Chapter 25: For the Chest
update icon Updated at 2025/11/9 5:10:12

As I entered the tower, the scenery suddenly brightened before my eyes.

When my vision returned, I found myself looking at… the universe?

"Oh my God…"

I wiped the sweat off my forehead and took a closer look.

"No wonder it's an ancient artifact, it looks so different."

Looking around, it felt as if we had stepped into a vast space, with countless celestial bodies and even a sun-like planet in sight.

It seemed as if we could simply walk through the air, but upon closer inspection, we were actually standing on a glass bridge.

I pondered for a moment and took out my Reality Goggles to put on.

The translucent glass bridge became clear, and as I scanned the surroundings, I discovered that it was actually an extended maze!

Oh my, are you serious?

Helplessly glancing at the cooldown timer on my wings, I reluctantly headed forward.

I hope there are treasure chests inside this maze, otherwise who would want to navigate through such a tiring and deadly maze? It'd be better to just blow it up... But clearly, this maze was the path to the enemy's lair and if we blew it up, we wouldn't be able to go up either.

The person who designed this tower must be extremely bored, otherwise how could they come up with such a crazy idea?

And using this material that looks almost like glass, what kind of mentality is that, a glass heart?

"Ah ah ah ah!"

However, this didn't stop others from advancing. I saw them recklessly running along the maze, splitting into two teams at the forks and turning back once they reached dead ends.

Their efficiency was terrifying, but unfortunately, I used to play games where it was necessary to form a team and move together. Otherwise, according to the number of people in certain RPGs, I don't think navigating through a maze should ever be a problem.

That's a shame...

However, from this angle, you could still slightly analyze the direction of the glass bridge. It was clear which path was a dead end, why were they running around randomly?

Just as I was thinking this, beams of light suddenly fell from the sky!

And what surprised me even more was that monsters spawned at the positions where the beams fell!

What's more terrifying, treasure chests appeared at the end of some dead ends!

Both me and my companions were stunned.

"Big brother, what's that? Why are there chests appearing in those places?"

Hearing Oyado's question, I felt at a loss for words.

How do I answer that? Rewards for navigating the maze?

"Oyado, now, let me tell you the true essence of navigating a maze."

"The true essence of navigating a maze?"

Oyado tilted her head curiously.

"That is to open every chest you come across, no matter what it is."

"Why?"

"Because there will be good things inside."

"Oh..."

Oyado rested her chin on her hand, lost in thought.

"I understand, big brother!"

"Which means we have to collect the things inside those chests! Leave it to me, Master!"

Both Bai Yueguang and Oyado rushed out at the same time, but within my visible range, they had already opened several treasure chests!

Damn, how shameless can these bastards be! At least leave some for me!

Thinking this in my heart, I used Shadow Stealth to reach the farthest treasure chest in sight, and I opened it directly.

Congratulations! You obtained 1000 gold coins.

Wow!

You actually gave me gold coins!

What I need the least is skills and gold coins. Although I will gladly accept them, what use do I have for gold coins at this moment?

I can't use them like Cannon Sis as bullets.

While sighing, I silently keep the gold coins and rush towards the next treasure chest.

"Prohibited..."

A level 30 monster that looks like a robot rushes towards me, wielding a large sword in an attempt to block my path.

I slightly move, and an ice totem is lifted into the air.

Your measly experience is not worth more than 1000 gold coins. I would rather spend time opening chests than waste mana on you.

So, with the hard work of our group, this maze was looted empty in less than ten minutes.

A group of exhausted people rushed to the door leading to the next level. Bai Yueguang, who was at the front, swung his sword at the door, but it didn't budge.

"They said it couldn't be destroyed..."

I shrugged helplessly, then pressed the button next to the door.

With a swish, the door opened, but behind us, the maze made a crisp sound and, along with the monsters that hadn't been killed, fell into the endless universe.

I couldn't help but swallow my saliva.

"Um..."

"Fortunately, we all made it here."

Ms. Mary nodded to herself and then looked at everyone.

"Alright, next level!"

After entering the door, we were stunned once again.

This time, it was a square that couldn't be seen to the edge. The floor was covered in stone tiles, and there was no end in sight.

And the door behind us disappeared after we entered.

"Welcome..."

As soon as a shadow appeared, our group rushed towards it like a gust of wind!

"Hey hey hey! You guys..."

The shadow looked at us in panic, preparing magic in its hands.

"Bosses usually die from talking too much, but I dislike useless chatter. Great Ultimate·Judgment·Torn Cross!"

With a flash of red light, all of our skills shot towards the enemy at the same time!
