94. Two Special Human Beings

That day, I said I would go and talk to Sif the next day, but it has been several days now and I haven't gone to see her.

Master has not been very busy during this time, so I stayed by her side and watched her every day. Although there has been no progress in my relationship with the Master, there seems to be some subtle changes.

We are still moving in a positive direction together, and I think so in my heart. As usual, I prepared to go out. Just before I reached the front door, someone knocked on it.

I opened the door and found Linsi Daisy standing in front of me.

"Lord Illotia, a human named Sif said she wants to see you."

I nodded and looked at the Master's room next to me. I couldn't stick to her all the time.

"Go ahead."

I went to Sif's room like before, and Linsi Daisy left, leaving me and Sif alone.

Sif still had a smile on her face when she saw me, happy that I came.

"Illotia, good afternoon."

"Hmm."

Standing in front of her, I simply responded to her.

She had shoulder-length brown hair with slight curls at the ends, dark pupils, and a delicate oval face.

Her looks were pretty good, but still far from me and the Master.

I had no interest in her advances, and I even didn't want to bother with her emotional state. I just wanted to hear her tell stories.

"What brings you here?" I asked.

"Because you haven't come to see me for a long time, so I called you. Did you fail with Ferrie?" she said.

"Hmm."

Sif smiled again, as if she had already expected it.

"Why don't you let me go and talk to him? I might be more effective."

I didn't answer her immediately. Instead, I moved a chair and sat in front of her, sitting up straight, ready to listen to her story.

"You said you often have disagreements, so why would he listen to you?" I asked.

"We do have disagreements often, but we rarely fight, and usually he gives in when we don't agree," she replied.

I thought about it carefully and realized that I didn't need to be so obsessed with finding talent. Sif said he was talented, but I didn't know if he really was.

"I think I'll pass. Just thinking about his attitude makes me annoyed, to the point where I even want to kill him," I said.

"No, don't do that. You will regret killing him. Many of our human inventions wouldn't have been possible without him. It's just that those inventions are still in the experimental stage. Unfortunately, he doesn't like being around researchers. He prefers wielding a sword and killing enemies on the battlefield," she said.

"Go on," I said.

Sif nodded and paused for a moment, organizing her thoughts before continuing.

"Do you want to hear his story? Let me tell you. We met when we joined the army. This time, he chose to fight with more than ten thousand people. Of course, I joined to see you, and unfortunately, he was assigned to the same group as me, responsible for our protection. He is a very powerful human, even comparable to a candidate for a hero. Unfortunately, he was not chosen by the heroes," she said, looking up at me with starry eyes filled with infatuation.

"And then?" I asked.

"Ah... and then, he is really powerful. He said he could be in the top three in terms of human combat power. But he can't last more than three minutes in front of you. It must be very frustrating for him. Ferrie often told me that he had a determination," she said.

So Ferrie is powerful? Even if he is the top strength among humans, he was easily overwhelmed by me, giving me the impression that he is just cannon fodder.

"What determination?" I asked.

"To become a hero," she said.

To become a hero who fights against demons?

Perhaps the heroes themselves are not that strong, but they can stand up against me only because they possess the Flame of Demon Slaughter.

If the hero loses the Flame of Demon Slaughter, would I be able to easily kill him?

It seems like I have found a way to deal with the heroes.

"But now he is a prisoner," Sif said, her expression sad as she lowered her head.

"It's a pity that he has never been valued by the upper levels of our human society. He has shown his strength in front of me, truly powerful. But for us humans, he is just strong. For you, he must be as weak as an ant, even before he can cast any magic spells, he would be killed by you. To be honest, our ten thousand human soldiers are not weak, but we can't even hold you back. The demons are just too strong.""Well..."

"I could feel the helplessness and despair emanating from our human race during the meeting. We underestimated the capabilities of your demon race, even with overwhelming numbers, we can't defeat you. Now we humans finally feel the fear of being controlled by Yiluodiya. By the way, how were you created?"

Suddenly, Hif frowned with curiosity about my existence.

I didn't know the specifics of how Yiluodiya was created, and I never asked my master.

"I don't know either. I was born with the mission to crush you humans."

"Alright. Um... have you considered whether we can go to the battlefield together?"

"I'll think about it."

I still didn't fully trust Hif.

After I answered Hif, she lowered her head, seeming disappointed in my response. We sat facing each other in an awkward silence, and it was Hif who finally broke the silence.

"You can take your time to consider. I think you should persuade Ferre as soon as possible. Maybe you can try again tonight and tell me the result?"

I nodded.

After bidding farewell to Hif, I reluctantly walked towards the room where Ferre was imprisoned. Before the guards opened his room door, I secretly swore that if he continued to treat me poorly, I would give up persuading him to surrender.

As soon as I entered, I saw Ferre lying on the bed like a dead person. It was impossible not to hear the sound of me opening the door; he must be pretending to sleep.

"Wake up."

My tone wasn't very good either.

Ferre opened his eyes and sat up from the bed.

His attitude became slightly more formal, and he looked up at me without his previous laziness.

"Yiluodiya, do you think being alive is just for the sake of being alive?"

What kind of philosophical question was he asking?

Coming directly to this topic?

"I don't know about you. As for me, I exist only for my master."

"Or maybe it's not just for the sake of being alive, but for that obsession in our hearts, always holding onto it. This strong desire supports me to continue."

"But things can also change, right?"

Having personally experienced hellish torture, there was nothing that couldn't be changed, under the endless torment of a living hell, any obsession could be abandoned.

Now that Ferre brought up this topic, I remembered my past self, the self that had died, and a completely new self emerged from the moment my bottom line collapsed.

I didn't believe Ferre would hold onto his so-called obsession forever, becoming a hero or something, it was naive and foolish.

"Who knows? Childhood dreams, wanting to become a hero, slay the demon king or dragon, be a hero or dragon slayer."

Ferre placed one foot on the bed, leaned on the bed with one hand, and placed the other hand on his knee.

For a brief moment, there was a bit of confusion; his shadow overlapped with the image of the happy man from my memory. The memories of joy that I had experienced.

The plot of the hero fighting the dragon, the demon king, the dreams of countless teenagers.

It took me a while to squeeze out a sentence in Chinese, my Chinese has become so unfamiliar, and it had a slight accent due to the influence of this world's language.

However, Ferre seemed puzzled by what I said.

"What are you saying?"

I shook my head and switched to a simple "hello" in English.

Ferre still looked confused and didn't understand.

He wasn't an Earthling, huh? I thought Ferre and I were from the same place.

He couldn't understand my words, whether they were in Chinese or English.

"Do you think another world might exist? A world that is generally peaceful."

Why were Ferre's words still so strange? I decided to test him first.

Ferre turned his head and smiled lightly.

"I'm not sure. But to think that the mighty Yiluodiya, one of the evil leaders who started the war, envisions a peaceful world, am I dreaming?"

A mocking tone, just like other humans. Everyone blames the war on me, even though the Yiluodiya of three hundred years ago and me now are not the same person. Now I began to suspect that Sif was a time traveler, the first human who understood me without any misunderstandings, and her speech was also very unique.

On the other hand, Ferry, although not as disgusted by me as Minnis, didn't like me either, or even could be said to reject me.

"Do you want to talk to Sif?" If Ferry wasn't a talent, I would try to win him over first.

I thought I could use Sif to eliminate Ferry's prejudice against me, so I asked this question.

Ferry looked up at me with a hesitant expression, but eventually nodded.
