander's death wish.
In such a scenario, how can one equip troops with a simple recovery ability to prolong survival? This responsibility falls on the Medical College.
Equipping soldiers with healing potions and assigning medical personnel to every unit effectively ensures the soldiers' survival.
Furthermore, teaching a person to heal is much simpler than teaching someone without talent to use magic, underlining the crucial role of medicine in every empire.
Additionally, the importance of special potions for certain nobles with unique needs contributes to the flourishing of Medical Colleges, ensuring financial stability and a significant standing in the empire.
This is why the building of the medical school is so tall, this is not a medical school at all! This is basically a wizard's tower! And can't you guys install an elevator? Climbing this high is exhausting. Why can't I use magic to fly up there? If you guys can't use magic, why can't I? And I can't even use teleportation, where would I end up if I teleported? In the men's restroom? Aliyah and Oyado are following behind me.
"I mean, Aliyah, don't you need to take care of your students in your class? Is it really okay for you to run around all the time with me?"
"Of course," Aliyah said with a smile. "The students in our class are all fools who train in martial arts every day, they don't need any supervision."
"It's nice to have normal students..."
"Isn't that normal?"
Aliyah really came to see Aria with me for the first time, which is understandable.
"Well, although he's normal... but he's also... um... to put it in terms we're more familiar with, let's just say, he's a pervert."
"Huh?"
"You'll see when you meet him."
After climbing more than 30 floors, we finally reached the floor specifically for Aria's use. Even the entrance to this floor was blocked by iron bars with a sign saying "Danger: Keep Out".
"Brother, what kind of pervert is this guy?"
"It's better for kids not to know." I said with a wry smile. "You'll find out soon enough, let's go."
We pushed open the door at the staircase entrance and walked in. But what greeted us was a strange visible smoke, which I separated with a water shield, and then we walked in.
"I thought we weren't supposed to use magic here?" Aliyah asked.
"This floor is a bit special," I said, looking at the water shield starting to change color. "You need magic here unless you are immune to all poisons."
"Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh!!!!"
Suddenly, a figure appeared at the end of the corridor, then turned around and closed the door behind him, followed by a loud bang as black smoke seeped out from under the door.
"Oh my goodness," Aliyah's face twitched. "Is this a medical school or an alchemy school?"
"Aren't they pretty much the same thing?"
"Ah, isn't this Teacher Lin? Have you pleasured yourself today?"
...
An awkward silence ensued, as everyone, except for the strange sounds coming from behind the door, stopped in their tracks simultaneously.
"Ah, how can a healthy young man neglect his needs every day? Is that not acceptable? I have plenty of medicines here to ensure vitality~ And if that's still not enough, let Aria herself help you restore your manly vigor."
"First of all, you need to go teach at school!"
As I said this, Aliyah had already drawn her weapon.
"This is shameless!"
She transformed into a wolf-like state instantly and dashed forward in a red blur.
"Wait..."
It seemed like it couldn't be stopped, but... it turned out to be okay.
Although Aria's attack might not be strong, there are many magical items at her disposal.
For example, paralysis mist.
As I thought this, the charging Aliyah slowed down, her hair returned to its original color, and then she collapsed.
Is this hypnotic smoke?
"Such a lovely child~"
Alexia walked up to Aliyah and picked her up.
"Is she your daughter? Or perhaps... your lover? Looks like the teacher has a taste for this, but is the other party of legal age? It's not good to break the law, you know."
Having conversations with perverts is really tough.
