Although I can connect to the humanoid's visual and control system, I still feel a bit unsafe. After all, this is the territory of the elves. Who knows if they have any magical detection devices? It would be bad if they sense the connection between me and the humanoid.
Although Dale has developed the camera and remote control devices, it seems that drones have not been fully developed yet. If we had one, we could simply attach an extra mechanical arm and place the storage ring on it. That would be the perfect tool for a thief.
Anyway, for now, I'll just make do. I waited for a while, but there was no reaction from outside. My anxiousness subsided.
"Alright, let's go."
The invisible humanoid crawled up the ceiling and reached a window at a higher position. It then shrank its body and slipped out.
"Such a convenient method. It's amazing that you came up with it," Aliyah couldn't help but exclaim.
"Well, it's my first time trying," I smiled and replied.
"Don't worry, I'll keep an eye out. If anyone approaches, I'll let you know so you can hide the humanoid and disconnect," Aliyah assured me.
"Great, thanks," I replied, focusing all my attention on controlling the humanoid.
Apart from the prison cell, we discovered that we were actually in the center of a forest, surrounded by tall trees from the Forest Sea. The view was blocked, leaving only a passageway leading into the distance.
It's indeed a good place to imprison someone... Even if we scream, no one will hear us, right?
Of course, except for the guards.
But the walls here don't have the magical shielding effect of a temple, so I am aware that there are only five elves nearby.
Controlling the humanoid, I accelerated and jumped from the roof of the prison, hooking my arms onto a branch and flipping onto a tree.
Taking advantage of the fact that the elf guards who heard the noise hadn't arrived yet, I quickly made the humanoid climb upward. Then, I ran from one treetop to another and crouched down.
After a moment, two alert elves walked to the tree where I had landed earlier and looked in my direction.
"Did you hear it just now?"
"Yes, the sound came from here."
"But there is no sign of any living presence..."
"Don't let your guard down. It could be someone very powerful. Two humans were locked up today. Maybe someone came to rescue them."
"Well..."
"I'll go back and check. You and Estelle increase your alertness and continue patrolling."
"Understood."
One elf hurried into the prison, while the other turned around to inform his companion.
Taking the opportunity, I commanded the humanoid to continue along the treetops in the direction of the road.
I left the situation here to Aliyah. Right now, I pretended to be asleep, so there was no reason for them to wake me up.
Running along the treetops, I soon noticed various beautifully decorated streetlights appearing on both sides of the road. Even the ground tiles were made with materials that emitted a splendid halo.
This is really high-level. I really want to quickly get down and see what material it is.
Forget it, there's something important to do.
Continuing to sprint forward, I could see some buildings that resembled spires in the distance.
After finally passing through the forest, I arrived at the top of a tree house. Looking down, I could see the entire elf city.
The guards... seems like I didn't see many, except for two at each entrance of the city.
The elf buildings... they look a bit like towns in RPG games, with large tree hollows as residences. They give off a feeling of commercial lodging too.
Next to them are shops, libraries, restaurants...
Why does this layout seem so strange? It feels like the houses were built hastily, as if just for the sake of it.
Could it be that there's more than one elf city? I can't think of any other reason why someone would build a city so simply, or maybe the elves just like it this way?
Oh well, never mind.
I quickly dashed along the treetops of the treehouse and arrived at the entrance of the library. Taking a look around to make sure no one noticed, I swiftly entered through a window on the side of the library.
Silently landing on the ground, I surveyed my surroundings.
All the elves were silently reading their books, completely unaware that someone had entered.
But of course, that's to be expected. After all, I'm still invisible, so even if they could sense something, they wouldn't be able to see or notice me.
Those elves looked very focused, some sitting at tables, some sitting on the ground, with food and water beside them. It seems like they're planning to have a long battle here.
Never mind them. Although I'm not very familiar with the elven language, I did study the word for magic in various languages before. After looking at the sign next to the stairs for a while, I immediately found that magic was on the third floor.
Upon reaching the third floor, I was slightly surprised.
I didn't see a single elf on this floor!
My goodness... this is not logical...
That being said, I started directly stuffing the multiple books on the shelves into my ring.
As for the single books, I opened them directly and took pictures of all the pages using the camera that I placed in my ring.
This feels like pirating... but it's so good!
I have no choice though. I can't learn skills from books seen through my humanoid form. Otherwise, I could just learn directly without having to take pictures.
And humanoid doesn't have shaky hands, so the efficiency is extraordinary. On average, I can take pictures of 50 pages in a minute.
After taking pictures for a while, I looked up at the bookshelves, only to realize that I hadn't even finished half of one shelf.
My goodness, how long will I have to stay in prison to finish reading all of this?
"Um..."
Suddenly, a figure behind me startled me. After pausing for a while, I slowly turned my head.
An elf who seemed to be around the same age as Aliyah was standing behind me, looking at me.
"Can you please grab the Low-level Earth Element Elf Magic Detailed Explanation on the top shelf?"
"..."
I didn't know if I should respond to him because... he's speaking the human language!
Who is this guy... and where did he come from?
