104. The Obsession of Pharrell

After a successful landing in Kypas City, I returned to the Lord's Mansion under the brilliant night sky. Feeling exhausted, I had to hold on until I could bring the master to the medical staff for treatment.

As we landed in the square of the Lord's Mansion, the guards rushed towards us, looking extremely concerned.

"Lord Yiluodiya, what happened to the Demon Lord?"

"Go and find help."

"Yes."

I carried the master and intended to go straight to her room.

As I walked through the garden and entered the corridor, her room was just a stone's throw away when a beam of light suddenly attacked me. I quickly dodged as the golden light exploded in the corridor, flipping over the eaves.

I frowned, wondering why there was an attack in the Lord's Mansion, and remained vigilant.

"Ah!!!"

Someone jumped from the roof with a shout. I could recognize that it was Feli's voice.

I leaped backward while holding the master, narrowly evading his sword attack.

"Tsk, I shouldn't have shouted."

That fool who wanted to be a hero without realizing his own limitations now stood before me, holding a sword surrounded by black aura, looking at me coldly.

I gently placed the master on the floor, and the guards hurried over to assist her.

"Carry the Demon Lord away for treatment."

"Yes!"

But Feli had no intention of letting the master go. He shot a black magic projectile from his palm, which I easily blocked with an enlarged shield.

Feli quickly charged towards me, and I knew his target was still the master.

However, Feli was far inferior to me in terms of speed. Although I was already exhausted, killing Feli was still well within my abilities.

Just as I was about to strike him with a fatal blow, his figure flickered and disappeared, leaving only a wisp of black smoke in front of me.

This... was ninjutsu?

I had been played.

I quickly turned around, and Feli had already appeared beside four female guards.

"Master!"

I shouted in despair.

Unexpectedly, those four guards acted cleverly. When Feli attacked with his sword, they stood together, allowing Feli's sword to pierce through three of them in a single strike.

Then, the sword was raised, and the bodies of the three guards shattered while only one guard trembled as she held the master.

I flew over and kicked Feli. He blocked it with his sword, and his body was forced back several meters.

With the blood of the guards beneath my feet, my anger burst completely.

"Feli!"

I, who was originally exhausted, seemed to have tapped into some reserve energy. Every cell in my body became scorching hot.

The light wings emitted colorful lights.

"Whoosh!"

In just ten seconds, light shadows entwined around Feli. His sword was kicked away by me, and his body was punched and kicked until it became bloated.

Pressing my right foot hard on his chest, I continued to exert pressure, causing Feli to cough incessantly.

Heath Relia finally arrived and exchanged a glance with me. She took the master from the remaining guard without any hesitation and left instantly.

"It looks cool, right? The ninjutsu I learned through hard work finally came in handy. It's just a pity that it falls a bit short."

I kicked his chest with force again, bearing a grudge against him.

"Cough, cough, cough... I almost forgot to mention, you know about ninjas, right? Cough, cough... I'm also... a human from Earth."

At this moment, Feli's cold expression faded away, or rather, it turned mocking. He sneered at me, looking at me with disdain.

So, it was actually me who was kept in the dark all along?

"Why?"

"Why? Because... I want to become a hero who slays the Demon Lord, I also want to become a legend."

"Why?"

"Because after I die, I can continue to the next cycle. This world is utterly boring."

No.

"Why did you, as a fellow human from Earth, have to become like this?"

"Ah... there's no reason. I am pursuing my obsession, just as you are pursuing yours, regardless of the world we are in. By the way, the news about your departure was leaked by me to the humans. You know about magical carrier pigeons, right? I learned the communication magic of your demon race a long time ago.""It's you..."

"Yeah, and there's something I didn't tell you. Hot air balloons have a tracking function, so it's inevitable that the Hero would find you. Actually, I don't hate the Demon race. My only wish is to experience the feeling of killing the Demon King, just like in the legend of the Hero. I also want to become the protagonist of the legend."

"But you're not the protagonist."

"Right, I'm not. But I have my own aspirations, to become the Hero who slays the Demon King, achieving an accomplishment that can never be fulfilled in the real world."

Suddenly, black mist crawled all over Ferry's body, and I jumped away cautiously.

Ferry stood up like a zombie rising from a coffin, and the black sword flew back into his hand. His eyes emitted a dark red light.

"This is my cheat code. Do you still think I'm human?"

Silent, looking formidable. I needed to focus on dealing with him.

"That's right, you guessed it."

I looked at him with confusion. I hadn't said anything, and I hadn't guessed anything.

"The ability that can only be activated when one is on the verge of death."

Ferry transformed into a black shadow and instantly appeared behind me. I turned around and gave him a punch, hitting the soft black mist. His real body flashed away to a distance.

"This is the rampage you wanted, your last struggle."

Several Ferry clones appeared in my field of vision. As expected, he was a ninja.

I joyfully shattered them one by one.

In the end, only his real body remained, and Ferry swung his sword towards me.

I aimed a heavy punch at his stomach, and there was a sharp tearing sensation as my fist pierced through. The blade cut into my shoulder.

"Crack..."

My fist broke through Ferry's body, and his long sword turned into black mist and dissipated. Ferry revealed a serene smile, murmuring to himself.

"So, I'm dead..."

I withdrew my arm, and the wound on my shoulder healed.

"Thud!"

His body fell to the ground, blood flowing.

Until his eyes lost their brilliance.

It turns out that what he said about any special ability being weak in front of me was true.
