"Thank you for your appreciation," I responded with a smile. However, being called a monster by a member of the demon race was not a good thing, considering that technically they were the ones who could be called monsters.
Although Oyado had witnessed me using plural system magic, at this point, there was no need to hide anything about it.
Through summoning an ice snake, I saw that the enemies around the cave entrance were either eliminated or had fled. I quickly gestured for everyone to come out of the cave.
"What's next?" I asked Greed as soon as we emerged.
"This... should be the Mandora Forest. According to the intelligence department's information, the enemy's main army is indeed in this location. This means that we need to proceed further to the rear to reach the back army, which is our target – where the person who took over your body is located," Greed explained while pointing to the nearby bushes.
"Quick, hide in the bushes; the enemy should be sending someone soon," Greed instructed.
"Good point," I snapped my fingers, causing all the ice snakes to disappear. Our group then hid in the forest and slowly moved in a different direction.
"We came out earlier than planned; the designated location is still further ahead, so continuing in this direction should be fine," Greed assured.
"Okay," I nodded and decided to also dispel the underground ice-sealing magic. Waiting for those magical ice blocks to melt on their own was not an option.
By dissipating the ice, there might still be some spiders alive, which could potentially give the enemy a surprise.
As we continued forward, we heard sounds coming from the direction of the main road, indicating that the enemy had indeed brought reinforcements and would soon be engaging with the spiders.
As we proceeded, a notification sound chimed, displaying the following tasks:
- Eliminate 24 Eight-Eyed Spiders
- Assist in eliminating 5 Werewolf Warriors
- Gain 70,000 experience points
- Level up to Level 39
- Titles: Tyrant, Guardian, Warbringer leveled up, enhancing effects
I glanced at Bai Yueguang and the others, who were also looking at the air in front of them. After a moment, they looked at me and continued walking forward.
Although I understood they had gotten used to it, there was something strange. I couldn't see the numerical values of my teammates' levels and experience at the moment, even though I could see that Aliyah and the others' levels had indeed increased, but the notifications were missing.
I wondered if it was due to the developers simplifying the system, leading to reduced data visibility. Whatever the reason, our current goal was clear: to eliminate the person controlling my body.
Who would joke around and take someone's body as if it were a trivial matter?
Due to the significant number of enemies and the regular patrols, we had to stop frequently along the way. As we finally crossed the forest and arrived at the enemy's rear army, darkness had descended.
"Though it may be a bit late, the cover of darkness is more favorable for our operations," Greed observed as we peered at the military camp in the clearing of the forest.
"Indeed, but what about our approach route?" I inquired.
"Well, enemy camps are usually symmetrically arranged, and the enemy commander's position should be towards the middle at the rear. We'll take the opportunity when they change shifts to locate their position first before deciding on our next move," Greed elaborated.
"Who should go?"
"Well..."
She looked at Oyado.
"I'll go with this little sister. After all, among so many people, only she and I have good hiding abilities."
"No, I want to go with big sister!"
Oyado said dissatisfied.
"This..."
The other person looked at me in difficulty, and I shrugged, indicating that I couldn't do anything about it either.
Seeing a greedy and somewhat helpless look, I sighed and said, "Alright, here's the plan: Oyado and I will investigate, and you can cause some disturbances in their camp to help divert the enemy's attention."
"Okay, I guess."
"Then Bai Yueguang and the others, wait here for our message."
I said to them with a smile.
"Maybe we'll just take out the enemy directly."
"Hey, hey, don't be reckless, they are from the camp."
"Got it, got it."
I looked towards the camp and said, "Although I don't often play stealth games, I still know about the Snake Uncle."
"Who is Snake Uncle?"
The greedy person next to me asked.
"Um... a very famous stealth master."
I explained.
"Really? Is he very powerful? Why have I never heard of him?"
"Isn't that obvious? If you know about him, that means he's already been caught, right? Only true masters remain hidden in history... Bai Yueguang and Aliyah over there, stop giggling! You guys! Wasn't what I just said correct or not?"
"Correct, correct!"
They nodded while stifling laughter.
"Alright, let's go! Let's move, Oyado!"
"Understood!"
With that, I activated my invisibility skill, and after a green light enveloped my body, I vanished.
After watching Oyado and me leave, the greedy person turned to Bai Yueguang and the others.
"Miss Freya, is she really human?"
"..."
Everyone looked at her and sighed helplessly.
"If you think she is, then she is. If you don't think she is, then there's nothing we can do about it."
"Oh... What about you guys?"
"Same goes for us."
"Oh."
