As soon as I finished speaking, the sound of a blade rubbing against stone came from the direction where I had just pressed the name. A moss-covered stone monster emerged directly from the sword with a thunderous bang, landing in front of us.
"Damn it!"
I quickly summoned earth walls on all sides to wrap us up, because the previous vibration had caused the surrounding trees to shake, and the blades were now swaying around on their own, posing a risk of accidental injury at any moment.
Even though I could use healing magic, who knew if these blades might come with negative effects? If they did, things would get even more complicated. No one knew what strange effects these demonic creations might have.
I dared not stay for long, especially with another monster glaring at us from across!
Removing the equipment from my magic book, I sacrificed a flash of mana and pushed myself towards Bai Yueguang and the others. After all, their location was much more spacious than ours, and with their combat abilities, we would have a better chance.
"How did you guys get back?"
Bai Yueguang asked as he looked at us suddenly appearing.
"No time for talk, enemies incoming!"
Before I could finish, the monster rammed into the iron tree on our side, and several blades gleaming with cold light came stabbing towards us.
"Dance, ultimate · Dragon's Wrath!"
Taishi Xi swung her long spear, and a green dragon's shadow emerged from the spear's body. Stepping forward forcefully, the long spear drew a trajectory of a dancing dragon and stabbed in the direction of the flying blades, sending them flying backward in a whirlwind.
On the other side, Bai Yueguang made a dash toward the monster and struck it with his sword.
Clang!
A metallic clash rang out, and I saw a pained expression flash across Bai Yueguang's face, uncertain if it was because of his own blade or the discomfort from his hand being hurt.
"Don't freeze up!"
Taishi Xi roared and dashed to Bai Yueguang's side, kicking the monster.
But the next moment, I saw Taishi Xi's face contorting.
"Shocked! What on earth is this?"
Bai Yueguang and Taishi Xi jumped back, watching the monster.
The monster seemed to pause as if resting in place, shedding the mud and moss to reveal a silvery-gray body underneath.
Stone? Metal?
It was completely indiscernible from our angle, except for the fact that the spot Bai Yueguang had cut earlier showed no damage at all.
How could such a thing exist? A specialized guardian? Ming Luoxin never made it clear to us, but this thing seemed even more threatening than the iron trees.
The monster began to move slowly, for some reason at a speed akin to a rusty robot. But once it steadied itself, it squatted slightly, then bolted towards us like a bullet!
And the target was not Bai Yueguang or Taishi Xi, but me, Oyado, and the others.
What in the world!
The three of us quickly leaped into the air to dodge, and as we did, I suddenly realized how dire the situation was.
"Arcane·Sevenfold Earth Shield!"
Several earth shields surrounded us, and the next second, countless blades pierced straight through my earth shield, but remained in the pierced state.
If it weren't for the earth shield blocking them, it should have been us being pierced right now!
"What in the world is this..."
Oyado asked in shock.
"Is it using traps to enhance each other's effects? Quite convenient indeed."
I said with a wry smile.
"Flying or jumping will be attacked by the iron trees, and with the 'Orichalcum Guardians' guarding the ground, the enemy truly has sealed off both the top and the bottom."
I explained to them, then landed back on the ground with them.
"It seems we can't continue forward without taking down this guy, but his defense seems unusually terrifying."
"Terrifying doesn't even begin to describe it!"
Taishi Xi exclaimed in dissatisfaction.
"The defense of this guy is so extraordinary. I just kicked at full strength, and normally, I could kick a metal block of the same size flying. But this feels like kicking a wall for an ordinary person, it's so painful!"
"Yeah, even my slashes don't seem to have much effect on him. That guy is really tough."
Even Bai Yueguang said so.
I could only sigh.
"It's easy to complain, but do you have any solutions?"
"None."
Both of them said straightforwardly.
Do you have to be so honest? Can you dare to go up and give it a few more slashes before saying that?
"But..."
Hei Luoli suddenly spoke up.
"Since it's a non-living object given life, it must be moving through spells or magic, right? If we know how to make it stop, maybe it can work?"
"That sounds simple enough, but the real challenge is how to make it stop?"
"Isn't that simple?"
Hei Luoli said confidently.
"Just dig a hole and make it fall in, isn't that enough?"
...
The five of us fell silent for a few seconds, completely ignoring the guards preparing to attack nearby.
Then, we all looked at it with friendly smiles at the same time.
"Charge!"
