Chapter 51 Stolen!
update icon Updated at 2026/4/24 17:00:02

At first, we were speculating whether the people from the Abyss had too heavy appetites, which was why this ramen shop was so deserted.

But we were all too naive, such a sweet reason could never hold true.

The real reason became apparent to us the moment we walked in because it felt incredibly eerie.

"Hello~Welcome."

Upon entering, we were greeted by a pig-headed person.

That's right, not the kind with a pig-headed mask, but a genuine pig-headed person.

Well, I don't have any racial discrimination. After all, if someone is working diligently, then we have no right to make any comments.

But...

It clearly said "pork char siu ramen" on the sign outside...

The thought was chilling...

I couldn't help but size up this guy, wondering if he used his own meat to make ramen.

At times like this, we all kept silent, as nothing good could come from speaking up.

And leaving like that would be too impolite, especially since he greeted us with a smile. Even if we were fierce warriors who slay monsters, it didn't feel right to just walk out.

So we all quietly sat down and picked up the menu.

But instinctively, we all ordered different kinds of ramen.

Vegetable ramen, egg ramen, dragon meat ramen, and so on.

We just didn't want to eat pork ramen at a ramen shop run by a pig-headed person. It felt like a hen laying eggs and selling them at the same time.

Okay, I admit my analogy sounds weird, but that was the situation.

And so, in a very awkward atmosphere, we finished our meal and left amidst the warm words of "Welcome back."

...

Back on the street, we all sighed silently and looked at each other.

"Should we...buy some snacks and head back?"

"Sounds good..."

Indeed, different cultures can be hard to get used to, heh heh heh...

Of course, buying snacks meant just that, we weren't going to casually browse the shops here.

First of all, the weapons and equipment here were not human-sized, and those gears...

Well, cultural differences are indeed significant. I can only say that while defense is important, you can't just haphazardly put together unknown pieces of leather armor to make equipment; that's just too scary.

Someone a little taller might end up looking like a humanoid monster. The simple art style truly didn't sit well.

So, after buying some snacks, our group prepared to leave.

...

But things didn't seem as smooth as we had imagined, because as soon as we stepped out of the city gate, we noticed our land dragon was missing.

"Hmm..."

I looked at everyone.

"Do you think the land dragon ran off on its own, or was it stolen?"

"I think the latter is more likely?" Aliyah chuckled.

"Didn't you see that no one tied up their mounts at the gate?"

Indeed, despite the sign saying "Please tether your mounts here," no one else had done so.

Instead, we could see someone tying their mount to a tree from afar and having someone watch it nearby.

"It seems that's the case, well, it's not like it's our own property anyway."

I shrugged.

"But the issue is..." Bai Yueguang pointed in the direction we came from.

"Although it took us less than half an hour to ride here, it's going to take quite a while to walk back, the speed of this terrasquid is pretty fast."

"That's true, but we're not slow either when we walk."

"..."

Bai Yueguang gave me a disdainful look and then said quietly.

"...Don't you want to show a little color to the thieves who stole from us?"

"If you want to fight, just say it directly, why beat around the bush, we both understand each other."

Then I looked at Oyado.

"Oyado, did you see what kind of person stole our terrasquid?"

"Uh..."

Oyado squatted down to take a look and said.

"There were 5 people, but one had a particularly large footprint, so I'm not sure if they're human."

"In fact, none of them are human..."

I said quietly, then looked towards the guard at the door.

"I think that guard must know something, otherwise... what else can they do standing there?"

Following my gaze, a Mo Dreamguard was on duty there.

Seeing our expressions, the guard actually averted their gaze silently.

Ah, feeling guilty.

"Bai Yueguang, this honorable task is up to you."

I patted his shoulder.

"What? Me? I'm not good at interrogation."

"I'm telling you to ask, not interrogate, and as for why..."

I looked at him with a wicked smile.

"Right now, you're the only guy here."

"Damn it!"
