Chapter 26, The Rise of the Monsters 16... here it comes again...

When I entered the room, I realized that the extravagant decorations weren't the highlight; it was the size of the room that was truly exaggerated. This room alone was almost the same size as the entire apartment we had back in college.

The style of the room also differed from the outside. The walls were made of gray crystals with white magic stones as the light source. Leather sofas were placed on both sides of the room, with a round table in the middle. Silver cutlery was neatly arranged on the table.

At the other end of the table was a girl wearing red knight armor. Her orange-red hair was tied into a ball behind her head, seemingly done to make it easier to wear the helmet beside her.

When I looked at her, she also looked at me with a puzzled expression.

I carefully looked at her title and suddenly everything became clear.

Samehi V. Somerlundor

Gun Knight LV45

Neutral, rebellious, member of the Witte Imperial Duke Household, former member of the Royal Guard Knights, one-hit kill, [Rose Fire], adept at using multiple weapons, enhanced riding ability, exile, leader of the Crimson Rose Brigade.

So it was... Jan's or Fasit's daughter. Generally speaking, a member of a duke's family should not have anything that could stop the [All-knowing Eye], right? After all, this person's name seems to be different from Dest's.

And the name Crimson Rose... isn't that the name of the mercenary group Aliyah joined? It seems that this is going to be more interesting than I imagined.

"If you have any questions, please press the call bell."

Korf bowed and then closed the door as he left.

We stood in front of the door and looked at the girl at the table for a while before I smiled and spoke.

"Hello, Miss Samehi. It's nice to meet you."

"Huh? How do you...?"

"The leader of the Crimson Rose Brigade, [Rose Fire]. Or is it better to call you that? I am Yuriy, the captain of the Nite Mercenary Squad, and these are my teammates."

"I see... Oh, right, you're the mercenary Felice who stopped the blast beast alone with magic! [Magic-Wielding Hidden Swordsman], a mercenary who uses both powerful magic and swordsmanship, although no one has ever seen you use a sword, hence the title Hidden Swordsman."

"I see, no wonder that title sounded so strange. So that's what it means... Well, before that, I want to ask about your relationship with Lord Jans..."

"I am his daughter. Well, I haven't seen his face for several years now."

"I see, then..."

"Why did I come back? Well... you know, running a mercenary group is actually very difficult, so..."

"So your income and expenses are not balanced?"

"Not exactly. The main issue is that a significant portion of the members in our group are quite young and unable to complete missions, so..."

"I see. It seems like your mercenary group is quite compassionate."

"After all... we can't just leave them alone, can we? And once they become members of our group in the future, they can contribute to us as well, right?"

"That's quite a long-term investment."

It seems that Aliyah has found herself an interesting mercenary group...

"But recently, we have a new member who is incredibly skilled. They have completed many large-scale monster hunting missions, and finally our income and expenses are no longer in the red this month."

"But you still need funding, right?"

"Yeah, to make up for last month's losses... Anyway, are you guys planning to stand and chat all day? Please have a seat, even though today isn't my treat."

"Yeah, you're right."

Just as we were about to sit down, the door to the room opened.

In walked Jans and his bodyguard. He looked vibrant and satisfied, as if he had accomplished what he wanted to do last night.

"Hello everyone, I assume you've all gotten to know each other's identities?" Jans asked as he saw us nod. Satisfied, he took his seat at the head of the table and dismissed his bodyguard.

"Good, let's enjoy our dinner then."

With those words, he pressed a button in front of him.

"Let's begin."

After releasing the button, he looked at us.

"The foie gras prepared by this restaurant is exceptional, especially now that they have acquired a batch of fresh Storm Thunder Geese. I believe it is an extraordinary delicacy."

Jans introduced a dish that sounded peculiar.

Foie gras is indeed a luxurious food in this world, but upon hearing the term "Storm Thunder Geese," my appetite decreased by several percentage points.

Oh well, I'll just consider it as an ordinary meal.

However, when I turned to look at Bai Yueguang, his face was filled with frustration.

But at the same time, I thought... if Lanya were here, she would definitely spot a new market and encourage us to mass produce the dish in the Warcraft Forest.

Oh well, let's just have dinner.

——————————————————————————————

I have to say, the taste of these dishes surpassed my expectations. Upon further reflection, if I hadn't initially thought of these foods as Warcraft corpses, the flavors would have been even more remarkable.

"Well, I believe we all thoroughly enjoyed this dinner."

After dinner, Jans took a sip of wine before continuing.

"Now, let's talk business."

I knew this dinner wasn't just a meal, but thinking back, it's a shame.

If I had known, I would have eaten more. That dish that looked like roasted chicken was truly delicious.

"There's no one else present... so let's speak honestly," Jans paused for a moment.

"Thank you very much for the information you provided, Filis. I believe His Majesty, the Emperor, will soon take action and punish the person who disregarded the lives of the common people."

Is that so? I can't help but think that you are quite similar.

Nevertheless, I politely responded, "Not at all, I'm just doing what I should."

"Someone as talented as you, Filis, don't you plan on obtaining a position? I think it wouldn't be too troublesome to make you a national knight."

"Well... I think..." I hesitated.

"Of course, if you want to become Samhish's husband, it's also not impossible," Jans teased.

"Phew!" I was still drinking water! I almost sprayed it all out!

You guys are joking with me again!
